《Alexander Creed: Re-Life》Chapter 317: The Creed Chaos System III

It had done it.
The Creed Chaos System had stumped the would-be game masters of what was supposed to be an unstoppable gaming revolution.
Nintendo was at a standstill.
Had Alexander known about this development, he'd probably give them a ribbon for trying.
It was always within his expectation that there would always be people that would peak into the Chaos units' tech.
That's just how it is.
Then again, Alexander wasn't worried. Why would he be when he had also taken these factors into account when he set out into this whole console business?
Just by going through the hardware side of things... the system was somewhat stable but not in any way special at all.
He really went all in with the 4th generation mish-mashing. From the TurboGrafx, the Sega Genesis, to the SNES, along with an upgraded version of Intellivision's near-decade-old circuity.
Alexander was confident that there was really not much that could be gained by competitors from that.
Of course, the software side of things had to be covered... but did it really need to?
He didn't even bother with some advanced encryption techniques and protective measures for the future.
Try as they might, they can't even copy and pirate this certain anomalous software. The plaguing piracy problems that plague Microsoft and the like were no problem.
Baseline Chaos itself will do the trick.
How could programmers even infiltrate something infinite, random, and have no decorum of order in any way?
Firewalls and Waterfalls of the future can hold no candle to the monster of a program that it is.
That, however, raises the question of why was it exactly able to form a grounded video game system, a video game engine, and support video games.
Why was Creed Games able to mass-produce Chaos units if Chaos isn't copy-able?
If it was so chaotic, how was it able to do orderly feats such as these? It just doesn't make sense.

Perhaps this whole arrangement only made sense to a select few. The select few, in this case, would just be Alexander and Chaos.
Either way, the Creed Chaos System was finely designed to be the way it is.
Any action that compromises that, will summon forth an inexplicably dark display screen with randomly dancing red-green characters.
When used as intended, it played games and 16+bit features like any hybrid 4th generation console system should.
------
Unlike the threatened Nintendo professionals that gutted open this daring new console for its secrets, the general public's intentions were much more simple.
They bought their new consoles for the fun that they could offer.
They bought their Creed Chaos Systems and they just wanted to play with it.
And have fun and play with it, they did.
Of course, they weren't the general public per se... since they were mostly Creed fans... with a few sprinkling of special people from here and there.
Whatever identity they had... all of the. more or less went through the same process- the process to identify themselves.
Of course, they also collectively went through the usual learning-the-ropes-of-the-system stuff.
They unboxed their packagings, set aside the form-fitting styrofoams, coordinate the system's components, and read the manual.
It was intuitive for the most part. Most of what they've done is the usual video game console parts, after all.
What's unusual was the setting up of a Creed Gamer Account. They didn't know any other console that was doing that.
In any case, the manual simply asked them to have a username, a password, and to commit both to memory or write them down for safekeeping.
Odd but easy peasy. Spelling things out with a game controller was also odd but easy peasy once you get the hang of it.
With that said, a lot of people had an interesting thought process went with their usernames.

One of the very first buyers was Fanboy who went with CreedFan01.
Mr. Counterboy went with Counterboy.
Miss Marker went with MissMarker.
Mr. Advertiser went with MrAdvertiser.
Mr. Legalities went with MisterLegalities.
Mr. Security Head went with HeadGuard.
Mr. Catmull went with PixarHead... and so on and so forth.
Some of these were technically not buyers but Creed employees. After all, their generous bosses always kept with the tradition of having their employees own Creed products as they can.
Free volume books and Creed Chaos System were very enviable employee benefits. With that said, most employees really went with the designation that their little boss had given to them.
Little Milica was technically no Creed employee but she had little boss friend and old boss' nominal granddaughter privilege. Hence, she had her own system and MillaJovovich to her name.
Even Courteney had a system of her own and she went with PrettyCox for laughs and good measure.
There's also George Lucas that went with GeorgeLucas. Because why not? His old team also built this new contraption and he got one as a gift.
Lucas even got his video gaming director friend a Creed Chaos System for the fun of it. So THE Steven Spielberg went with StevenSpielberg.
Even a February birthday girl named Drew Barrymore got a system as a birthday gift from her esteemed godfather.
The godfather spilled the beans on the gift's true origin and Drew had her Creed Gamer Account set to CharmingLiar, for the prince charming that lied to her.
Of course, the whole naming thing didn't stop from there.
With two game systems being rolled around the Los Angeles area for the whole of February, it was really just a matter of time before the news would flow outside its niche.
However, between the two game things, the NES seemed dull.
In contrast, the Creed Chaos System had somehow formed a weird trend of this so-called Creed Gamer Account that is circulating.
These usernames were just simple things... how come they formed a trend out of nowhere?
Then again, these usernames and the Creed Gamer Accounts were anything but simple.
It would have incredibly profound implications that nobody knew as of yet.
------
Accounts, usernames, passwords.
These were strange things for people of the 80s but they would actually come to be ubiquitous and crucial for the people of tomorrow.
Gmail. Google Accounts. Facebook Account. Nintendo Accounts. PlayStation Accounts. Xbox Accounts. Even Netflix and Amazon Accounts.
With this great of a headstart, Alexander could only say sorry to the major tech corporations.
Creed Games or even Creed Entertainment was already forming a subscriber base and semi-loyal accounts before they could we're even existing.
Although the Creed Gamer Account was meant for just gaming as of current with no personal data and whatnot.
It was already building up. Within Alexander's whims, who knows what will happen?
If Alexander could pull this ambitious stint off, then he could probably pull off the crazy ideas that he was only mindfully joking about.
Oh... the possibilities!
-----
With that said, it was finally time to take a closer look at what these 16+bit features truly are.
Wasn't the a home video game console all about being able to play video games in the comfort of people's homes?
Why the need for something like a Creed Gamer Account to play? What was even the point of it?
Oh... how much does this Creed Chaos System actually have in stall?

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.
