We all went down to the dock after that, deciding we were gonna go find Sarah if she didn't show up.
"So, Sarah just dips and doesn't call?" John B questioned. "Yeah, man, she just left her bag. Didn't tell anybody." I replied.
"Okay, dude, I- I really think Ward got to her." John B told all of us. "I mean, the dude tried to have me killed in jail."
"What?" I asked, sitting up from where I was laying down beside JJ. "Yeah, he sent somebody to the prison who yoked me up and almost killed me." John B replied, making hand motions to choking.
"You serious?" Kie asked. "Yes." JB said. "Do we know who this dude was?" JJ asked. "No, I have no idea." John B replied.
"Dude, I swear to God, one day I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch." John B said as he sat opposite of me.
"It's okay." I told him as I saw Sarah come up in a boat. But oh no not just any boat, Toppers boat. "No, (Y/N), it's not okay. We gotta find Sarah." John B protested.
"No, literally, it's okay." I said, still calm but now kind of upset she was with Topper. "She's right there," I pointed. John B turned around.
"John B?" Sarah questioned. "John B!" She yelled. He was mad too. "What the hell is she doing with Topper?" I asked angrily. I hate him so much.
And Topper had the audacity to nod his head and smile. We helped them tie to our dock anyway.
"Hey," Sarah hugged JB with a smile. "Oh my God. I'm so glad you're okay. Hi." JB replied, hugging her back.
"I didn't know if I'd see you again." Sarah said. "What happened?" She asked. "Uh, they dropped all of the charges." John B replied.

"What?" Sarah asked, shocked. "Yeah, no, I'm a free man." John B told her. Sarah laughed and hugged John B again, basically yelling, "That's amazing!"
"Yeah, I know, it's great." JB laughed and hugged her back. "But listen, Sarah, they're coming after Rafe." He told her more seriously. "Good." Sarah sighed. That's not what I was expecting. Sibling love I guess.
"He's completely unhinged." Sarah explained. "He jumped me last night." She added after taking a pause. "What?" Kie asked while John B raised his eye brows. "That's why I didn't come back." Sarah told us.
"Yeah, man. Rafe has lost his mind. Literally, almost drowned his own sister." Topper backed her up. "Thankfully I got there... got there just in time."
Me and John B looked at each other. It was like a "what the fuck is happening" kind of look.
"Yeah, he did." Sarah said, making us look back at her. "Uh, well, I guess I owe you one, Topper, don't I?" JB said. I never owe Topper shit. Still salty about the ocean drowning thing at the start of all of this.
Topper scoffed. Bitch. It took everything I had not to push him off his boat.
"It's all good. I mean, somebody had to rescue your girlfriend, right?" He said. Now me and J looked at each other.
"Uh, that's funny because she's not actually my girlfriend." John B told Topper. "Uh... well, what is she then?" Topper laughed, confused. "Tell him." JB told Sarah.
Sarah looked between John B and Topper a good 4 times. "I'm... I'm with him." She said. Oooohhhh. That's rough.
John B's smirk dropped.
"Gotcha. You're with him. Okay, yeah. I just, like, needed a little clarity there." Topper said sarcastically. "You guys clear on that?" He asked us.
"I think it's clear you gotta go now." I replied, glaring at him. "Think I'll head out," Topper agreed as if I liked him and we were just having a normal conversation. Oh my I wanted to punch that man.

