Sanvi’s Fort Save (Implosion): 1d20+65 = 83 (Success)
The priestess gaped in shock at Sanvi, and the acid arrow she fired from her crossbow soared a good ten feet over the fallen archon’s head. “Sanvi? What in Torm’s name?” Then the realization hit her. “TRAITOR! YOU WILL DIE FOR THIS!” But, even fallen, the archon was too strong to fall to the priestess’s spell.

“Well, it looks like your pawns have better sense than you little archons,” I taunted, as I unleashed a bolt of black energy from my fist. It bounced from the dervish to her daughter, and then chained through the servants they brought, for good measure. “Tell me, little whores of Zadkiel, do you think your master will weep for you when you’re dead? Or will he simply curse me for taking some of his toys from him?”

Fartooth’s Attack Roll (Iahhel): 1d20+33 = 37 (Miss)
Fartooth launched another flurry of arrows at the priestess, and one managed to slip through her defenses. Iahhel glared at him, but the little kobold was unaffected in the slightest. “So, what do you want to do with them once we beat them? I’ve heard that archon corpses can be used for different rituals and things.”
Araqiel’s Tumble Check: 1d20+58 = 71 (Success)
The dervish did not rise to my bait, unfortunately. Instead, she ducked down, rolling under the swinging blades of the spectral swordsmen, to pick up her fallen blade. Then, with a springing motion, she danced up and out of the crowd, getting closer to her daughter. “It seems that our information about your abilities was out of date. Iahhel, did you prepare the sending spell today? We could call Master here.” When the priestess shook her head no, the dervish just cursed. “Then we need to fight our way free. They can fly, like us, so we may as well fight upon the ground.”

Archer 1’s attack (Melinda): 1d20+12 = 20 (Miss)
The archer unphased by the Ebonheart’s intimidating entrance turned her attention to me. Unsurprising since I was the source of the magic that just blasted her. Unfortunately for her, I was far too nimble to get hit by any of her arrows, and they all just passed harmlessly by.
Her partner, on the other hand, was wholly in the grip of fear. She cast down her bow and dove over the side of the boat, wildly swimming out into the lake. She did not even seem to be heading to the next nearest bit of land, but just ‘away’.
Ebonheart’s Attack Roll (Araqiel): 1d20+54 = 72 (Hit)
Horn: 1d8+27 = 33 (Piercing, Adamantine)
Chaotic Rage: 2d6 = 8
Vile Natural Attack: 1 Vile
“NO, LITTLE GIRL! DON’T RUN AWAY!” Ebonheart laughed as he charged after the dervish, goring her again with his horn. “HA, HA, HA! If you ask nicely, I’ll mount you before I kill you. Come, let us fight!” Poor guy really hadn’t had much fighting to do, the last couple years.
Meanwhile, the soldiers all continued to run, scampering down the beach. Not one of them even bothered to look back at the black unicorn. They were all too scared, the fear of a raging unicorn driving all conscious thought from their minds.
Sanvi’s CL Check: 1d20+46 = 47 (Success)
Sanvi’s Attack roll (Araqiel): 1d20+40 = 50 (Touch) (Hit)
Dimensional Anchor: Prevents all extradimensional movement, 40 rounds remaining.
Sanvi’s CL Check: 1d20+46 = 52 (Success)
Intensified Quickened Magic Missile (Araqiel): 50 (Force)
Sanvi simply smiled as she looked at her former sister-wives. “I never had any loyalty to that bastard. He raped me ever since I got my first bleed! No, I gladly gave up what I was for the chance to see his head on a pike. Now, do stay for the rest of the show, ‘sisters’.” As she spoke, she unleashed a second green beam of energy, this time striking the dervish. As before, there was no visible indication of any negative effect. However, unlike before, Sanvi pulled out a staff from her bag, and pointed it at Araqiel, blasting her with five arcane missiles.
The Magelord’s forces, now all aboard their boats, pushed out onto the lake, and began retreating from the battle. Fargleam had done as much as he had promised. He had arranged the meeting. He and his had no need to bleed at our side, and if he did not take sides, then the worst that could be said about him was that he cared more for his people’s lives than throwing them into a grinder. That was something he could easily turn to his advantage, even if the archons won this fight.
Siora’s CL Check: 1d20+28 = 40 (Success)
Black Blade’s Attack Roll (Iahhel): 1d20+30 = 47 (Touch) (Hit)
Iahhel’s Fort Save (Black Blade of Disaster): 1d20+29 = 46 (Success)
Black Blade of Disaster: 5d6 = 14 (Magic)
Iahhel’s Concentration Check: 1d20+61 = 73 (Success)
Siora did not look too upset that the dervish danced away from her legion of sentinels spell. It wasn’t like the spell would do more than hinder her somewhat. Instead, it gave her room to work, without putting herself at risk. She spoke the words of another spell, and a black blade appeared in mid-air, next to the archons. With a vicious slash, it cut at the priestess, wounding her only slightly.

