'Hatsumi was once my friend.'
A lovely tune could be heard playing all throughout the first floor of an elementary school, and the person who was making that happen was an eleven year old girl who has [h/l] [h/c], a student of said school. It's an unfamiliar song to anyone, but nonetheless calming and melodic.
[Y/n] halted and turned her head when she felt someone staring or watching. She smiled and waved her hand at the cute girl who's brown eyes were sparkling due to admiration but when caught, she averted eye contact and dashed away with red hue spreading across her cheeks.
"Oh, you're back here again!" Exclaimed happily the [h/c] child with a beaming smile plastered on her face while the person she was referring to has a hand over their chest.
A girl with long silky brown hair, fair and smooth skin with rosy cheeks, pink lips, and big brown innocent eyes that went wide for a second as she was startled by the sudden voice that spoke behind her. The child was like a living doll.
'I don't know what happened for her to become the person who she is today.'
"Anyways, do you like to play the piano, too?" [Y/n] asked while opening the door of the music room since she's always received permission from the teachers and even principal to use the piano as they all enjoy the music she plays.
"Do you want to play along with me? Have a duet perhaps?" She turns around to glance at the brunette who still stood on the doorway. "Are you worried if the teacher would scold us for using the piano? Don't worry, my homeroom teacher, Akari-sensei always does her work here since she also finds the music I play relaxing, and well, to watch over me as well." She tells her gently with a smile just to assure her.
"She's nice and I'm sure she wouldn't mind a new company." She adds lastly for more assurance.
"It's not that..." Hatsumi's eyes went left, right, up, and down. She was clearly troubled by something, and that the other girl could tell. "T-Truthfully, I don't know how to p-play!" She shuts her mouth after a gasp of realization left first. She didn't mean to say that loudly..
"I...I only come here to listen to you play since your music helps me focus better in my studies." She admits albeit shyly. "You see, on that day when you, uhm, saw me...I was having a bad day since I was still having a hard time catching up with the lesson my teacher discussed about," she pauses for a moment as she starts to fumble with her fingers.
'When I first met her, she was someone with a pure soul.'
"My father scolded me for having a low score on my English test unlike my two older brothers who got perfect scores." She pursed her lips as sadness could be seen in her brown eyes. "Not to mention that my mother also got angry at me because of that..." Her glum demeanor disappeared in a blink of an eye as her eyes were now sparkling with adoration and joy.

With the brunette's smile reaching her eyes, she huffs out in excitement. "I always found piano performances just okay and sometimes even boring, but when I saw and heard you play that day, I was in so much awe!" She states with enthusiasm and continues to speak just like that.
"Since that day, I became interested in piano that I even tried to play it not too long!" All of a sudden Hatsumi went silent with her head hung low. It made [Y/n] wonder what's wrong with the beautiful child all of a sudden since she got all quiet, but then it came to her.
She thinks that Hatsumi must've gone shy for babbling because of excitement, and that made her to release a giggle making for the brunette girl to finally raise her head.
'An innocent and cute child...'
"I'm happy to hear and know that you also enjoy the music I play." [Y/n] tells her through a broad smile to ease the other child's worries, but the longing look her eyes gave away now made Hatsumi wonder what that exactly meant.
Letting out a light hum, the girl with [h/c] pulls the chair that was in front of the piano. "I have my grandparents to thank for the piano skills I have as of today, since they were the ones who taught me how to play this instrument at a very young age." Her lips and eyes went into a crescent like shape when she showed another smile.
"With that said, I'm willing to share what my grandparents had taught me before." Hatsumi's eyes sparkled as she found the girl's smile dazzling and warm. "That is if you only want to, of course."
"Definitely!" The brunette child answered with such a big and bright smile. "I'll be in your care then! Thank you!" She bows her head along with her torso making for [Y/n] to laugh softly as she thinks once again that the girl in front of her was adorable and lively.
"I'm [F/n] [L/n]. Class 5-3." She introduced herself with a bow of her head and a smile still present on her face which made for the other child to do the same.
"I'm Hatsumi Ishimoto! Class 6-2!" The brunette says quite loudly due to excitement once again and with determination glinting in those brown eyes of hers.
"Oh, you're a year above and older!" [Y/n] gestures for her to sit down which Hatsumi followed. The piano lesson started not too long after the two girls chatted for a bit and the teacher that was mentioned earlier arrived.
The woman heard giggling and laughter from two young bright smiling girls. It was a heartwarming scene that wouldn't fail to make anyone smile.
'As no one starts off with being an evil person, after all.'
"Hey, [Y/n]-chan. Do you compose your own music?" Asked the curious brunette as the music she was playing on the piano stopped. "I know some of them are from that Ghibli studio but the others...I can't find them no matter how hard I search." she turns around to face her friend who also halted in her movements.
[Y/n] shifted her gaze between Hatsumi and her drawing on the sketchpad. "Well, uh, I don't really know the title as well since I heard them from my grandparents as well." she answered through a tight lipped smile while the other girl nodded her head in understanding and went back to practicing.

