《My halfbie - GwinamXreader》Chapter 10

As I sit in the floor with the jacket still in my hands as I start to feel rain dropping down onto my head. I make no effort to move away as I just let my head fall back as I stare up to the dark clouds above. As I stare up into the darkness I spot a flash of bright lights cut through the abyss with a loud crackle sounding a moment later. I find a slight smile growing on my face as I can see the outline still fading in my vision. It was nice to hear the thunder, to watch the lightning.
There was a comforting familiar feeling in the sound that echoed through the sky as an unstoppable force. The bright lights that stuck anything down if it was in the way. Not even a stupid zombie would stand a chance against this. It was terrifyingly beautiful. I continue to watch for a while before I see a hand above my head stopping the rain from falling onto my face. "What" I say, eyes still stuck in the same place. "Come over to the shelter you'll catch a cold here" Woojin's small voice says as I stay still.
"I'm fine here, it's nice" I say as I let my head fall to the side a little so I could see the clouds again. I smile a little again as I see another crackle of lighting shoot across the sky. "Maybe it's time to accept the end of the world" I say before the booming sound of thunder cuts across. I feel him grab my arm and pull me up still holding his hand over my head. "You have to let him go" Woojin says almost as a whisper. I pull my eyes away from the sky as I look at Woojin.
"What" I say before feeling the lump in my throat again. "I know about you two, well knew I guess" he says looking directly down at me. "I liked you you know" he says as I take a small step back. "Don't worry I understand it's not going to happen but I still care about you so please don't give up if anything keep living for him, the other him" Woojin says as his hands falls down and rests on my head. "Now come over to the shelter" Woojin says lightly before stepping away and walking over to the rest of the group.
I have to stay still for a moment to process what he's just said to me. The sound of thunder sounds loudly as I blink a few times and take a deep breath before heading over to the shelter. I sit with Onjo as I let my arm rest over her shoulder. I rub her shoulder lightly as she leans over and rests her head on my shoulder. We all sit in silence not really doing anything. Suhyeok is fixing some cotton buds in Namra's ears because the thunder must hurt her.
I can't help thinking if somehow Gwinam had survived the fall he'd be in pain as well. As I'm in my thoughts Cheongsan stands next to the side of the building looking over the school yard. I notice him walk over to us obviously avoiding looking at Onjo since he probably felt bad. "I was thinking what if we moved while the storm is going on" Cheongsan suggests as most people give him an odd look. "The thunder is confusing them so they won't hear us plus we can't stay here, no one's coming for us" he says seriously as he looks around the group for answers.

"I don't know it seems risky" some guy with glasses pipes up after a moment of silence. "Moving will always have risks but at least we have some sort of advantage right now" Cheongsan carries on. "He's right we can't stay" Suhyeok says while getting up and looking over at the yard. "Where will we go, they're everywhere" one of the girls says. "The woods past the construction building, there won't be zombies there and we can carry on through the trees until we reach people" Suhyeok continues as people mutter to themselves.
"It's the best idea we've got right now" I say as people quiet down a little. "We should go now before the storm passes" I say as I get up while carefully pulling Onjo up with me as she was still quite shaken up. "Alright let's get going then" Woojin says while getting up enthusiastically. People seem hesitant at first but start getting to their feet and grabbing some items they could use as weapons. Cheongsan goes over to the emergency exit and leans closely to listen. "Damn it" he says quietly before stepping back. "I can hear one behind the door" Cheongsan says as people start protesting and some sit back down.
"For gods sake" I say and look to Suhyeok and grab the metal pole he was holding as a weapon. He gives me a confused look while keeping the metal in his hand. "Trust me I won't go do anything foolish" I say as he seems a little hesitant but let's go as I take it off him. I head over to the door as Cheongsan stands there thinking. "Open the door and then hide behind it alright" I say as Cheongsan looks at me and then down at my hand. "You sure"he asks as I nod. "Definitely, this is the only chance we have to get out I'm not about to lose it" I say as he nods and stands the the side of the door while grabbing into the handle.
I look over to make sure the rest of the people here had backed away from the line of sight at the door before giving Cheongsan a small nod. He pulls the door open quickly as he hides between the door and wall. The zombie inside takes a moment to notice before it starts snarling and running at me. I tighten my grip on the pole before side stepping the zombie to back behind it and shoving it. I quickly reach for it's leg and give a quick tug which sends the zombie toppling to the floor.
Once on the floor I press my foot against the back of it's head so it couldn't turn and bite me. I turn the pole to the spiked end was facing towards the ground before quickly moving my foot and stabbing down harshly. The pole pierces through easier than I expected since they must be decaying in some way. I pull the pole out before sending another sharp jab at its head to make sure it wouldn't get up again.
This time I don't pull the pole out but reach down and grab the back of it's shirt and start dragging it to the side of the building. I then pull the pole out, make sure it's not going to move, and pull it over the barrier around the roof. I watch it fall for a moment before it crushes on the floor beneath. I check to make sure no zombies took notice of the sound and luckily none of them did.

