She rests on the table for a solid five minutes, basking in the aura that is Karl Heisenberg. Even spent like this after their love making – okay, let's be accurate – after that mind blowing fuck, he exerts an air of dominance.
Karl sits up, pulling on his pants and looping his belt through them. He dives into his coat pocket, retrieving a fat cigar and clipping the end before lighting it up. His cheeks bellow on the first and second puff, really getting it glowing. He sits on the edge of the workbench, sucking on his cigar, letting the wisps of heavily scented smoke roll around his mouth before blowing them out of his nostrils. It is a comforting smell, and one which she would happily lounge in all day, much like his company. She's smart enough to know though that Karl isn't like that. He hasn't even really thought about aftercare – not counting the cigar he lit for himself, that is.
She stays put for a short time, just watching him as the brown paper that holds the tobacco steadily turns to a cylinder of gray.
"Want some?" He offers, holding it back between two fingers. She shakes her head. "Suit yourself," he says.
"Say, Karl," She starts, sitting up.
"What is it, sweet cheeks?"
"Why do you wear those necklaces?" She glances at the pressed metal, hook and tube suspended against that glorious, masculine chest with hair now glimmering with sweat like the first dew of the morning.
"These?" He jangles them. "I like to keep metal around. It feels safe."
"I didn't realize a man like you ever needed to feel otherwise." She means it as a compliment, a curious notion about this seemingly god-like being, but judging by the stiff look he gives her, he didn't take it as one.

"The fuck did you just say?"
She bolts up. "I didn't mean anything by it! I just... You're so strong!"
He grunts and sucks on the cigar. "Better be all you meant."
"Not one to talk about your emotions are you?" She pulls on her clothes as they speak.
"I prefer plans."
"Fair enough. Speaking of, didn't you need to check on something? Or was this all just to lure me down here?" A woman can hope.
He smirks, showing a side of teeth as they bite into the cigar he's just about finished. "Didn't take much persuading."
"Heh..." Heat sears at her cheeks. She already wants to kiss him again, to have him claim her mouth.
He puts his cigar out on the factory floor and after tugging his boots back on, crushes it into smouldering powder. "It's down on the next floor."
"What is?"
He snickers. "That distracted by looking at me, were you? Can't blame you."
"Karl..." More heat. It’s already hot enough in here...
"What I came down to check on. Let's go take a look."
"Alright." She hops off of the table, hoping that he will take her hand. He doesn't, but he does get the door and her heart skips a beat.

8 108Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
8 482Lear County Outlook
Based on true events in my life. Think of these stories as H P Lovecraft meets Rob Zombie. Each story has pieces, confessions, from the rural decay of Appalachia wrapped in horror and madness. All are set in the fictional county of Lear, which is a dark mirror held up to surface, idealized countryside. Blood and familial ties bind deep in a hopeless and rotted south. Tales are whispered of Hill Witches and Demons. Shunned communities molder. All these truths are hidden in the stories of deceit and lies. The first arc revolves around theft and exploitation at one of the last factories of Lear County. Abuse of power draws all down the path of madness.
8 101The Tamer is Repulsive
What works in a game does not always work as well in reality, a fact that a certain FDMMORPG (Full-Dive-Massively-Multiplayer-Online-Role-Playing-Game) player discovers when he is yanked from the game-world into another one. His unique set of in-game skills and traits, designed to help him get the most powerful monsters on his side, end up nearly causing his death. Escaping at the last moment, The Repulsive Tamer named Vaile goes on a grand adventure to see those Tamed Beings of his that exist in the New World, but he must be careful. After all, death is but a heartbeat away when you are the ugliest conceivable being to ‘civilized people’ and an absolute hunk to monsters. (WARNING!
