You're so pale now that you lack warmth,

snowflakes glitter, frozen on your window.

Trees will lose their leaves and lands will lighten henceforth.

Ice shall coat the grounds while the wind comes to blow.

Christmas lights and distorted melodies echoing from a mile away

while frost makes all chill and shudder.

But the children go out to make snowmen and snow angels anyway

even when the northern winds make them judder.

Fingers freezing, inviting frostbite over.

The last season of the year

is finally here

before all is over.

Snowflakes crystallise into intricate structures while snowballs are hurled left right and centre.

This season makes all smile

winter be my mentor

in killing the old,

shedding the bold,

much how you end Autumn's life

for your frozen wastelands.

Help me bring a knife

to sever the southern white sands

that are valleys of places I've already been to.

Now I am ready to trek on ground that is new.

Oh, the mortals hang lights to celebrate another year of their lives spent

snow from the sky that God has sent.

Icicles that hang from the fringes of igloos like crystals.

Hailstone shot from the clouds above like bullets from pistols.

And the ice only melts to give way to the spring

in which new things bloom,

in which the songbirds sing.