"They're definitely disorientated" I say before turning back to the group which looks a little shocked and scared. "Well come on we can't waste this chance" I say and head over to the door and hold it open. Cheongsan leads people ahead as Suhyeok watches their backs. I shut the door carefully behind us after looking across the roof one last time. We get down some of the flights of stairs as I look down to see a classroom door open. It stood out to me even though it was entirely possible it was a coincidence.
I feel my legs stop and stare down the corridor slightly contemplating for a moment. "Come on y/n it's clear" Suhyeok says from behind as I sigh a little. "I need to look for him, I'm sorry" I say looking back at Suhyeok as he seems conflicted before glancing down the corridor. "You'll be on your own though" he says as I nod making sure nothing notices us. "I want to but I can't just leave him, you know he won't stop if he's still alive" I say as Suhyeok looks down the stairs a little as Onjo is there looking up checking on us.
"I can't stop you can I" he says while looking over at me. "Don't go dying now, I'll wait for you in the trees" he says before pulling me into a quick hug. It took me by surprise but I hug him back quickly not missing this chance since I might not get to see him again. "Make sure your girl keeps you safe or she'll have to hear from me" I say as he smiles a bittersweet smile. "Good luck" Suhyeok says before heading down the next flight of stairs while pulling Onjo along with him.
I get my thoughts straight again while I hold onto the metal pole tightly before looking down the corridor. I see two zombies but they were obviously disorientated. I crouch dow and quickly make my way along the side of the wall until I reach the open room. I take a quick look inside so I don't just run into a room filled with zombies. It was empty so I start making my way back to the staircase. As I'm heading down the corridor I pass by the nurse's office. I feel my feet stop moving as I look around again to make sure I wasn't noticed.
I reach up to the door and pull it open and take another quick look around. I see the room mostly as I'd left it apart from the curtains which had been ripped slightly as they slant towards the corner. I go into the room and close the door behind to make sure no zombies would wander in behind. I head over to the end of the bed a peer around so I could see the corner. I see a small figure curled up on the floor with the curtain over most of their head.
I can already tell from here who it was as I quickly go over and placing my hands over his ears. Gwi nam looks up defensively as he goes to fight back but quickly stops as I just pull him into my arms. "I hate you and if you ever try to hurt Cheongsan again I'll kill you myself" I say as I feel his head rest on my shoulders. "I hurt you" I just about hear him say over the thunder rumbling above the school. "I don't care about that" I say as I go to pull away but he keeps his arms around me.
"Don't leave me" he says in a small voice that I can recognise as my friend. "I'm right here alright and I'll stay right here, just us against the world alright" I say carefully before he moves back a little. I see the tears welling in his eyes as he lets out a shaky breath. I reach over and wipe away a tear from his face before another strike of lighting hits as thunder rumbles loudly. He groans and reaches up to his ears quickly while leaning a little closer to the wall.
I look outside at the rain falling outside as I get up. "No not again" Gwinam says as he reaches over and lightly grabs at my hand. "I'm not going anywhere" I say and run my thumb over the back of his hand. I look over as I see the weakness in his eyes, the look he used to have, the look that made him human. "Stay there" I say and move away to the cabinet and rummage around until I find some headphones connected to a phone. The phone was dead but I still pull the headphones out and head back to Gwinam before placing the headphones in his ears.
"That should help a little" I say in a quiet voice before pulling him over as I notice him flinch again at the sound of the thunder. "Try and sleep through it alright" I say while leaning back against the wall and pulling him down so his head was resting on my leg. I reach up and pull the blanket on the bed down before placing it over his shaking body as I let my hand rest on his ear in hopes it might help a little more to lessen the pain. I missed seeing my friend, the side I could recognise and trust. I can't help it but I think I might have fallen for him. I couldn't accept it before because I never had to think about it but now it's just us again I can think clearly. I love the real him.

Unto Dark
A man of cripplingly ill mind, bridled with the spirits and regrets of the past. Wade Pierce trudges through each day of his monochrome existence, only as penance for his sins. Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...
