《Duplicity | E. Jaeger/J. Kirstein》° 012

Eren asks between puffs of smoke that escape his lips, before passing the joint your way. You admired the way he looked from this angle— your head rested delicately in his lap below, your body strewn across the leather seats in the back where rounds two and three had commenced.
"About what, exactly?"
Your words are muffled as you take a hit, your eyelids getting heavier by the minute; a combination of multiple orgasms, the weed, and the fact that you've yet to go to sleep while it was almost six-thirty in the morning.
"What happened with your boyfriend— must've been pretty bad for you to leave your apartment."
You sigh, exhaling in a cloud of smoke. There's a lingering silence. It isn't uncomfortable, just cautious. You aren't sure if you should be telling Eren the details of your complicated relationship, but you figured the point was probably moot after everything that's occurred between the two of you.
You sit up from his lap— he immediately slings an arm around your body as he pulls you flush against him, his hand resting on your hip as he carefully strokes the warmth of your skin.
"Don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, guess I was just curious." He says, tone gentle and muted as he sweetly presses a kiss to your temple.
You simply hum in response with your head rested softly against his chest. He smells so good— the cologne he wears clings onto the material of his hoodie, tickling your senses. His body is so warm, despite the layers of clothing that separate the two of you. You could fall asleep like this, if only time would permit.
Speaking of time...
"I should get going." You groan. "Gotta get back inside before Connie wakes up."

"Connie? Connie Springer?" Eren asks, helping you to peel your body reluctantly away from his.
"Yeah... you know him?" Your brow quirks with curiosity— you aren't quite sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
"He's in my communications class— I've talked to him a few times, he's a funny guy."
"Yeah, that's Connie." You let out a nervous chuckle, grabbing your coat and your phone as you get ready to exit the car.
"Wait."
He catches your wrist before you can escape without a trace— pulling you forward and into one last heated kiss. This one feels different than before. It's determined, powerful... almost possessive in the way that his lips hungrily devour yours.
"When can I see you again?"
He asks breathlessly— his cheeks dusted pink, green eyes adorned with affection.
"Soon."
You smile, planting one last kiss upon his velvety lips as you take your leave— waving one last goodbye as you jog up the stairs to your friends' apartment.
Fumbling with the key in your pocket, you go to grip the door handle and carefully unlock it without making a sound. Just as you make contact with the cold metal, the door swings open before you— beholding a very curious Connie Springer.
"Um, whatcha doin'?"
He asks, carefully eyeing your disheveled appearance up and down.
"...nothing."
It was honestly the first thing your feeble brain could compute, as you stood there wide-eyed like a deer caught in headlights.
"Doesn't smell like nothing."
He smirks, catching a whiff of the musky marijuana scent that clung to your skin.
"Look, just 'cus Jean doesn't like smoking doesn't mean I don't. Invite me next time, sharing is caring y/n."
He chuckles, slipping a black beanie over his head as the two of you exchange places— him walking outside, you going in.

"You're up early." You state, not doing yourself any favors in looking less suspicious than you already do.
"Yeah, was gonna go in ahead of time so that I could talk to Jean for you. Like we talked about, remember?"
"Oh, right." You force a smile amidst his concerned expression. "Thanks Connie."
"No problem. I know you think I like Jean more than you but it's not true— you're both my best friends, I guess I just sympathize with him more since I know what he's dealing with at work. He definitely needs to cool it though, I'll knock some sense into him if I have to." He nudges your shoulder with his fist, which damn near knocks you over due to the haze that still clouds your head.
He laughs, before grabbing his keys out of his pocket.
"Help yourself if you get hungry, just don't eat the cupcakes— Sasha'll probably kill you."
"Got it, thanks." You smile, closing the door; you listen to the sound of Connie locking up, his heavy footsteps stomping off with each 'thud' of his boots.
As exhausted as you were, there wasn't really any point in going to sleep— the sun was already dawning, as evidence of tangerine skies filtered through the blinds. You made your way to the kitchen, raiding it for any scraps that would satiate your hunger.
The cupcakes did look good; god knows how delicious they would taste on your tongue... but you knew better, choosing to heed Connie's warning unless you wanted to unleash the wrath of Sasha.
You spot a carton of eggs and some bacon, so you decide to whip up a quick breakfast for you and your host. It was the least you could do, knowing that food was the way to your best friend's heart.
but
First, you needed to shower; it was the second time in the past two days that you had to wash your sins down the drain. Though, this time, it didn't feel nearly as unpleasant.
Have you already accepted the person that you've become?
A cheater.
It was a harsh word— the idea of it prickled your skin as you peeled off the weed-stenched clothing from your body. You carefully examined yourself in the bathroom mirror, your skin impeccably exposed, showing off a decorative discoloration along your collar bone that Eren's mouth had so generously gifted you.
Fuck.
Those definitely weren't coming off in the shower.
Just as you were about to step underneath the searing stream of water, your phone delivered two harsh vibrations against the counter; two text messages seemingly came it at almost the same exact time.
One from Eren, and one from Jean.
The eeriness of the coincidence made you shudder.

CHRONICLES of a PC Gamer Stuck Inside an RPG (Book Two: Successor)
[2/28/19 Update: The CHRONICLES series has been removed from Amazon Kindle Unlimited. This means the beta version of the entire series is available on RR. Enjoy!] Book Two: Successor of CHRONICLES of a PC Gamer Stuck Inside an RPG continues the (mis)adventures of Lawrence Eugene Mulligan, who was brought to a new world by a divine entity known as the Gamemaster. Our main character ("MC") has only one objective: to become the King of the Kingdom of Merlin in order to return home. Luckily for our MC, he has developed strong relationships with numerous Non-Player Characters ("NPCs"), organizations, and even Gods (!) to help Lawrence achieve his ultimate goal. CHRONICLES of a PC Gamer Stuck Inside an RPG is a hardcore slice-of-life genre story which focuses on our unlikely MC as he handles quests and events that the Gamemaster constantly throws at the MC. All in the name of entertainment for the Gamemaster. Book Two: Successor is a sequel which continues the events of the final chapter of the previous book. And thus, it is important for readers to finish the previous work before delving into this next book. The official Amazon release (which includes an exclusive 2k words side story) is available at: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07KDJXF4K
