"You don't have to be so nervous— told you, I won't bite."
Eren takes a brief moment to glance at you from the driver's seat, one strong hand on the steering wheel, the other gripped tightly onto to the stick shift in between the two of you— the veins in his arms bulging prominently with each pull.
"Sorry." You apologize— your muttering was hardly audible, but at least it was something.
To be honest, men like Eren did make you nervous— his aura was powerful and intimidating, much different that your own average presence. You were just... there. Existing. You didn't mind fading into the background, more like you preferred it that way.
It didn't help that anytime you looked at him, the intrusive visions of him between your legs pops into your thoughts.
This whole situation was so out of norm for you, you couldn't help but feel like you'd wake up at any moment just to find out it had all been a dream.
"No reason to be shy, we're friends." He smiled subtly, eyes focused on the road ahead.
"Easy for you to say." You murmured, sounding a bit more snarky than you intended to.
"What was that?" He chuckled— the bite in your tongue intrigued him.
"I just mean... you don't seem like the type to feel shy or insecure about anything." You try to back pedal, hoping you didn't offend him.
He pulls into the parking lot, shutting off the car and unbuckling his seat belt. Suddenly facing you, he leans over the center console slowly— your breathing becomes shallow as you realize just how close he's gotten.
"Wanna know something?" He says softly, vision flickering down towards your lips, before returning his gaze into your eyes. "You make me nervous."
"I make you nervous? Why?" You almost snort out in disbelief, yet his eyes never leave yours as he leans back against the window behind him— legs spreading widely to make himself more comfortable.
"Can't say." He chuckles, reaching into his jacket pocket, pulling out a freshly rolled joint. "Wanna smoke before we go in?"
You can't help but grin. It's almost as if he'd read your mind. You nod your head in agreement, not wanting to sound too eager.
"Sure."

It didn't take long at all for the two of you to blow through the joint, the car fully hot-boxed— hazy smoke enveloping the cramped space, both you and Eren were pretty blitzed. Still, even through heavy lidded eyes, you can't help but admire the way he looks amidst the foggy atmosphere.

"Your eyes, they're really pretty." You say, confidently— any semblance of nervousness long gone as your high gives you the boost you needed.
"Thanks." He responds, his voice muted as holds in a puff of smoke. "You're really pretty." He continues, exhaling.
Your face heats up at his compliment, or maybe it was just the weed— but it felt damn good to hear him say those words. It had been a while since Jean had said anything like that to you, sincerely anyways.
Usually any compliments from him would follow after a fight the two of you had, most of the time while you were underneath him.
"Want the last hit?" Eren's groggy voice beckons your attention, holding out the joint that now reached his fingertips.
"No, that's okay— it's yours." You smile at his offer as he stares at your for a bit, as if he was contemplating something.
"We can share."
He swallows the last puff, before leaning over the center console once more. His hand grips the front of your throat, delicately— cool metal from the rings adorned on his fingers sting your skin as he pulls you towards him.
"W-what— "
He purses his lips, just millimeters away from your own, as he slowly blows the smoke into your mouth.
You hardly even inhale any of it, mostly because you were completely caught off guard but fuck— the way he was looking at you right now, green eyes reddened and hungry, so close that you could practically feel the warmth from his lips radiating off of yours...
You wanted to kiss him, so fucking badly.
Hell, you wanted to do more than just kiss him— the butterflies fluttering in your pussy made sure you were well aware of that.
Still, even through your lustful high, you thought of Jean. This was wrong, no matter how right it felt.
"I know we were supposed to get coffee, but I'm kinda hungry now— wanna get food instead? My treat." He speaks up from the driver's seat. You'd hardly even noticed that he had taken his original spot.
"Unless you wanna stay here and fuck."
"What?" You shook out of the daze you'd been under at the words you thought you heard him say.
"I said, unless you wanna stay here and finish another joint."
You breathed a sigh of relief— clearly you've had enough, to the point that you were hearing things. Though, if he had actually said what you thought he said... would you have said yes?
"Food sounds good." You say, lazily grabbing the handle and pulling yourself up onto your feet once you stepped outside the door. You quickly reached into your bag, grabbing whatever fragrance you had stored in there and spraying yourself with it.

