《Remember | Tokyo revengers》「52」- Why and How

"You've gotten so good at playing the violin." Beamed the fifteen year old [Y/n] who took her hands off on the piano keys.
Hatsumi puts her violin away from her face. "And you still play as beautifully as ever." She compliments through a tender smile that shows her teeth a little.
"Thank you." Replied the girl that was still seated in front of the piano, a smile present on her face due to the kind words of her friend.
"Should we play another one? It's been a while since we last played the Merry go round of life." The brunette suggests but before [Y/n] could answer, she felt her phone vibrate inside her pocket.
'What's her reason for the things she's done?'
"Ah, that's right.." Hatsumi smiled sheepishly. "You're gonna attend the Toman meeting today with Emma...while I have those private lessons that my parents paid for..." she turns around to put her violin back inside its case, now crestfallen.
"I can just tell Emma I won't attend, but if you do the same...your parents might get angry." Her [h/c] friend states with a deep sigh. Both girls exchanged sympathetic smiles before standing up from their sitting position.
"It can't be helped." They both said in unison before the brunette went towards the door to put on her shoes and leave. "I'll see you tomorrow, [Y/n]." She said as she swung the door open, revealing Hanma and Kisaki both standing outside in front of the house in their Toman uniforms.
The tall and lanky male waved one of his tattooed hands with a smile. "Good evening, ladies~"
'When and why did she even harbor such deep and ill feelings towards us all?'
"Is it just or is Hatsumi avoiding me?" Questioned the [h/c] teen whose hair was getting dried by Emma using a hair dryer while Akio's cute laughter the living room could be heard all the way to the youngest Sano's room.
"She's avoiding all of us apparently." Remarked the blonde girl as she sets down the device. "Did you guys fight or something?"
Pondering and searching through her memories, [Y/n] shakes her head. "I can't think of any story or day." After she spoke, Izana's voice was heard and his silhouette was seen standing outside and in front of the door of Emma's room.
"Oi, hurry up. Mikey's whining is destroying my ears." He starts with a scoff. "He's also been eating the snacks you both prepared for the movie night that Shinichiro even gave up on stopping him from eating them, and both Akio and Kakucho also can't wait to watch the movie now." He ends his rambling with an exasperated sigh.
Seeing Izana's retreating figure, both girls exchanged looks then stormed out of the room with a loud slam of the door's room and shouted Mikey's name. (Another normal night at the Sano's house.)
'Just what did we do wrong?'
"My father doesn't want me hanging out with you, or anyone in Toman anymore." Said the fifteen year old brunette in a cold gaze that held many complicated emotions swirling in it. "You're all...a bad influence and you're all hindering my studies."
"...Is that why you also stopped playing your violin?" Asked [Y/n] as she stood a meter or two away from her friend who she can't exactly tell what she's currently feeling. She realized how good Hatsumi has gotten on masking her real emotions unlike their elementary days then.
"Both Father and Mother...decided that it'd be best to get rid of it so I could focus even more on my studies and catch up with my brothers since I'm falling behind them terribly." She flashes a smile before bowing her head and turning on her heel.

"Then what about what think?" The [h/c] girl's question made her halt in her footsteps as a gentle breeze hit and passed them.
"I..." Hatsumi trailed, body turning and facing her again. "I also think the same." She answered through another smile, but in a crescent like shape and with her eyes this time.
"I cannot afford to make my parents disappointed in me." She continues without letting her smile disappear. "And to even taint the family reputation by being a disgrace. They only want what's best for me since I am the youngest and the only daughter in the family after all." She drew in a deep breath and released it.
"My parents have decided to move me to United states and continue my studies in order to make sure I receive the best education, like my brothers." She bows her head along with her torso, a familiar sight for the [h/c] girl. "Thank you for everything...I truly had a fun time with you and the others. Please tell them in my stead of my goodbye.."
'Why did she destroy our friendship?'
"I see..." A woman who has medium length hair that's in a dark shade of burgundy spoke with a melancholic look on her porcelain face. They were alone in a nice and luxurious looking room inside a tall building which the burgundy woman said she owns the whole building itself earlier while entering.
"So your family and everyone in Toman, including Masashi, are all dead, huh...?" The twenty-three year old Hatsumi pulls her crying friend into a warm and gentle embrace.
"It must've been so excruciating to hear and see the people you love..die one by one..." She says so softly with a shaky breath. "You had it rough, huh?" she stifled a sob and tightens her hug.
"I don't get how I'm still the only one who's left and alive..." [Y/n] states in a breaking voice with heavy tears streaming down her face that looked so exhausted. "Did everyone die because of me? Do I cause misfortune to the people around me? Is that why I'm the only one left??"
