《Protected by BTS》Chapter 55: Lockdown

The barrel of the gun stared down your sights and the man with the automated voice was intent on having his way. "Drop it." The robotic voice coming from his mask commanded. Immediately, your fingers elongated and let the phone drop to the floor. The phone cracked slightly upon impact and the man kicked it further away from your reach, most likely creating more cracks into the screen.
"You're Bangtan's new little toy, huh?" He said as more of a statement as he walked towards you. You took this small chance and gambled on speed. Reaching for his gun, you held his wrist up in the air before he could try to shoot you. Taken back, you elbowed his gut, causing him to flinch and double over.
He pulled your arms away and spun you around, trying to enclose you. With your back on his chest, you threw your head back, knocking his jaw. You were both disoriented as head butting is a two way pain street.
You stumbled over to where he kicked your phone and quickly sent your 'SOS' message to the rest of the boys.
A gunshot rang out, making you freeze on the floor. The phone still in your hand, you were successful in sending it. The man had shot right next to your ear, making you momentarily deaf. The constant and annoying ringing of the shot, buzzing in your ear. The man grew angry, ordering you to, "Drop the phone." But you couldn't hear him.
He realized this and rolled his eyes. His gaze turned to his left where your laptop was wide open and showed all the work you've been doing.
Dragging you by the hair, he placed the laptop in front of you. He pushed the barrel of the gun to your temple and you gasped in fear. "Lift the security measures. Let us get out of here or I'll shoot you and figure it out myself!"
Your hearing was minimal but you understood what he said.Your head instinctively nodded as you knew you had no other choice. Fingers flying all over the keyboard, you reversed all procedural commands you had installed onto the building once the shooting started.
In a flash, you could audibly hear the lockdown being lifted and the doors opening around the warehouse. "Thank you, sweetheart." The voice grimaced. He retracted his gun from your head. You sighed in relief before feeling a harsh blow to the side of your head.

The man forcefully bashed the butt of his gun to your skull. You groaned in pain before falling to the floor unconscious. "I think we'll be seeing each other real soon." The man cackled under his mask, standing over your figure.
Another man ran into the room, with the same black attire and mask that scrambled his voice to make it sound robotic. "You secured our exit? Good job."
"We should leave. She contacted Bangtan, they'll be here soon." The first man alerted his superior.
"Damn." Was all he could say as he had to change the game plan. "Alright, tell the men to take whatever they want and torch the place. I want to be out of here in 5 minutes."
~~~
Jimin ran out of the security room and had thought you would be safe. He ran down the hall and into the corridor to the main entrance. There were about 20 men already starting to shoot about at Bangtan's men and grab anything they could from their storage.
Jimin ran to the first enemy in his sights. Uppercutting him immediately and bashing his head onto the ground, successfully knocking him out.
Dodging the next man with a gun, he ducked for cover behind some of the boxes.Reaching for his own gun, Jimin started to shoot. With rapid fire, he incapacitated 5 attackers until he was out of bullets.
The playing field was still uneven, with 4 Bangtan members alive including Jimin, and 9 attackers left. Bodies still scattered about and blood started to pool around the floor.
Jumping out from his cover point, Jimin was met with a large and burly man, probably the size of a sumo wrestler. He gulped harshly at his opponent and instantly threw one of the hardest punches he had ever thrown in his entire life.
The impact to the man's stomach only hurt Jimin instead of the other man. "Ah, shibal." Jimin cursed at how strong and big this man was.
The sumo wrestler picked Jimin up like a child and threw him across the room. Jimin hit the wall with his back and fell roughly on the concrete floor, groaning. He forced his arms to push himself up, but with shaky movements, he lacked any more strength. His body failed him as his chest collapsed onto the floor once again and he succumbed to the cold floor.
The other 3 men of Bangtan also weren't holding up well. The situation was dire, especially when the sumo wrestler stomped over to Jimin, ready to finish him with a final blow.
Standing over the helpless Jimin, the man was ready to kill him then and there.
~~~
Jungkook was finishing the last screws of the outside of the building. As a perfectionist, he wanted to make sure the angles were perfect so there wouldn't be any blind spots.
Satisfied with his work, he started to climb down from the ladder when he cringed at the sudden 'pop"-ing sound of familiar gunfire. He jumped from the rings of the ladder to the floor, immediately scanning the area.
He ran to the side of the building where he saw 3 truckloads of men and empty space waiting to rob the warehouse. However, he noticed that the large metal door they had just installed was already locked shut. It seemed as if a lockdown was already in place as the remaining men outside tried to shoot at the door.
He knew it was bulletproof and that they had no chance of getting in without your permission. Since he was by himself in the outskirts of the building, the enemy hadn't seen him.
Reaching for his gun, he counted his bullets. 4 bullets. Jungkook cursed himself for not getting another load of ammunition or at least taking a full cartridge. With 4 bullets, he had to take care of the 9 men outside.
~~~
Sweat dropped from Jungkook's neck and forehead as he finished off the remaining men outside. With his raw strength and 4 bullets, he was able to silently take them out, without noticing —a strategy when outnumbered.
During his last few kills, the lockdown had lifted, opening the large metal doors to the warehouse. About to run into the building, he had stopped himself as he watched a small group of the enemy stride back outside.
Jungkook hid himself well when he saw their figures. "What the hell happened here?" An automated voice coming from the center of the enemy group yelled.
No one in particular was asked and no one in particular answered. He groaned and took his seat in the van. "Just hurry up and gas the place so we can leave. Bangtan will be here soon."
His men frantically ran about and Jungkook watched in horror as they finished pouring gasoline throughout the building. He could do nothing without being noticed and it would be futile for him to do anything.
The men ran back outside which indicated they were done. "Good, let's move." The engines of the car started and the other man with a robotic voice lit a match from his pocket. Laughing maniacally, he threw the match into the building, watching it instantly set ablaze.
~~~
"You idiots!" The masked man with the robotic voice was slammed into the wall by the familiar ahjussi.
"Hey! Don't treat my-" The other masked man started to shout but was greeted with a gunshot wound to the leg.
"Hyung!" The first one was able to get out of the ahjussi's grasp and run to his cousin. "Jongsuk hyung?!" Hanbin applies pressure to the wound.
Jongsuk grunted in pain and the ahjussi bent down to inspect the wound. "He's fine. It's a clean shot." He said and proceeded to rip the mask off of both of their faces. "And take off the goddamn masks. They're ridiculous."
"You're the one that hired us and told us to wear it." Hanbin scoffed.
"Well I didn't fucking hire you to burn their warehouse to the ground with them still in it. I need them alive goddamn it!" The ahjussi yelled and punched Hanbin square in the nose. "You better fucking hope that girl and those stupid Bangtan Boys made it out of there alive. Or else it's your head I'm coming for next." The ahjussi spits in Hanbin's face.
"You guys hired us to rob them! The first time we shot at them with live bullets yet you don't want us to kill them now." Hanbin wipes the grotesque saliva off of his eye.
"Orders from above. You know how they are. Or more specifically, you know how she is. She has a plan and she needs them all fucking alive you pathetic idiots!" The man found himself to be riled up once again.
Hanbin sighed, helping his hyung up. "This is bullshit. You guys better not break your promise."
"For your sakes, you guys better have not killed my niece." The ahjussi retorts before striding off into the shadows of the building.

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have. Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect.But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer.What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots.And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer.So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.

Well, that wasn't true, he had imagined something close to that scenario many times, but when it comes true?