The [h/c] girl let out a quiet sigh of relief and went back to drawing as well to calm her nerves down.
'We were okay.'
"[Y/n]!" Hatsumi almost squealed while running towards the person she shouted for. "Hey, Mikey-kun. Draken-kun!" She gave a quick greeting to the people standing behind the [h/c] girl. "My father finally agreed to buying me a violin!" she informed in a bubbly tone out of sheer delight with twinkling eyes towards her friend.
"Really? That's wonderful news!" Exclaimed [Y/n] with the same energy. "You're a fast learner and pretty talented in music instruments so I'm sure you'll master how to play the violin in a blink of an eye, and when that happens, let's have a duet. I have the perfect music in mind!"
Hatsumi hummed cheerfully in response while the two boys walked away and let them have their moment since they already feel left out...
"As long as I keep up with those good grades, that violin will be mine!" [Y/n] hypes her friend up while Emma and Senju, who both arrived at the same time, question what's happening since they can literally see the fire in both girls' eyes at a short distance.
'She gets along with Mikey and the others as well.'
"I bet I can play better than you." The thirteen year old Manjiro states quite cheekily while Hatsumi was carefully putting the violin instrument back to its case.
"With what?" She turned her head. "With those horrible shrieking sounds you played last time? No thank you." She flashes an innocent and bright smile.
"You play as if you intend to make everyone turn deaf. With that said, I would never trust my precious Lin to you ever again." She ends her speech with a scoff making for Mikey to pout his lips then shoot a glare towards his laughing friends: Draken, Keisuke, Kazutora, and Pah-chin.
"Why are you even bringing that violin when it's a study session we're having, huh?!" The blonde boy who was a little embarrassed now squints his eyes towards the still smiling girl.
"So she could hog [Y/n], ." Masashi was the one who answered with a bright smile as he sat back down on his spot, beside Kazutora, after using the restroom. "It's good that you want to spend some alone time with her, but you should put a limit since it's not just you who wants to do that."
Despite the smile plastered on his face and how he delivered his words in an oh-so-kind manner, the hint of disgust could be seen if one would look closer, but of course, that's only in a playful demeanor.
No hidden bad feelings or contempt...well, maybe a little.
"Shut up." Hatsumi hissed, cheeks going red for being called out after Mikey and the others all nodded their heads in agreement. "What're you even doing here anyways?" She huffed then narrowed her eyes towards the boy who's sitting across the table from her.
"I thought you said you'll be hanging out with those obnoxious friends of yours today." She picks up her pen to point it at the dark haired boy whose eyes narrowed and glinted with a dangerous look.
"They aren't my friends anymore." Masashi replied in a tight lipped smile which made for the others to notice that dangerous vibe emitting from him again.
It seems like that doesn't fail to surprise them since they're reminded once again that their friend can be quite scary at times, especially when angry, and that he's who has a very weak punch...
"Ah, yeah. He heard 'em talking shit about [Y/n] with those nasty rumors we know, so he beat 'em up." Draken says with a chuckle and a toothy grin, clearly proud. "Dude really gave them a great beating." He adds while the boy he's pointing his thumb at looks smug.
"Your old man must've given you an earful of shitty nagging." Kazutora comments with a little laugh and smile.
"Oh, yeah." Masashi sighs with a shaking head. "You know how my father prioritizes family reputation." He sees Hatsumi nod her head in with a sympathetic smile and empathic gaze.
"Sheesh. If there's something you three each have something in common." Pah-chin hums. "It's the fact that your dads are a bunch of shitty old farts." Hatsumi stifles her laugh while a snort comes from both Masashi and Kazutora.
"Maybe we should just beat 'em up." Mikey states so seriously making for Draken and Keisuke to deadpan while Pah-chin wholeheartedly agrees as he cracked his knuckles.
"You guys better be studying instead of talking about fighting." Spoke [Y/n] who just came out from the kitchen of the house she and her family lives in with two plates of onigiri or rice balls occupying both her hands while Emma trails behind her with a glass pitcher full of juice.
Seeing that everyone became silent, the girl deadpans an expression at her friends. "Seriously...?" She sighs while Emma laughs at them.
"Well, my brain can't handle this shit." Pah-chin's words and his constipated expression made everyone laugh while [Y/n] and Emma both put what they're holding down on the table.
"I mean, seriously!" Continued the same boy who's now eating like the others. "Math's already hard with just those numbers!" Pah picks up his notebook to show it to the group. Since he's ranting about math, of course that's what he's studying.
The only problem was some of the answers were wrong while the formula was right, some held correct answers but the formula was wrong but he still got it (????), and some of the formulas he used in different ways to solve a problem were all mixed up.
In short, Pah's studying were all over the place. There were a couple of doodles here and there. Like that poop drawing on the top corner for example...
A complete utter mess his notebook was.
"So why and who the fuck did decide to add letters on it?!" Fumed the boy before focusing on eating his snack and drinking his juice instead before his head explodes from all the math numbers he's thinking about.
"Anyways," [Y/n] cleared her throat after laughing with the others as well. "Keisuke. What's this supposed to be?" She asks with a forefinger pointing at a certain sentence on the ravenette's notebook.
"The weather is beautiful." Replied the boy using the English language. It was cute considering the fact that he was proud of himself on how he said that almost perfectly while the young girl who asked the question shifted her gaze back and forth between her friend and the sentence that's written on the notebook she's holding: The wieder is beutipul. (???)
Both Masashi and Hatsumi's laughter boomed in the living room after they both got up and took a look at how the short sentence was written.
'Everything was okay.'

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
