《An Enchanter's Tale》Chapter 54 - Too Late

Siyu felt a slight pull and was determined to see what was along the line of it.
Casually, with light steps, a man and dog walked forward, the sun and heat taking the moisture from their bodies as the time passes.
Eventually, Siyu felt the space in his mind enclose around him and he knew he could go no farther.
Siyu looks to the left and to the right; two teams of five men each were about to trap him. Siyu lets out a sigh. Paz soldiers… He thinks with a shake of his head. Siyu kneels down and rubs Sunshine's soft head. “Go on, girl. If our journey is allowed to continue, come find me later.” Siyu says, the pace of his breathing becoming faster. Siyu gives Sunshine a kiss. “I might need you to bring me back…” Siyu says, his anxiety continuing to climb.
“Woof!” Sunshine calls out before running into the distance.
Siyu focused on his breathing. Each inhale and exhale gathering and storing power, a power he wished he never had. Siyu swings his staff, feeling the weight of it. He had never fought with it, but a weapon is bound to draw blood one day if the intent continues to exist in its owner’s mind.
Siyu counts down. 1, 2… 3… He thinks with a sigh, before bolting towards the closer group at his fastest speed.
Earth path energy coursed through Siyu and gravity propelled him ever further, feeling his urgency.
The other team of five immediately notice and ready themselves. “Give chase!” The team leader calls out.
Meanwhile, the team that Siyu was propelling towards readied themselves.
There were no masters on this playing field, but expert stage fighters were present and the others were on the same stage as Siyu.
Siyu bites his tongue as the realization dawns him, tasting the blood in his mouth. Fuck. Siyu exclaims. Fine. If I must. He thinks with some regret.

Siyu places a hand on his stomach and his Earth path energy quickly goes about unlocking his seal. Then… BANG!
Siyu’s energy immediately pushes through a blockade and he reaches the Expert stage.
Siyu shakes his head, then focuses. He was fast approaching…
Siyu forces his speed past his limit for an instant to maneuver around whoever they placed in front and immediately jumps to the person in the back.
Siyu’s energy courses through his staff, pouring weight into it until Siyu could barely lift it.
BANG!
The soldier’s knee caved in.
BAM!
The soldier’s skull was bashed to the side, causing the man to collapse, unconscious.
Siyu feels the pointed edge of the various threats in his mind. He ducks and rolls to the ground, causing a sword to simply slice through air.
Siyu stands and spins, the heavy staff swinging through the air to collide with a soldier’s knee.
Two other soldier’s watch the impact and pounce as Siyu’s staff was still extended.
Siyu frowns and withdraws his energy from his staff, and draws it back to defend.
Siyu takes the mace on his shoulder, feeling it bite into bone as he blocks the blade coming for his head.
Siyu grimaces at the pain and spins with his staff as his energy courses through once more.
BAM!
BAM!
Both soldier’s were hit whiplashed in the face, causing them to fall to their knees, their heads spinning.
The front-liner frowns as he sees this and draws sword. “Enough of this! Come peacefully!” He calls out with a deep voice.
Siyu smirks. Even if it was a second, he would not waste it. He immediately pounces at the man, stabbing out with his staff like a spear.
The man parries, but the staff swung back, sweeping for his legs, determined to pin the man down like a wolf hunting its prey.

BANG!
The man defends with his shield and smirks. “It’s already too late.” He says
Siyu lets out a sigh. The other team had come. Akin to wolves themselves, they spread out to encircle and strangle their prey between them.
Siyu brings his staff back to his side. His breathing was now rapid, causing a sharp pain in his lungs. Slowly, but surely, his innate desire to survive broke out of his mind’s seal, dying his mood a dark, deplorable colour. Siyu shakes his head but the feeling wouls not go. “You’re right… It's already too late…” He says as he feels his consciousness beginning to fade… Slowly, but surely, blood creeps onto his eyes and his veins begin to grow dark… Siyu was losing himself…
