Chapter 1.2: That time when I was reincarnated by my old classmate and told about the Demon Lord
"Choutto hang on a second," I said, my voice wavering with fear and surprise and shock. "When were you planning on telling me about this Demon Lord I supposedly have to kill?"
Kamiko tapped her chin with one finger, looking up at the sky with all infinite of the eyes on her classic Kamiko eye-wheel.
"Hmm. In about 30 seconds," she hmmed.
"That's the sort of thing you have to tell somebody right away!" I chastised her, putting both of my hands behind my back to show that there would be no headpats today on account of her mischief. "I never agreed to kill a Demon Lord! Why would I want to be resurrected into a kickass fantasy world full of hot busty anime babes, complete with ridiculous cheat powers if it meant that I had some kind of responsibility or goal?"

"If you kill the Demon Lord, you get a rare Achievement added to your status card." Kamiko explained, "Which you can show in your Steam profile."
"Sign me up immediately," I told her, doing mental kickflips over how darn excited I was to be a big damn Hero in a big damn Fantasy World. Kamiko grinned a smile at me, glowing with girlish charm and divine presence as she slid the wood panel off of her lectern, revealing a large series of buttons.
"Each of these buttons gives you a different power," she explained, casually tapping one of the buttons. Instantly, I learned the Level 10 Spell: [Blaze Ollie]. "We'll have to decide which one is best for you, and then send you on your way~!"
She leaned her elbow on the lectern, smiling down at me as I instantly gained the [Godly Chef] skill and the [Vending Machine] DLC perk. This was tough! The sort of Cheat Skill I got would determine what kind of experience I would have in the Kickass Fantasy World. What if I got something lame like [Win Almost Everything, But Not Everything] or [Appraisal (But secretly infinite knowledge)]? I rubbed my chin as Kamiko sneezed cutely and hit some more buttons on accident, giving me both of those aforementioned skills.
"That sounds tough," I said, wondering which Cheat Skill I would get. "How do you usually decide?"
"Weeeeelllll...." she said, "Sometimes they'll have one trait that we hyper-fixate on. Sometimes we'll interpret their last thoughts in a hilarious way to give them semi-ironic skills that just happen to be ridiculously overpowered. Sometimes we'll just give them whatever seems funny at the time."
I couldn't believe she was taking this so not-serious! This was my future life! I immediately stopped laughing at the Meme Compilation vol 29: Bruh Edition now playing on the [Brain Cellphone] skill she'd accidentally given me 2 seconds ago, and scowled at her.

"Whatever you decide to give me, it better be good! Especially if I'm going to kill a Demon Lord!"
"Don't worry," she replied, "Even though the Demon Lord threatens the entire world, they're a big pushover. I bet you'll win the final battle in a really anti-climactic way that prevents a satisfactory ending and so drags the story on for years and years."
"Sigh," I sighed a sigh of relief. "That's relieving."
"Give me whatever ol' power you've got laying around!" I told her. She nodded, and reached under the lectern.
"Well, I got a big old book of powers here, so I can look up a really good one!"
She lifted the book and slammed it on top, pressing every key instantly. Instantly, I felt myself teleporting away, which is familiar enough to most people that I don't need to describe it. Kamiko looked up and turned into a black and white monochrome CG still in shock.
"Oh no!" she said, "I must have accidentally hit the 'Resurrect' button! I still haven't picked out your Cheat Skill yet!"
This... wasn't good. I was isekaing into a game-like litRPG fantasy world, and she still hadn't picked out a Cheat Skill yet? Would I be able to survive on my own, with only the mediocre skills I'd already received? I clenched my eyes shut, activating my [Absolute Invulnerability] just in case I teleported a few feet above the ground and might scrape my knees. This was going to be tough!

The Crucible - (Terror Infinity Fanfic)
There has always been those that stood out from the crowd. Heroes of old, undefeated warriors and demigods battling beasts of myth. These stories are written off as fiction and folk stories of ignorant people long lost to time. Nothing to prove them true except old family stories but what if people just weren't looking in the right place. Old truths no longer apply to the modern age of science but that doesn't stop them. The system that protects and finds these great people still exists and asks the same question it always has. “Do you want more than this life? Want to live… a real life?” YES/NO Who hasn't read Terror Infinity and thought I wonder what upgrades I would choose. I love the Web Novel and Side B. I did change a lot but the basic premise is still the same. Feel free to leave thoughts and suggestions in the comments. This is my first attempt at writing and I haven't done much of it since I left University 13 years ago. This is also more of a hobby than trying to become an author but that doesn't mean I will drop it just don't expect fast releases. I will mainly work on an Arc and post the arc's chapters in groups when I finish a whole arc. Kinda like Side B used to be.
