Derenik and Aniyah were now sitting on the couch. Kalina and I were sitting in front of them in two dining room chairs and the rest of the technicians were hovering behind us.
“Well Aniyah, we are all ears you might want to start explaining what is going on.” Kalina said notepad and pen out.
Aniyah sat on the edge of her seat with her elbows on her knees. “Okay so we have been having an affair for quite some time now. I had always had my eyes on Derenik. I would see him mowing his lawn in just shorts, I mean you think he looks good in a suit wait until you see him when he’s sweaty and heaving as he is out of breath. I mean my god he is just so hot. Don’t even get me started on his back muscles” Aniyah said fanning her face. Derenik was smirking while looking away.
Behind me I could hear a technician say, “Uh sir can we perform a strip search for weapons?” he said.
“Stop thinking with your dick man, she’s starting up the story again.” The other technician said.
“Things really started to get out of hand when Ronald was at work and Derenik hadn’t left yet.” Aniyah said, collecting herself. “I pretended to need help with something inside the house, so when he came over in his well-tailored suit, I pounced right on him.” Derenik started to loosen his tie.
Aniyah cleared her throat “I’ll spare you the details, but things were very hot and heavy for quite some time. We went on multiple trips; I would lie to him and say I was going on a trip with my girlfriend. It worked because he didn’t have social media or were close to any of my friends, so he was none the wiser.”

Behind me I heard one of the technicians “You think your wife is doing the same thing?” he said.
“Dude come on; I want to sleep at night.” the other tech said.
“I mean you should talk to her about opening it up, as well just open it up. Me and my husband have never been happier.” He said.
“We have a kid and she’s pregnant with a second. The only thing opening up is my wallet to pay all these damn bills. Now shut up it’s getting good.” He said, then they both went quiet.
“I think things got a bit out of hand when Ronald went out of state for a month for some work event. That’s when me and Derenik spent some time cooking together and having careless whispers on the backyard deck.” Aniyah said, she sighed “I have to confess that we lied about our alibi’s. I told Ronald that I would be on a girl's trip this last week, but I’ve actually been across the street at Derenik’s. When Ronald would go to work, I would sneak over to grab things I needed.”
“The day before we decided to cook a meal together, so I snuck over to grab our knife set from the kitchen, I took a few knives and brought them over. We were having so much fun we didn’t even notice that it was already 10 at night. When I looked over to our house, I saw Ronald was not at home yet, so I wiped off the blades because I didn’t have time to clean them and ran over to put them back in the knife block before he had the chance to notice.” Aniyah said.
Kalina turned to the technicians behind us, “Can you verify that” she said to them. They nodded in agreement and walked over to the kitchen.

“Then when I came home this morning because Derenik had to go back to work. I came home to Ronald like this. I screamed, ran back to Derenik told him everything. That’s when we came up with our stories and finally called it in.” Aniyah said.
The Technicians came back into the room. “We were able to find their fingerprints on the knife,” one technician said.
“Your alibi somewhat holds up, but it is shaky.” I said, jotting down a note on my notepad. “However, if you don’t have any witnesses or security camera footage then your alibi doesn’t hold up.”
“I swear we didn’t do it; we may have been sleeping together but Ronald was so nice we didn’t want him to die.” Derenik pleaded.
Aniyah stared to cry “Please I don’t want to give birth to Ronalds only child in prison!” She covered her face and then started to sob into her hands.
“Well, Kalina looks like we have our criminals. Should we bring them in.” I said looking over to Kalina smirking. I can’t believe I made that bet this was the easiest case to solve in the world.
“Oh, dear rookie, you have so much to learn.” Kalina said. “There is no killer in this case ”

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer?
