《The Secretary》I could, but should I?

We pulled into the hotel parking lot, well, more like rented mansion. We had the place to ourselves, the 70 acre estate. The house itself was absolutely beautiful.
The place was absolutely stunning. White pillars going into the white ceiling over the porch top. The roof tiles a light grey, multiple windows, all clean and spotless. Giant doors to welcome us, with a couple of ladies greeting us on the other side.
"Jensen, we're only here for a couple of days, not the entire vacation." I whispered to him, leaning towards his ear.
"I know, but Jj deserves the best. As well as you, I'm trying to make up for all of those years. I told you, I want you to be as happy as possible, no matter how much money it cost." He said.
"You of all people should know I don't need this fancy of a place to stay at for 2 days." I said as I gawked at the large chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
Jensen chuckled. "I know, but I figured a couple surprises here and there wouldn't hurt." He said, watching as Jj ran through the large house, trying to look at everything at once.
"Besides, we are in Hebrew aren't we?" He smirked.
"Oh my gosh Jensen, I didn't mean rent a huge mansion to stay two days in Utah, please don't tell me you did the same thing for the other states as well?" I asked.
"Would you be mad if I said yes?" He asked.
"Mad no, maybe a little exasperated, yes." I said, grabbing a hold of his arm, and hanging on him.
"Then, no. No I did not." He said, a smile playing at his lips.
"Oh my god Jensen. You didn't have to spend so much money on this trip." I mumbled, face poking myself.

"Yes, you're right. I didn't have to, I chose too. I wanted to make this special, for both of my girls." He said, giving me a kiss on the cheek and then going off to find his daughter, Jj.
I stood there, my hand slowly going to my cheek where his lips had touched my skin. I could get used to that. His affection. I could get used to his pet names, and his devotion to make me happy. I could get used to this, all of this. But should I?
I shook the though from my head and I caught up with the two, having a pillow fight on one of the beds in a bedroom. Feathers were everywhere, and just as I had gotten in the bedroom, Jj had smacked Jensen with a pillow in the face, and he fell dramatically to the floor.
"Haha! I got you! You loose!" Jj screamed in excitement as she jumped on her father.
"Oof- you little bugger!" He said, instantly grabbing her and finding her tickle spots as she squealed out in laughter.
I could help but smile, seeing the two bond with each other, as they should've done as Jj grew up. I was glad they were getting the chance to be together now, as a family. As father and daughter should be.
I leaned on the doorway, watching as Jj fought to get free, then dragging herself towards me while Jensen reached to grab her ankle, pulling her back for another tickle fight, and hearing her squeals as she cried out for me to help her.
"Y/n!...help!....me!" She managed to get out in between fits of laughter.
"Oh alright." I said, getting off of the door way, and laughing for Jj.
I managed to grab her from his arms, and roll away from him, setting her down just in time for Jensen to grab me instead of her and instantly the tickling started on me.

The next thing I knew, I was laughing helplessly, as both Jensen and Jj attacked me. Tickling me until I was out of breath. Jensen had been lying on top of me, straddling my hips to keep me in place, while Jj sat down next to my side, tickling my neck.
Finally Jj had started complaining about wanting to explore the mansion a little more, to which Jensen complied, but only if she had taken a house maid with her, to which she agreed and ran off.
Jensen was still straddling my hips, laughing as he watched his daughter bolt out of the door, and around the corner. I couldn't help but laugh with him, seeing her sudden burst of energy to send her body sprawling in all directions as she ran.
Our laughter died out as Jensen looked down at me. His look was intense, a mix of feelings. Almost as if he had never been so lucky, and yet like he lost something but gained another.
He leaned down slowly, his fingers playing with my hair. His eyes searched my face, trailing from my hair, to my eyes, nose, and finally my lips.
He leaned in even more, his lips just hovering a few inches from mine, and his eyes filtered back up to mine, as if he was asking permission. I had no intention of stopping him, letting him press his lips firmly to mine.
They were warm, and soft. Just how I'd imagined them to be. He was gentle, and his hands came up my body, one in my lower back, and the other trailing up to my neck.
I sat up, getting in a more comfortable position as his kiss grew more intense. His hand crept into my hair, curling around the locks. He pulled slightly on it, earning a moan from me.
Instantly I pushed him off, climbing up to my feet. He said nothing, instead just stared at me with more hurt in his eyes than a kicked puppy. I merely looked at him, and cleared my throat, brushing off my shirt and walking out through the bedroom door.
I shouldn't be getting used to it. Jensen Ackles is my boss, nothing more. I will not be another one of his side chicks, nor will I be here after this road trip. I'm quitting my job and moving on with my life. That was how this was going to go, nothing more.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
