"Wan! It's no use," Wanda said, giving up on her fledgling drumming career. She sloshed a few steps back and looked at the door, which had a few bespoke dents in it, but otherwise looked unmarred.

"Don't give up, Wanda," I motivated her. "All you need is some practice, and a good venue. I'm sure your music career will take off!"

She gave me a sidelong glance, narrowing her eyes at me. "Master, if you want to make a living in an artistic venture, it's not about talent, wan. It's 10% talent, 40% extreme dedication and effort, and 50% luck. It doesn't matter how good you are if you don't put in the effort to be seen, wan."

"I believe in you!" I shouted, pumping my fist and inspiring her.

She stood hip-deep in the water and stared at me, clearly and visibly overwhelmed with inspiration, so much that she couldn't even choke out a response. She sighed and shook her head in awe at my motivational prowess and turned to gesture at the door.

"Wan! Wanda was trying to open the door, wan!"

Oh! That made a lot of sense, now that I thought about it. Still, I couldn't help but give her headpats. If she wanted to open the door, you're supposed to use the knob! I knew that by the time I was 8 years old, so it was a little silly that she was trying to punch her way through, as an adult. Still, as a dog girl, I knew she was part dog and part girl, so I guess I shouldn't have expected too much from her in the smart-thinks department.

I reached out to open the door, and didn't see something that shocked me to my core! The doorknob... was missing?!

"What sorcery is this?!" I shouted, ducking down to investigate the official, government sanctioned 'doorknob area' of the door. I stared back at the water, and felt a chill go down my spine. This... this wasn't an accident. We'd fallen victim to somebody's fiendish ploy. If this room was filling up with water, and the doors didn't have doorknobs, then...

"Oh no!" I shouted suddenly. "They trapped us! Our clothes are going to get super wet!" I blushed suddenly, imaging Wanda and Bonbon in wet clothing. I glanced blushingly over at Bonbon, to whom the water was already starting to raise to about belly-button height. Her chef's coat was white, so if it got wet, I'm sure I could maybe see the vague impression of her bra's shape through the thick, sturdy cotton. H-how scandalous!

I went to look at Wanda to think similarly uncharitable thoughts when something else came to the forefront of my mind. Frowning, I appraised my status once more using my [Appraisal (but secretly infinite knowledge)] skill:

I let out a sigh of relief and used my [Instantly Learn Skill] skill to learn [Gill-Having Basics]

H-huh? The shadow cast by my bangs began to grow, casting even more of my face into grim shadow. T-that was some kind of mean, unfunny joke, right? If so, I wasn't laughing! I was doing the opposite of laughing, making a series of short wheezing intakes of air in my distress.

"OH NO!" I shouted, "WE'RE GOING TO DROWN!"

I immediately began to panic, vibrating gently and holding my hand in my heads. The water was already up to our mid-stomach now. I... I was going to die?! I couldn't die yet! I only had two girls in my harem, and I'd get laughed at in Isekai Heaven, forever. Plus, what if there wasn't even an Isekai Heaven? Death might just be the end. You don't get second chances, after all! I had so many things left to do. Apologize to Kamiko for one, but also more important things like landing a double kickflip, kissing a girl, holding hands with a girl, other girl-related activities. I was also planning on learning how to juggle at some point, but it looks like that was never going to happen! I was going to die! I was going to die! I was going to die (x15)!

"Wan!" Wanda barked angrily, shaking me by the shoulder and interrupting my background noise. "Don't just stand there, wan! You're the strongest one here, get us out!"

S-she was right! I looked over at Bonbon, who had a crab knife (which I was disappointed to see wasn't shaped like a crab, and was instead just long and thin) and was trying to pry at the edge of the door. These girls... they were counting on me. I was strong and handsome, and I couldn't let these hot, busty anime babes meet their hot, busty doom! I had to do something. But... what?