"That's not true!" The burgundy woman interjects in a shouting voice after pulling her weeping friend away from the hug. "You still have me! I know I left you before but I promise you that I won't ever do that again because living you and everyone behind was the most painful thing I've ever done in my life... More tears cascaded down the adult [Y/n]'s face while her sobs became even louder.
"Really?" The [h/c] asks so quietly. "I knew you didn't mean those words...and do you really promise to never leave me like my family, and our friends..?" She buries her face into the palm of her hands after seeing her friend nod her head with such a tender smile and sincere gaze.
Of course [Y/n] knew in the back of her head that if it's the person's time or fate to die, it'd be impossible to fight it...but it wouldn't hurt to have faith in her friend's words at least, right, since she did fight the inevitable several time...or was it perhaps she just got lucky? No.
After such a long time in a while, just when she had given up everything in this world and is ready to end her life, a new ray of hope has come to her. Of course she wouldn't waste such an opportunity to hold onto it no matter how fragile it may be.

She's terribly exhausted of living such a cruel and cold life without even still getting over the death of the people she still holds dear and close to her heart that had shattered into a million pieces. She's still grieving all of them.
Hatsumi pulls her in for another hug. "My parents and brothers have also died years ago...and I have no one else other than you." She said while running her fingers through the woman's [h/c]. "All we have is each other now, [Y/n]..."
'Hatsumi's a smart and clever girl.'
A young woman stands inside a room with full of broken objects and pieces of it scattered all over the floor. She was responsible for the mess and while trashing or wrecking her own place, she injured her hands in the process, but she wasn't crying over that, no.
Sure, it hurt and stings while red liquid was seeping out on both of her hands but she didn't care about it...as a matter of fact, she didn't deem it to be important. All she could focus on was the pain in her chest, her heart. That was the cause of her weeping.
But the main reason for her breakdown, her heavy tears that wouldn't stop coming out of her eyes no matter how many time she wipes it away and cause for her eyes to go red was because she discovered something.
'As well as a crazy, twisted bitch who goes very well with a trash named Masashi.'
"All this time, Me, Takemichi..." She muttered with an expression that has come to realize another thing. "Every each and one of us have all been just playing repeatedly to her schemes in all those timelines, like right now...!" Her breath becomes uneven and ragged.
"And what's worse is how I didn't even notice anything...ahh..." Her voice broke. "How could she do this?!" She shouted with such pain, betrayal, and fury seen in her crying eyes.
"How could Hatsumi do this to me?!" She slams her bloody fists on the floor with clenched teeth. "I trusted her! I've been kind to her! Showed and shared my weakness, and this is what I get in return? Her betrayal?!" She starts to gnash her teeth as veins starts to pop up on her face.
"That bitch!" She grabs a nearby object and throws it against the wall, an action she did earlier. "Both her and Masashi! Just why?! WHY?!" She yelled while trashing her place even more.
"How could they do this to me..." She asked, voice quiet, shaky, and hoarse voice while sitting back down on where she sat earlier. "How foolish of me...stupid, idiot...this is my fault.."
Her breath hitches as an expression that has come to realize another thing shows on her face when two familiar figure flashed through her mind, Rika and Tetta.
The memory about the latter from a different timeline comes in mind the next. Hatsumi was telling her on how Tetta's the main culprit for killing her family and their friends along with a file of evidence she had gathered throughout the years.
'I want them dead so bad for the things they've done to everyone else, and mostly to me.'
Because of that, the [Y/n] in the memory's mind became blank as all she could see was red that before she know it, she's standing in front of Tetta's bloody and dead body. He had gunshots all over his chest.
The next memory's about Rika. She came for a visit because she was worried about the [h/c]'s state. They were just talking in the kitchen and the next thing [Y/n] knew, she was stabbing the person she was talking with just a moment ago. The [Y/n] in that memory completely looked lost.
She didn't know what happened for her get into this situation as all she could last think of was the moment Hatsumi's words echoed in her mind about Rikka helping Tetta with killing everyone to destroy her, her mind became blank again. She didn't knew what came over her to pounce then stab the dual color haired girl to her death. The memory ended with her mom seeing her.
'They made me question my entire existence.'
With eyes wide as another set of tears gushed down from her eyes with an absolutely horrified expression present on her face as the things she's done to not only those two but also to her other friends in Toman made her wail even louder.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" She repeats her words like a chant while clutching onto her hair from both sides of her head in a tight grip, but then it loosens after a few seconds and she went quiet.
[Y/n] stands up and finds her phone somewhere on floor. It's shattered but still working, and since it does, she dials a certain number while heading towards the bathroom.
'They made me think whether I was someone who's existence was a mistake...'
"Hey." Her lips curled up slowly after having her call picked up. "You want to have a party?" she asked while gazing intently at her free hand that was still bleeding before letting out a giggle.
"That's right. I want to have a blast." She looks up, eyes meeting her own on the mirror. She was smiling from ear to ear. "Thank you, Rikka." With a beep, their call ends.
