《The Secretary》Your turn.

I shifted my feet, trying to decide if I should tell him who Jeremy is.

Jeremy is my best friend, and has been there for me for the past 6 years, including the 4 years when Jensen wasn't.

I don't know why I was hesitating so much, I just knew that telling Jensen about Jeremy could cause some drama between the two, and because I quit my job, I don't want to deal with that drama.

"No one." I answered Jensen.

"If he was no one, you wouldn't have said 'I love you'. So who is Jer?" Jensen pressed.

"I said no one." I answered him, turning my back and looking through the clothes once more.

"Is Jer short for Jeremy?" Jensen whispered in my ear.

I stayed silent, ignoring him for the most part.

"It is, isn't it? Is Jeremy your boyfriend? Friend with benefits? Lover? I bet you I could do so much more baby girl." Jensen whispered seductively, dragging his hand from my shoulder down my side, stopped at my hip, and slowly moving his hand towards my core.

I moved and slapped his hand away.

"I have more respect for myself than to be one of your slutty play toys." I growled and walked away.

Jensen followed me, so quick he was stepping on my heels. I stopped abruptly, Jensen crashed into my back, his chest pressing against my back. I took one step forward and turned around.

"Where's Jj?" I asked him, searching the store for his daughter.

"Right here." I heard her voice squeak from behind me as I felt small fingers curling around mine. "Oh okay, good. You ready to go?" I asked her.

"Yup. I got everything that I wanted." She said.

"Okay, lets go check out." I said as I grabbed her hand and led her to the check out stand with Jensen behind her.

I handed Jj's items to the cashier, letting Jensen pay for her. After Jj's things were payed for, I handed my own items to the cashier, pulling out my wallet.

Jensen grabbed my wallet and shoved it into his back pocket, and pulled out his own.

"Don't worry about it, I'll pay for you." He said quietly.

"I'll have to pay you back, so just let me pay." I said back.

"No you don't have to pay me back. Just let me pay for you y/n." He said as he pulled out a few hundred dollar bills and handed them to the cashier.

Before handing Jensen his change she asked, "Did you want to make a donation to the children's hospital for cancer patients?"

"Yeah, just put all of my change in the donation." Jensen said.

"Okay, have a nice day sir." She said, putting the receipt in the bag and handed it to him.

He handed me my bag of clothing, and we walked out of the store in silence. Jj skipped along in front of us, while Jensen and I walked side by side.

I snuck a glance at Jensen, seeing his head hung low, and his expression full of sadness.

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked him quietly.

"Hm? Oh yeah I'm fine." He said, picking his head up and his expression changing into a big smile.

"No, Jensen, you're not. What's wrong?" I asked him, laying my hand on his arm, and stepping in front of him.

He shrugged off my hand, and looked behind me, keeping and eye on Jj.

"Really, nothing is wrong. Let's keep up with Jj and go home." He said as he side stepped me, and walked away.

I turned around and walked behind them, watching as Jensen grabbed Jj's little hand, and walked with her to the car.

We got in the car silently, Jj in the back seat, with Jensen driving, and myself in shotgun.

It took about 15 minutes for someone to break the silence.

"Y/n when we get home, can you help me pack?" Jj asked.

"Yeah of course Jj. I'll help you pack." I said.

"Thank you." She said, and just like that, the silence was back.

When we pulled into Jensen's driveway, Jj jumped out of the car, and ran to the door. I stayed seated, as did Jensen. There was nothing but silence for a good 2 minutes.

"I'm sorry for my actions in the store." Jensen said, looking down in shame. I stayed silent, not knowing what to say.

"I shouldn't have treated you like one of the girls that I bring into my office. You're so much more than just a girl that I fuck for my own release." Jensen said, his voice growing quieter with every word.

I stared at him, I wanted to say that forgave him, that it was okay, but when I opened my mouth, nothing came out. I pulled my hand away from his arm, not realizing that I went to touch him in the first place. I threw my hand in my lap, throwing my head down and fidgeted with my fingers, then looked out the window, then pulling my attention back to him.

"Jensen, if this is going to work, then we need to make our relationship clear." I said, not expecting those words to come out of my mouth.

"Wait, relationship? Y/n what are you talking about?" Jensen asked, looking up at me quickly.

"I meant our professional relationship, not only that but the friendship that we shared. I've been a bitch to you lately, and I know that. I'm not saying sorry for being a bitch, I'm not saying that I don't forgive you, I'm saying that in order for this trip to work for you and Jj, you need to keep our relationship strictly professional, as for salvaging our friendship, that's up to you to fix." I said, saving myself from sinking in embarrassment.

Jensen stared at me, then opened his mouth.

"What do you mean "That's up to you"? In order for a friendship to work, we both have to put in the effort." Jensen accused.

"You pushes me away when I tried to help you. YOU pushed me away, not the other way around. The only reason why I've been a bitch to you today is because I'm tired of your shit Jensen." I said, my voice becoming a whisper. "I've tried to be there for you all this time, and this morning, I just snapped. I just can't keep trying to be there for you if you're not going to put in any effort. I've been putting in so much of my life to try and keep this friendship afloat. It's like every time I do something to make the friendship stronger, you shoot canons and bombs at the small wall of friendship that I built, and it comes crumbling back down."

Jensen stared at me, then looked down at the seat he was sitting on.

"So when I say that this friendship is up to you, it's means I've put in the effort for this to work, and now it's your turn."