I resisted the urge to check my status again, and instead elected to read back a few paragraphs to look it over. D-damn it. No matter how much I reread it, I didn't have any [Skills], [Artes], or [Spells] that controlled water. The best thing I could do would probably be sucking it up in my [Dimension Box], but I also had most of my stuff in that, and I didn't know if that might make everything all wet.

The rules about how a [Dimension Box] worked were really poorly laid out, so it was hard to say. Usually, they tended to just arbitrarily change to work in whichever way was most convenient for me at the time regardless of whether that contradicted previous depictions. But... could I really count on that being the case? I still had all our tickets in there, and that scooter-

"HIRO-WAN!" Wanda shouted, directly in my ear. I frowned at the loud, rude nature of her call, but also blushed because a girl's lips were close to my head, and by proximity, face. Was this what they called an indirect kiss?! I looked over at Wanda, blushing, as she glared me in the eyes, her head tilted back to keep her chin out of the water.

"STOP OVERTHINKING IT AND JUST PUNCH DOWN THE FUCKING DOOR, WAN!"

Punching? I looked at Wanda, the gears in my head suddenly kicking into second gear. That was it! Punching!

"Wanda!" I shouted, hovering my hands a millimeter over the sides of her shoulders. "You're a genius!"

I equipped my fists, and clenched them tight. Of course! I don't know why I hadn't thought of that to begin with. I activated my skill, and swiped my fist through the water. As it passed through the water, a trail of bubbles was left behind, my fist effectively erasing the water with each pass.

I began to punch rapidly, at about 0.66 Oras. (TL Note: 1 Ora ~= 0.97 Mudas ~= 1.2 Atatas) The water churned around me as my fists removed it, and the water level gradually decreased. Bonbon stopped treading water, bracing herself against the wall as she took deep breaths.

Wanda stared down at my fist, cocking her head to one side as I continued to erase the water. It was obvious that she wanted an explanation, and a glance at her face confirmed that I was correct this time, instead of inadvertently and hilariously misinterpreting her inner thoughts and feelings, which I never do and never will do.

"[Elemental Fists]," I explained. "Water is made up of two [Elements]: [Hydrogen] and [Oxygen]. With each fist, I'm converting it from water molecules to its two elements."

"Um... Isn't Water an element?" Bonbon asked, putting her finger to her bottom lip in a cute way. I wanted to give her headpats, but restrained myself, because my current hand speed and [Skill] would probably fucking murder her if I tried.

I shook my head. "No," I explained. "Your scientists and researchers who have spent their entire lives studying your world are unfortunately misinformed. As somebody from a smarter, more educated world, I can tell you that your world with Magic, Monsters, and a Gamelike [System] definitely follows all the same laws of physics as my own, and has the exact same composition as my own, at least unless breaking those laws would benefit one of my plans."

"Um..."

"Are [Oxygen] and [Hydrogen] dangerous, wan?" Wanda asked.

I shook my head. "They're both natural chemicals. You can find them all over the place in nature. [Oxygen] is what we breath, and its also a potent accelerant and oxidizer," I recited from a website I was reading on my [Brain Cell Phone]. "[Hydrogen] is the most common element in the universe, and is an extremely flammable, extremely light, fairly corrosive gas."

Wanda tensed up for some reason, and Bonbon stopped striking the steel door with her knife. They both looked down at my fists, which had completely converted most of the water into its component gasses.

I finished up after a few more swings, and noticed that the water had stopped flowing in, probably having run out. I unequipped my fists and grinned a smile at my expertly-executed plan. I walked past Wanda, who was looking nervously around the chamber, and Bonbon, who seemed kind of paralyzed for some reason, probably admiration of me.

"How to get out..." I mused. Ah, of course!

"I have [Arch Welding]," I said out loud, to myself. "I can probably burn a hole through this door, no problem!"

Bonbon unfroze and stretched her hand out to me as I walked up to the door and lifted my finger.

"H-Hiro-san, wai-"

I aimed my finger at the wall and activated my skill.