Now, [Y/n] stands on top of a building under the dark sky. She looks up and finds the glimmering stars lovely. They seem like glitters.
"How lovely indeed." She giggled with her eyes now focused on a building that's on fire after it exploded a few minutes earlier. Firemen were trying their hardest to put out the blazing fire, and while they were doing that, the woman had burst out laughing.
'Someone who didn't belong anywhere, even in another world.'
That burning building belongs to Hatsumi, and just the thought of her annoyed expression made the woman laugh like a carefree person. Rikka texted her that there's a possibility for their friend to be alive turned into a crisp.
It didn't really matter to [Y/n] but having the idea of that woman being in that fire satisfies her a bit.
'A person who's cursed and causes nothing but misfortune or towards the people around me.'
"Starting today, I am free!" She let out a pleasant hum when a soft and gentle breeze passed her. She took it as the nature telling her that they agree with her. "There's no use continuing my life in this timeline anymore." She steps over the railings and stands on the edge of the building.
"Time to move to the next one." She tittered as she closed her eyes and let herself fall. "I'll make sure to make the people who tormented us all pay, everyone."
'And someone who's weak and worthless...'
There laid dead bodies on the ground, each one covered in their own pool of blood while some were splattered all over the room. Their faces were unrecognizable, like their body. They were all practically disfigured.
And somewhere in the room that was filled with the stench of blood and cries of pleas from someone, there were two, no, three.
One, a woman with rose brown hair that reaches her back was standing and simply watching from the side since from the start with an expression that's filled with amusement and satisfaction.
The other one, who's clearly the culprit, a woman as well is hitting the third and last person in the list. He's currently getting the same treatment as his four friends who has already went ahead and went to hell for the sins they've committed.
'I've turned out the way who I am today partly because of Hatsumi.'
The grown up man was crying and begging for the [h/c] woman to stop and have mercy on him but his cries and pleads fell deaf upon her ears just like how she did from the previous ones.
She kept going and going as the sound of crunching bones echoed in the room. More blood splattered in the place as well as unto her.
She stopped and gazed at the now unmoving disfigured man with sharp and cold eyes that held no sympathy, remorse, or whatsoever seen in those dull orbs of hers.
"Hatsumi..." The twenty-two year old woman trailed in quiet voice after letting go of the bloody bat and letting it roll somewhere in the room. "You won't leave me, too, right?" she asked with a hint of sadness and desperation in her tone.
'But I'm mostly at fault since I've let myself become a monster.'
The woman identified as Hatsumi smiled tenderly and hugged her tightly. "Never." With her reply, [Y/n] hummed and narrowed her eyes while her arms came to wrap around her friend's figure.
The rose brown haired woman showed a broad smile that's filled with joy that it even reached her eyes, and [Y/n]'s smile was, kind of, similar to hers.
Lips stretched from ear to ear, eyes in a crescent like shape but instead of a happy smile, hers was .
'That's right...not everything is her fault because it's mine, too.'
The fifteen year old [Y/n] wakes from her nap, and upon opening her eyes, she's greeted by the smiling moon. She sits up and arches her back as a small crack comes from it while she let out a yawn the next.
A familiar figure approaches her. "You skipped another meeting again." The boy with glasses said after halting in his steps.
"This is the third time this week." Kisaki's distaste about her action could be clearly seen, but that didn't bother her as she only laughed and stood up from the wooden bench, both hands inside her pocket.
Just like her friend, she's also currently wearing the same clothes. The standard Toman uniform.
"Hatsumi wanted to hang out." [Y/n] informed as she raked a hand through her hair while Kisaki's frown deepened at what he heard.
"How long are you planning to act as her marionnette?" He asks with a scoff. "You've been repeatedly going back time over and over just to mess with her. When exactly are you planning to strike and fight?"
'It's my fault that everything got this messy and complicated.'
The girl shows a wicked smile. "I've been having so much fun tormenting that bitch." She said with a laugh before walking a step ahead. "And you know that ever since she caught on that I'm also playing with her," she pauses for a moment to sight.
"She's been using some pretty dirty tricks that delays and mess up my plans." She taps her head with an expression that's filled with disdain. "She's not someone that should be underestimated to begin with, I know..." She clench her fists as her eyes go sharp and cold.
'Unlike the others who only remembers a small bit that happened in different timelines, latest or not, they do.'
"That's why I've been things slow and steady or else everything I've planned for will all go to waste." With her back now facing him, she quietly add. "But the time where I'll have to end everything...it'll come soon."
After that, no one spoke and went silent causing for the tension to remain heavy. The silence between them lasted for about a minute and when that passed, [Y/n] turns and faces the boy again.
"Thanks for worrying, Tetta-chan." She slung an arm around him with a chuckle, and her actions made the said boy to huff.
'Some have small bits of memories while some don't.'