“Oh, profane Malcanthet, source of all the pleasures of Shendilavri, strike down these self-righteous archons with your divine flame!” As Vestele called out her prayer, a pillar of flame descended upon beach, burning all the living creatures in its path. The only ones unaffected by the blast were the archons, who seemed to dodge the flames completely as they struck. The fleeing soldiers all fell to the ground, dead. Even the archers succumbed to the blast, despite being in better health.

“Damn you, traitor! How could you turn your back upon the Master, or Lord Torm? Who cares about all that other stuff? Your duty was to be loyal to your father and husband, and to your god!” As Iahhel preached at Sanvi, she fired another bolt of acid at her. And while this one was better aimed than the last, and hit its mark, the effect was the same, as the ring on Sanvi’s left hand glowed green at the moment of impact, negating the spell. Seeing that, Iahhel screamed, and uttered a prayer to her god, calling down a fire storm upon us all. Unfortunately for her, we were all too quick on our feet, each of us having boots which allowed us to evade area attacks entirely.

I took a looping path across the sands, getting in close to the two archons, before I unleashed another of my utterdark blasts. Both archons took the full brunt of it, thanks to being within my aura, and both looked more than a little pissed at me. I decided to stoke the fire, somewhat. “You know, you two really shouldn’t have tried to get my attention. You are barely more challenging than children. Perhaps I ought to turn you into brood mares for Ebonheart?”

Araqiel’s Attack (Vestele): 1d20+36 = 48 (Miss)
Araqiel snarled, and continued her dance, striking out twice at me, but I was easily able to avoid the blows. The next strokes, however, went to Ebonheart, and three of her attacks hit, including a terrible gash on the unicorn’s side that struck far too deep for my liking. The last two attacks went to Vestele, but they clanged harmlessly off her shield. “The witch queen might be too strong for us to easily bring down, but we can still bleed the rest of you, and make you easier for the Master to destroy, when he comes to give you your judgement!”

“GOOD!” Ebonheart roared in pleasure. “THAT’S IT! FIGHT BACK, UNLIKE THAT USELESS ARCHON WE SLAUGHTERED ON TORMFALL!” With a laugh, the unicorn whirled, ignoring his wounds, and stabbed Araqiel with his horn, beat her with his hooves, bit her with his teeth, and then gored her with the sharpened horns of his helmet, laughing the entire time.

“Oh, Araqiel, don’t get too full of yourself! You’re the prey, here, and you aren’t escaping this trap!” As Sanvi spoke, she unleashed a ray of icy cold, striking the archon in the back, between the wings, just before five more missiles emerged from her staff, and converged on Araqiel, pelting her repeatedly. “I’m going to enjoy this!”

Siora smiled wickedly at Araqiel. “Since you like dancing so much, why don’t you dance to my tune?” Her spell hit the archon, and immediately all that she could do was dance in place. She looked like she was going to say more, but a scream of pain brought her eyes back to Iahhel, as the black blade Siora conjured last round bit deep into the archon priestess’s side, drawing a ragged gash across her body. “See, your daughter is singing to go with your dance! Isn’t that nice?”
Vestele’s Concentration Check: 1d20+34 = 37 (Success)
Vestele’s CL Check: 1d20+28 = 47 (Success)
Iahhel’s Fort Save (Bodak’s Glare): 1d20+5 = 8 (Fail, Dead)
Vestele actually turned her gaze away from the dancing archon, and looked at Iahhel. “I think it is time to remove one of the pieces from the board.” With a word, her eyes appeared to vanish, and in their place were two orbs of utter darkness. Then, the moment passed, and Iahhel fell to the ground, dead.

Araqiel’s Fort Save (Massive Damage): 1d20+5 = 13 (Fail, Dead)
Seeing one of the archons fall, I laughed, and cried, “Let’s finish this!” With a beat of my wings, I flew up into the air, and then came down, blade in both hands, wrapping it in the utterblack aura of my magic. Araqiel was helpless to anything but watch as I dropped down, and the blade caught her right at the base of the neck, and chopped deep. It did not feel like enough to kill her outright, but the massive hit to her health caused the archon to shudder, and then fall to the ground, her heart failing.
We had won.
