《Cubits Can't Save You Now (In Progress)》Chapter 19: Little Bakery of Horrors

(Fun Fact: The title of this chapter is a reference to "Little Shop of Horrors".)
Meanwhile, Gobba was on a boat and scooping some salt water from the sea into his mouth, while Sam and Max were fighting off a giant octopus.
"Uh, Gobba? Are you gonna help or what?" Max called out to Gobba.
"No worries, just getting a drink from this giant river!" Gobba shouted back.
But then the boat that Gobba was on started to slightly glitch, and then it started up on its own. Gobba walked to the control panel in curiosity, but there were so many buttons and small levers that he couldn't figure out which one was the on or off button. Suddenly, the boat glitched once again, and then the screen started flashing neon colors, and then the boat went forward to head for the octopus, causing Gobba to fall onto the floor of the boat. Before the boat could even touch the octopus, however, it glitched and then Gobba and the boat suddenly teleported in the middle of Lalaloopsyland, and then the boat turned itself off, only for it to leak The Darkness and grow legs made of The Darkness on its sides.
Gobba yelped and ran to the back of the boat in which he jumped off, but then the back legs of the corrupted boat grew arms and grabbed Gobba. Gobba chomped the glitchy arms off of him and spat out The Darkness from his mouth, running towards a pastel-colored bakery shop (with its windows and its doors boarded up) afterwards. Cut to the inside of the bakery where we see Crumbs Sugar Cookie sitting against the door, a worried look on her face and a rolling pin in her hand. Suddenly, Gobba chomped a whole into the wall between the boarded up window and the door, and ran inside, and then he grabbed Crumbs and ran behind the counter where he decided to hide.

Gobba panted in fear, and then Crumbs looked at Gobba in confusion.
"Who are yo-" Gobba suddenly shushed Crumbs.
"One, I'm eating. Two, The Darkness is out there!" Whispered Gobba.
"..Are you afraid of the dark?" Assumed Crumbs.
"No! That glitchy slime is called 'The Darkness'!" Gobba told Crumbs in a whispering tone.
Gobba looked on top of the counter and grabbed a pastel yellow cutting board to push against the hole in the wall he made.
"So, who are you?" Crumbs asked Gobba.
"It's Gobba, but I don't have time for introductions. You got any tape somewhere?" Said Gobba.
Crumbs looked around, and shrugged. Suddenly, there were two hard knocks on the door, and when Gobba peeked through the cutting board, he saw Corrupted James (from Oddballs) and Corrupted Pink Panther banging on the door. Gobba gasped and then went back to pushing the cutting board against the hole in the wall.
"..Uh.. I have some frosting, is that gonna work?" Asked Crumbs
"Yeah! Anything that sticks nicely!" Exclaimed Gobba.
Crumbs grabbed a bottle of frosting from a drawer in the counter and ran over to Gobba to give it to him. Gobba squeezed a lot of frosting onto the cutting board and stuck it onto the window with its handle on the door.
"..So.. what now?" Asked Gobba as he turned towards Crumbs.
"..I hope you can make yourself comfortable, because we're gonna be here for a long time."
Said Crumbs.
Immediately after what Crumbs had just said, James' head burst through the door, causing Crumbs to yelp. Gobba ran to the door and head-butted James' head back outside.
"Fair enough!" Exclaimed Gobba.
Suddenly, more banging was heard, but at a different door in front of the counter.
"Nobody attacks Crumbs, no one!" Shouted a muffled, Scottish voice from the door.
Gobba and Crumbs walked towards the door, with Gobba curious while Crumbs neutral.

"Do you know the guy in that closet?" Asked Gobba.
"Yeah, his name's N, but he's in here because he doesn't wanna deal with the glitchy stuff." Explained Crumbs.
"But everything's boarded up, so now he's kinda being.. paranoid."
"No, I am not paranoid!" Complained N.
"It's alright, N! Everything's boarded up! I promise!" Assured Crumbs.
"Do you? Do you really nonchalantly promise no slime will null me out?" Questioned N.
N peeked through the closet, only to find that all of the windows and the doors were boarded up. He then opened the door widely, but he was disappointed at the sight of Gobba.
"You nonchalantly brought in a stranger? What if he's secretly not friendly?" Complained N.
"Hey, I had to escape from The Darkness here, buddy." Gobba told N.
"Besides, I had no other choice now that I'm here."
*Commercial Break*
Cut back to the octopus, Sam, and Max in the middle of an ocean. The octopus started giving Sam a pink belly, which enraged Sam into beating the octopus up and pulling himself and it into a violence ball, but then Max started to notice something amiss.
"Wait a minute, WHERE THE HECK IS GOBBA!?" Shouted Max.
A few seconds later, Sam had tied the octopus' tentacles into a knot, and then Max climbed out of the tentacles and stood next to Sam, a clearly annoyed look on the rabbit's face.
"Did Gobba seriously bail on us, Max? I mean- Sam?" Questioned Max.
"Max, we just met him. Why would he leave us alone so quickly and on our boat just like that?" Replied Sam.
Sam and Max looked at the spot where the boot used to be, but then the duo remembered that Gobba was on the boat earlier, leading them to believe that Gobba escaped the battle using their boat (with Gobba doing so in curiosity in Sam's thought bubble while Gobba did so with an evil look in Max's thought bubble.).
"Oh no, we shouldn't have let him on the boat!" Worried Sam.
"I know, he absolutely stole our ride!" Complained Max.
"No, I meant that he probably didn't know about how our boat worked!" Sam told Max.
"He must've gotten so confused with the boat, and now he's in the middle of nowhere without any help!"
Cut to a close-up of Max's face, with Max looking absolutely bored and disappointed.
"You know what? My theory or your theory, I know we're gonna start looking for Gobba either way." Noted Max.
Sam chuckled and then said that Max cracks him up. Cut to a close-up of T-Midi on his couch, sipping his coffee.
"So, let me get this straight. Your species are known as 'Mixels', and you are escaping from this.. glitchy goop known as 'The Darkness', and you need my help with your escape?" Questioned T-Midi.
Cut to a medium shot of T-Midi, Footi, Scorpi, and Torts sitting on couches.
"..Yeah, that's exactly right!" Exclaimed Torts.
T-Midi paused before eating his jelly-spreaded toast.
"And all three of you glitched into this universe somehow and ended up falling into the Breadwinners' van's trunk?" Asked T-Midi.
Scorpi nodded, and then Torts happily agreed to T-Midi's second question. T-Midi faced-palmed himself in confusion mixed with disappointment and concern.
"Sheesh-a-roo-roo." Muttered T-Midi.
"And I thought the Breadwinners were crazy."
T-Midi got off of his couch and looked out the window.
"You may not be in your world anymore, but I assume you'll have to stay here for now." Assured T-Midi.
"..Like a sleepover?" Assumed Footi.
"What the? No." Said T-Midi.
"Ooh, a sleepover? I love those!" Exclaimed Torts.

Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"
