It was already 6:40 in the evening and Hyewon was doing her laundry. Almost done with the chore, she decided to call her aunt .
Hyewon's aunt talked from the other line. Hyewon put the call on speaker as she tidied the clothes that were fresh from the dryer.
She paused for a moment. Unsure of what to say, she bit her lips.
Hyewon bitterly smiled, dropping the last clothes into the laundry basket. Silence now erupted and only static noise was heard.
Her aunt continued.
Hyewon quickly said before ending the call.
Her smile quickly faded, and she sat down on the floor, heaving a sigh before looking at her home screen. She was just staring at her phone's wallpaper when suddenly, a message notification popped up.

"..Jake? Isn't he the study group leader Mrs.KIm was talking about?" Hyewon mumbled to herself. Then, another notification popped up. She swiped up to see what it was.

Hyewon closed the message box and decided to surf through instagram for a little bit, realising that she hasn't been up with the latest posts of her friends and acquaintances. She expected to see old posts, but her new instagram friend has flooded her feed with his posts.
Her eyes were all googly as she looked through his account.
Followers? A whopping 58,973 instagram accounts. Following? Only 12 people. Posts? So aesthetic. Looks? Definitely a 100000/10.
Hyewon puckered her lips, now tempted to actually post something. After staring at her empty account for a moment, she finally decided to post for the first time.
Hyewon picked old pictures of her and uploaded them before finally exiting the app.
Hyewon mumbled, shrugging to herself as she got up to do her night routine.

On the other hand, Jake didn't really have things to do, someone just entered his room, and his first instinct was to make up a quick excuse from Hyewon and then close his message box. He looked up, only to see Sunoo holding a bag of chips.
Sunoo questioned, picking his school bag from the corner of the room.
The group of friends have decided to stay and have a simple sleepover over Jake's house. Now, they're watching a newly released movie with some snacks to munch on.
Jake stated. He stood up from his bed and accompanied Sunoo on the way out, carrying his phone with him.
They went to the living room, where the rest had been watching intently, eyes glued on the large tv playing an action movie. Sunoo and Jake settled on the couch.
And just as Jake was about to put his hand inside the bag of doritos, his phone lit up.

Jake never pressed a notification bar so quickly. He instantly browsed Hyewon's profile.
So... that's what she looks like. Jake thought, subconsciously chuckling at the cheesy caption Hyewon had put up. He had been looking at the post for so long that the person beside him, Heeseung, had 'accidentally' peeked.
Heeseung asked louder than how he meant his voice to be. And now, the loud TV was ignored as all eyes were focused on heeseung.

The others simultaneously asked. Heeseung diverted the attention from him to Jake as he pointed at the lad's phone.
And before Jake could even react, his phone was already snatched from his grip. Jake tried to take his phone back, but the others have already flocked to Ni-ki, the culprit of stealing his phone.
Jay playfully said as he opened his own phone, now typing Hyewon's username. The others did the same thing, teasing Sunghoon, then asking Jake how he found her account.
Well, they all did follow hyewon except for Sunghoon himself. It looked like he had no interest in what was happening. Besides shushing the teasings he received from his friends, his eyes were permanently glued on the television.
On the other hand, Jake became upset. His friends did not only snatch his phone and look into it, but they also followed the poor girl he's supposed to be adding to his study group.
She must've been surprised and confused why suddenly, she was followed by five boys on instagram, only to see that they're mutuals with Jake. That would surely leave a not-so-good impression on him.
The mischievous youngest announced as soon as he checked Jake's message box, which added more fuel to the fire.

Jake looked at his friends, who were still busy invading his privacy. He couldn't help but facepalm and mentally sigh. He muttered under his breath.
He thought of what to say to Hyewon tomorrow, should he say sorry about the five boys who followed her out of the blue? Or should he just act clueless?
They haven't even met, but Jake was already imagining how things could turn out.
