《The Phoenix. Poems》Lot

I will fly away on the wings of freedom,

I will fly away into the distance.

I will leave the land of sin and anger,

I will not look back there.

I won't look, I won't look.

I, without a name, turn to salt, and die.

And I already thought,

I am leaving this terrible land.

Forever free.

But you, Lot (1), go far away.

Run forward and don't stop.

I just wanted to see you,

to see your lovely eyes.

I want you so, so much.

I will remember it forever,

these feelings, and our story.

And I will remember it far away,

on the other side.

Inkitt and Wattpad do not support annotations, which I use in my books:

1) Author's note - Lot is a biblical figure. He was the only person to survive the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. He was leaving town with an unnamed wife. The only condition for their safe exit, was that they wouldn't look back. Lot's nameless wife did this and turned into a pillar of salt).
