《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 75: Chronia's Plan

The next few matches went off without any issues, especially for Ruby, Sophia and Xinia who easily defeated their opponents without needing to use any magic to do so. Zuno's starlight construct began to glow and flew around the booth.
"And for the final match of the preliminary round we have the marshal artist Venkana and...," Kiki said enthusiastically before her tone shifted to a confused one as she rotated the holographic tablet in her hands. Kikou snatched the tablet from Kiki before also becoming confused at seeing the other combatant's file.
"And the Terrorizer?" Kikou stated which made Charlotte glance over when Kikou said Terrorizer.
"What is this person, a wrestler or something?" Kiki remarked as Charlotte hurried over to the front of the booth and stared down at the figure donning a large-hooded cloak and Venkana(a tale male yellow dryad) walked towards the arena stage.
"Is that the one you mentioned in your report you and the others fought in the cavern dungeon?" Zuno inquired, with Charlotte giving the cloaked figure a quiet stare.
"Hard to say but they have the same nickname Sophia's sensei gave the recently turned Heathian," Charlottle mentioned as she continued to intently watch the arena stage before Sophia and Ruby teleported into the announcer booth.
"What are the chances someone would have the same name as the dude we thought in that cavern dungeon," Ruby remarked with Luna glancing at her.
"If even Ruby noticed something as subtle as a nickname match, then the likelihood that person is the person you think they are is ninety percent chance, Lottie," Luna remarked as she floated over to Charlotte.
"It sure would've been nice if Lola's mother would have told us more about the plan...," Charlotte complained as she leaned on the counter and recalled the meeting the group had earlier.
A few hours ago on the beach, everyone was gathered around a table made of sandstone and Chronia was drawing a map of the coliseum using a stick to etch into the sandstone. Chronia put the finishing touches on the map before tossing the stick away.

"Alright, as you can see, on the map everyone will be waiting in the announcer booth, except for hubby two, Kunai and Xelphia, until around the start of the quarter-finals; then everyone will split into groups and spread out to these locations," Chronia said while pointing at various points on the coliseum map with the group nodding their heads.
"And finally hubby, Zuno, Luna and myself will remain in the announcer booth until the Terrorizer and their monster make their move," Chronia explained with Ruby tilting her head perplexedly.
"Their monster?... but I don't remember them having one when we last saw them..." Ruby mentioned as she looked at the goofy drawing of a large multi-headed monster. Sophia noticed something odd about the monster drawing.
"Why did you scribble this spot above the... monster?" Sophia asked as she pointed at the super etched-out spot above the monster drawing. Chronia shrugged her shoulder as she walked across the table and hopped onto Zalroth's shoulder.
"Your guess is as good as mine, when I used my future vision there was a spooky-looking shadow on one of the monster's heads," Chronia explained. Zuno placed his hand on his chin and contemplated Chronia's words.
"Something the God of Time and Order can't see with her future vision... that is cause for concern," Zuno mentioned while Chronia nodded in response.
"Indeed, but it wouldn't be the first time... the Ne-L... the ancient towers also have the ability to block all forms of perception from the outside...," Vivo mentioned as a ball of sand appeared above his head before it landed on him.
"You don't need to tell people my shortcomings," Chronia whined as Vivo shook the sand out of his feathers before Zuno thought about something.
"Could that mean the shadow was someone using technology from an ancient tower," Zuno asked with almost everyone, excluding Heather and the Zals, lostly glanced between Chronia and Zuno.
"Mama... what's a ancient tower?" Lola asked as she tugged on Chronia's sleeve.

"Huh? Oh right... it's one of those, although they're normally in the stratosphere and not super run down," Chronia stated as she pointed out onto the lake and at the metalic mountain high pale golden foliage-covered metal construct protruding from the lake. The group blankly stared at the construct.
"How'd... we miss that?" Charlotte remarked as Zallino mentioned the tower's perception-diverting aura is probably still active. Chronia yawned as she foresaw someone asking why the tower was there.
"And before you ask, all you need to know is that the monster that became Lake Vesovian wasn't too happy when the thing came crashing down on them," Chronia stated. Chronia snapped her fingers, followed by the sandstone table flashing a pale lime and teal before the table crumbled into a pile of sand.
In the present, the roars of the audience interrupted Charlotte's train of thought, as Venkana and Terrorizer walked onto the arena stage. Charlotte thoughtfully stared down at the Terrorizer.
"Do you think now would be okay to move on to the next stage of Lady Chronia's plan, sensei?" Charlotte asked with Zuno giving a quiet head nod. All the kunoichi apart from Ruby and Luna nodded their heads as the Zals hopped on their shoulders(Zalmaru went with Heather, Vivo with Charlotte, Zallino with Alex and Zallina with Elizabeth) before they instant dashed away.
"And yet again I've been left behind because of my bad cardio... boo," Luna complained before an idea entered her mind.
"I guess I should get my medicines ready," Luna murmured as she opened her duffel bag and ruffled through it.
Meanwhile, Providence stood at the nose of the flying airship carrier's runway and amusedly grinning as a starlight construct flew around him.
"That would explain why the young Kara would have trouble tracking them down," Providence remarked as Xero, Five along with six other royal guards(One an adult male sniper wielder, Two an adult male claymore wielder, Three an adult female giant gauntlet wielder, four an adult female dual wielding sword user, six an adult male war hammer wielder and eight an adult male large kite-shaped shield wielder) kneeled before him.
"My lord, do you believe we should assist Magistrate Zulcrestus and his subordinates," One inquired as he raised his head. Providence shook his head and turned to face his royal guards.
"That won't be necessary, besides I don't believe my daughter is capable of teleporting anything that far a distance yet, Royal Guard Captain One," Providence stated, causing One to lower his head swiftly.
"Understood sir," One said calmly before Providence waved a rainbow crystal in front of Five's face.
"Could you deliver this to Magistrate Calloukus, Five?" Providence Requested. Five nodded her head before she took the gem and teleported away. Providence glanced at his right arm and lightly scratched it before glancing over at Six. Six raised his head and Providence gestured that Six could ask his question.
"If I may sir, do you think it's a good idea to allow the princess and the oracle to watch the live stream of the Maxicannion Tournament, given what the Supreme Guild Master said?" Six asked before bowing his head again.
"Do not threat, Six, given whom are there nothing scarring should appear on the live stream...," Providence said before the smug expression of an adult-looking Chronia rushed through his head.
"On second thought... perhaps I should watch it with them... just to be safe; as for you lot continue to assist Magistrate Zulcrestus' children with their training," Providence instructed before the royal guards nodded their heads and flew off. Providence commented on how quickly Callie has gotten at replicating the float azure ability as he slowly walked down the runway.

Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