It wouldn't hide the smell, but it made you feel better knowing you at least attempted.
Throwing the spray back in your bag, you saw your phone illuminate and vibrate— picking it up, your heart dropped when you saw that Jean was trying to FaceTime you.
"Everything okay?" Eren asked, stepping closer towards you once he saw your perturbed facial expression.
"Yeah, I'm fine." You say, hitting the button to silence the vibrations, ignoring your boyfriend's call as you walk into the cafe' along side your friend.
"You got something on your cheek."
Eren chuckles from across the bench where the two of you had decided to eat the food you had gotten from the cafe— you didn't want the aroma from your earlier activities to fill the restaurant, so you decided to eat at a park nearby, within walking distance.
"Oh— "
He swipes his thumb across the apple of your cheek without a second thought, popping it into his mouth to lick off the frosting from the pastry you'd practically devoured.
"Don't wanna waste any." he smirks, thumb still tucked playfully in between his pretty lips.
Did he have to tease you like this?
Soon enough, your phone vibrated again in your lap. It was Jean, calling for the fourth time. You should probably answer it, you didn't want him to worry... but—
"You should probably answer that, seems important."
You nodded your head in agreement, but you hesitated— your finger hovering over the green button. What if Jean found out you were here with Eren? His intelligence was questionable at times, but he wasn't an idiot. After all, he knew you better than anyone else. Surely, he'd catch on that you were hiding something.
"That your boyfriend?"
"Yeah, I'll be right back— gonna see what he wants."
"You can answer it here, I'll be quiet." He teases, taking another bite of his bagel. His tone was demanding, and for some reason, you obeyed.
"Uh, okay."
You pressed the button, Jean's face soon appeared on your screen.
"Hey, why weren't you answering my calls?" His tone is hushed, but firm— you can tell he was annoyed by the fact that it took him four times to get you to answer.
"Oh, I was getting something to eat... just wanted to get out for a bit."
There. Not like you lied.
"Your eyes... they're red. You been smoking again? For fucks sake y/n, I told you that shits no good— makes you lazy." He lectured you as if he were your parent instead of your boyfriend, embarrassing you in front of Eren who sat intently across from you.
"It's not a big deal, Jean. Just wanted to. I'm fine." Normally you would've let him have a piece of your mind, but since you weren't alone, you thought it best to just stay passive. "Why did you call?"
"Marco called in sick today, so I gotta cover his shift— just wanted you to know that I'll be home late tonight." He sighed, you can tell he was pretty stressed out from work.
"Okay... how late will you be? Should I make dinner?"
Eren smiled at the exchange with your boyfriend. Must be nice to have a pretty little girlfriend like you, to make dinner for him after work— lucky guy.
"Nah, don't worry about making anything. I probably won't be home until after ten, Marco has the closing shift."
You glance over at Eren, who continues to watch you converse with Jean. It makes you feel a bit awkward, and it certainly doesn't help the fact that he's sticking out his pierced tongue to lick up some of the cream cheese off his bagel.
Has he always had that piercing? You hadn't noticed it until now. You can only imagine how it would feel against your—
"You heard me babe?"
"Oh, yeah. Alright then, I'll see you tonight."
Shit. You need to be more careful.
"Miss you baby. I love you." Jean coos through the phone, waiting for you to return the phrase.
But, you don't. Not right away atleast— maybe it was because Eren was still watching you, almost like he was challenging to say it in his presence.
After some hesitation, you finally respond.
"Love you too."
Both of you end the call after that, and Eren finishes the last bite of his breakfast, leaning back in his chair— an air of confidence radiating off his presence. Trouble in paradis?
(See what I did there?)
He could sense it. Your relationship was clearly damaged, and this just made him feel more excited about his newfound friendship.
"Looks like you're free for the rest of the day." He says, standing up to throw away his trash and yours.
"Yeah, I guess so." You're hesitant, wondering what exactly Eren had in mind with that notion.
"I'm supposed to stop by my friend Armin's in a bit...

A quest that just might end up changing the fate of the entire world. ————————————————————————————————————- What do readers say about it? ————————————————————————————————————- "Aethernea is my absolute favorite read on wattpad, I love it as much as I love Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments. You have such an amazing way to make the words flow and unbelievable descriptions. Unique characters and a great story line. All the small clues and mystery in the humor and fantasy just makes the book perfect in my opinion. I read all chapters in two days! Less than 48 hours even! I'm REALLY looking forward to the next update, the world of Aethernea is so deep and well thought out, it's beautiful and magical. God I can't believe how creative you are, so many small details with so many families and stories everywhere. Purely fantastical, I admire you." - astro-logical from Wattpad "I love love love Aethernea so much! It is amazing how you created this new world with different creatures, magics, looks, illnesses, and evil! I was blown away by your explanation of the Mana pools and how to weave magic! Simply stunning really! You are one of my favorite authors and Wattpad and I am so glad I stumbled upon Aethernea because it is worth all of my time reading!" - Adriana_V_Blade from Wattpad "I absolutely am loving Aethernea so far. I am certain you belong in the ranks among J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Suzane Collinings, and many more great and wonderful authors. You opened up a whole new world for me, which only a few great authors have accomplished. While it's true I am pulled into each and every book, few are able to capture me to the point of inescapability. Though, somehow, you have managed this feat. I thank you for this and more! You are a wonderful author and can't wait for more to come!" - daughterofpercabeth7 from Wattpad "WOW! just caught Aethernea in gravity tales! Just when I was getting tired of most xianxia novels this appears and completely blows my mind! I really like the depth and the humorous touch you give the characters and it seems you have the storyline well thought out since you are always hinting about things in the past and the future. It has been such an enjoyable experience that I couldn't stop reading, finishing it in just one day and laughing my way through most of the episodes. But what keeps me so excited for what's coming is the magic system and the professions of the world you are creating. The magic mechanics have such a huge potential! They are simple but at the same time they open so many possibilities. Even though we still only understand the basics of transmutation and augmentation, I expect them to enable fights where there is need of quick thinking and skill, and not just brainless overpower of every opponent. In a way this makes me reminiscent about The Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson, which are one of my favorite series ever. The thing that sets Mistborn apart from any other series is that the mechanics are so well thought out that they could be used to create a super cool triple A video game and I cannot help but hope Aethernea reaches the same level or even surpass it. I really think it has that potential. Really hope this series gets the attention it deserves. As for me, Thursdays and Sundays just got a whole more exciting! =)" - AlexMLion "Your writing is fantastic and riveting, the chapters and character flow so smooth, and it captivates the reader with the many twist and turns that tricks one mind into thinking this is about to happen, when suddenly the exact opposite happens. You truly are in inspirational writer with a brilliant mind that can see and put words into chapters and into this one truly awesome book. Thank you!" - AshleyStaar from Wattpad "I loved this story, such detailed description and accurate words, both Kiel and Elaru completely caught my attention, your writing style is just beautiful and the plot is astounding and it's just the first episode! This kind of fantasy stories are my favourite, it has a lot of magic in it, rivalry and sense of humour." - BlackWhiteD from Wattpad
