《Cubits Can't Save You Now (In Progress)》Mini Story 4: A Tale of Trauma

Well, it was hard, but I kinda chose where I wanna stay and who I got to be roommates with. I'll admit, it ain't much like home, but I guess I gotta get used to it. I looked at the guy with the big arm's boulder-lookin' home in.. whatever feelin' I got, I can't tell what it is.
"Welcome new home, Rokit!" Exclaimed the big arm guy.
"You stay here until Darkness defeated!"
I just shrugged and then we both went inside to see a couch with a cubit-patterned blanket sitting on it, a full kitchen, a stone coffee table, a bed (which I think might be for the big arm guy), and even a television. I don't think I could've thought that I'd live in a boulder, but here we are.
"Remember, you sleep couch, I get bed, and switch if okay." Apologized the big arm guy.
Yep, I knew I'd get the couch.
"Fair enough, soldier." I told him.
"Also, I not soldier, I Krader! But okay if call me 'soldier'." Corrected the big arm guy.
"Fine by me, I guess." I said.
I then zoomed over to the couch, because if I wanna get all the energy I lost during the incident, I need sleep right here, right now. I put the blanket on top of me, put my head on one of the couch's arms, closed my eyes and then I started to doze off, until..
"Oh, you sleep now? Great idea! Night-night!" Exclaimed Krader.
"..Alright, good night." I told Krader.
After that interruption, I then closed my eyes again, and now I began to doze off.
I woke up on the floor of what seemed to be some part of a fun house with a million mirrors on the red walls. The floor was brown, and golden garlands were hung about the mirror and below some string lights. I get up on my legs and.. wait, what?

I looked to my feet and I saw..
I'm not floatin'. Why am I not floatin'? HOW am I now floating?
Suddenly, some weird music played, and it just made this moment much weirder and kinda creepier than it's supposed to be.
With my new ability to.. walk, I went forward towards a light. However, I heard a door opening, and then I heard a laugh.. it sounded exactly like my laugh, but kinda bitcrushed.
I immediately looked behind myself only to find a corrupted version of myself exiting a mirror which was actually a door, and then the version of myself flew right above me (which caused me to duck so he wouldn't hit me), towards the light.
"Hey, WAIT!" I shouted at my corrupted self.
I ran towards my corrupted self, ignoring the music, ignoring everything in my path except the light and my corrupted self. However, the light grew brighter, so I stopped to shield my eyes with my pincers, and then... everything was pure white, I couldn't see a thing that wasn't white no more, except for that corrupted version of me, who just stood still, and I stood still as well just lookin' at him.
"I §êě ýøų łø-o-ò-õsţ hõpę, håvəņ'ť ýøu?" Said the corrupted version.
"..What? I thought I was lookin' for the light. I wanted to know what it was." I said.
"...śô đīffêŕęñt, ąřə wė?" Asked the corrupted version.
I suddenly got confused and blinked twice. What the heck is he talking about? The corrupted version suddenly turned into a pile of The Darkness, which jumped in front of me and formed a dome around me. A ton of memories with Nurp-Naut were playin' inside the dome, even ones I don't remember happenin'!
Since when did the Glowkies come to Nurp-Naut's room? Why's Nurp-Naut running with Burnard from the Glowkies? WHAT IS GOING ON!?

"Nurp want crater-tots, now!" Shouted Nurp in one memory.
"Juice-juice, me miss you!" Exclaimed a mix of Nurp-Naut and Meltus (It's probably Meltus, but I don't know) in another memory.
"Tell the kid a story!" Said Naut in another memory.
I watched as the memories brought tears to my eyes, and then I covered my ears, but the memories kept running and running, reminding me of Nurp-Naut gettin' corrupted. Why did this have to happen? Why now? WHY HERE!?
I KNOW I'M GETTIN' HYPOCRITICAL, BUT THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH OF NURP-NAUT!
"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" I shouted at the dome.
"PLEASE, JUST SHUT YOUR TRAP!"
But nothing happened, and the memories STILL played. I just couldn't take it, I HAD TO SILENCE THE DARKNESS! I shot multiple lasers into the dome, leaving the dome lookin' like Swiss cheese, and ONLY THEN the memories FINALLY stopped, but the dome then cracked like glass, and then...
Its shards rained down upon me, covering my body in The Darkness.
All of a sudden, I woke up as I immediately rose up from the couch in a panic. I looked around my surroundings, only to find.. I'm finally out of the dream. I sighed in relief and went back to my comfortable position, I breathed in, and then I breathed out.
However, Krader suddenly started walkin' towards me, lookin' real concerned. I must've woken him up somehow.
"You okay?" Asked Krader.
"I'm fine, it was just a nightmare." I told him.
"Besides, it'd be hard to explain."
Krader shrugged and then he went to the kitchen, probably to cook somethin' up that could calm me down. I really needed it anyway, because I guess I just might be missin' Nurp-Naut a lot. Yeah, that must be the cause of my weird nightmare, just a tribemate missin' from my life... Yeah.

Keepers of the Neeft
The Indigo Empire has conquered half the world’s nations, their people, and their gods. According to its citizens, old and new, the rest of the world will follow. In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.