"Topper, thank you." Sarah stopped him before he left. "Of course." Topper said. Oh my fucking- they hugged. They hugged. Assholes. "I'm just glad you're okay." Topper said and looked right at JB as they still held onto each other.
It was quite awkward when he left.
We all went inside and let Sarah and John B talk it out on the hammock.
"How bad do you think it is?" Pope asked as we all looked out the shades, watching them clearly fight. "Pope how would you feel if your wife didn't tell their ex you were married?" I asked him. "Fair point." He sighed.
John B got off the hammock and started walking inside. "Scatter!" JJ exclaimed. We all quickly moved away from the window: me going to the couch, Kie and Pope running outside, JJ going to the kitchen.
JJ grabbed a beer. "Cheer up." He explained to me as he started walking outside. "You wanna shotgun one in the name of freedom?" JJ asked John B as they walked by each other. John B didn't even answer and just came inside, letting J pass him.
"Sarah, you wanna-" I heard J yell, then Sarah yell back, "No!"
John B went directly to his room, not even looking at me. "Rough." I whispered to myself. I looked outside where J was laying down on the couch. I stood up and went outside with him.
When I walked up there was a silent understanding to move over and he did, letting me sit on the couch also, us facing the opposite directions.
We sat in silence for a long time until he finally talked. "What are we?" He asked, almost desperately but also a bit angrily.
I thought about it for a second. "What do you want us to be?" I questioned. JJ didn't answer and took a sip of his beer. He looked away from me to the ocean.
I think he got aggravated with the silence. He finished the beer then crushed it in his hands, throwing it to the side. There was a small second where we looked at each other in the eyes, but then JJ moved quickly.
He moved towards me and then slowed, gently putting my head in his hand then kissed me. I obviously kissed him back. I'd be crazy not to.
I loved the way our lips connected perfectly together, like they never broke in the first place.
JJ climbed on top of me, pressing our bodies together.
I pulled my face apart from him. I needed to get something off my chest. "I'm sorry." I said. And I genuinely meant it. I was so extremely sorry for hurting him.
"I'm sorry. For everything." I repeated. "I'm sorry." I whispered. JJ didn't say anything. He looked like he was pondering it.
Gently, he kissed my forehead, then moved to my right cheek, then my left, then my chin, then he kissed my nose. Finally he landed on my lips. He pulled away again after a second. "I forgive you." He said before focusing back to my lips.
I was so entangled with JJ, I wouldn't have even noticed if anyone walked up to us. I forgot how much I missed him, how much I loved him and wanted him. It was like I was drowning in him, only I didn't want to come up from the water.
Someone needs to save me because I am head over heels in love with JJ Maybank.

Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero (Update 09/19/21)
(Updated 09/19/21) Hello and welcome. If you made it this far and the book title sounds interesting, I'm hoping you'll read a few chapters. Here's a sample from chapter 1 of "Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero."Slowly starting to wake up, I become aware. It's like coming out of a fog.Head hurts.Body hurts. There's a conversation in the room. This isn't my bed. Someone is touching my arm. I crack my eyes to look. She doesn't notice. Is she praying for me? Her hands do feel good…do feel... Slipping back unconscious, my eyes slowly close. I didn't notice the soft green glow under Jenn’s hands.*******************"It does look like he saved them or at least stalled them long enough for us to get there." says the man dressed more like a park ranger than an officer of the law. "I did think he was part of it at first" he continues "but the evidence shows he wasn't there and they were certainly fighting on that back road where we found them""I don't care who he is." says a woman as she enters the room. "He saved and protected my Jenn. I will make sure there's not a mark or a scar on him before he leaves". As she continues the few steps over to the men speaking, even though dressed simply in common clothes, there is no doubt the race of elves is in her heritage. The grace and lines of her form. The elegance and lightness of her step. She glances at her daughter, still watching over the young man in the bed. "Do we know who he is yet?" she asks no one in particular."Not yet dear" a man in a white coat responds. A handsome middle-aged man. Fit, but not that of a fighter or ranger. "I asked Talon to bring another identification stone with him. I was hoping ours was just broke, but it's reading the same.""What do you think is wrong?" Talon asks."I'm thinking we just have to wait until he recovers. I have heard of cases where the stone didn't work. Powerful spells can hide or wipe a person clean. I doubt he's a spy or a criminal. Spells like that are just too high level if, they're used at all. My best guess is, there is just some disconnect with him being unconscious. When he wakes, we can ask him or use the stone again then."I find myself waking up in a hospital bed. The attending Doctor finds it odd that he cannot identify my class. An Officer says I’m a Hero for saving a girl from being kidnapped, but he’s asking too many questions for my liking. I know an accusing tone when I hear it. I don’t remember any of it and I need to find my way home.Author’s notes. Original work. First draft and update of chapters 1-16. Inspired by various fantasy games and books. Written with a focus on character development and interaction. Combat, progression, leveling, classes, but no numbers or stats. I’ll try to keep the language clean, PG-13, no smut. I’m in the US, writing in English. Almost fifty chapters are completed as I pen this introduction. I intend to complete this story or at least bring it to a proper ending. I have a destination in mind. I find as I write, doors and ideas open, while others close and are discarded. The tentative release schedule will be once a week. I'm new to creating. My apologies now while I learn. I have not settled on a book cover or artwork, still looking for something that fits. Registered & Protected #20VjeKDv2U6nynW6

Superior Era

That’s exactly the predicament Dario finds himself in and he’s thoroughly vexed by it. After all, what sort of sane person would want to miss out on sleep? A madman, that's who. This is a tale of superpowered/superhero-like individuals set in a dangerous fantasy world with hints of GameLit elements.
