"Can I ask you something, Ayame-chan?" Asahi approached the girl. Ayame looked up at the ace.
"Yes? What's wrong, Asahi-san?"
"Um...Do you think I can do a jump serve?" he asked her, his voice full of doubt. Her violet eyes suddenly sparkled in excitement and interest as she stared up at him.
"Really?! You want to do a jump serve?! Amazing, Asahi-san!!"
The ace laughed sheepishly "Thanks...so, do you think I can do it?"
Her face turned slightly serious as she analyzed him. Her eyes observed his body built as Asahi tries to understand what their genius first year is thinking. She gave a slow nod and looked up at him.
"Sure, I'm pretty sure you can do it, Asahi-san" she smiled "Let me guess, you wanted to do a jump serve after watching Ubugawa High, right?"
"Yeah" he nodded "Do you think I can safely use it in a match once I honed it?"
"Of course. It's also your weapon, Asahi-san. You can do it" she told him "Though I kinda guessed this would happen"
"Eh? Seriously?" he blinked in surprise "Do you have some kind of ESP or something?"
"No, not like that, I kinda saw it from your expression when you saw Ubugawa High during the training camp" she explained "I also saw that expression when Tadashi-kun wanted to learn a jump float serve. It kinda reminds me about that..."
"Is that so?" the ace smiled "Well, thank you, Ayame-chan"
"I'm happy to help, Asahi-san"
*Inside the library*
"There you are, Ayame-chan" Daichi grabbed a chair and sat across her. She took off her earphones as the third year took a seat "What are you watching on your phone?"
"Oh, I'm currently watching Brazil's combination attack. I'm planning to have you guys try doing that and Ukai-san agreed as well. I already sent the link to him so we could practice later" she replied.

"You're working hard, huh? Make sure you don't push yourself, though" he warned. She sighed and nodded.
"I can't lose to you guys. Asahi-san's practicing a jump serve and I was told that Yuu-senpai wanted to learn a libero's toss. Also, Kageyama-kun is practicing his new stopping toss and Shoyo-kun is practicing mid-air battles. I want to change and become stronger too"
He smiled and ruffled her hair "I'm rooting for you, Ayame-chan. Oh, that's right. Starting now, we'll be using the first gymnasium to practice when the girls are done practicing. In that way, there will be more room for us to practice"
"Eh~...did you ask Michimiya-san?" she grinned.
"Yes, and I know what you're thinking so stop that" he warned.
*Ding~dong~ding~*
"Ah, our next class is about to start" she gathered up her things and stood up "Daichi-nii, see you later"
"Ayame-chan" he called out and she turned around "Stay true to yourself, okay?"
She was silent for a few seconds before replying "I'm always true to myself"
She walked out and the captain sighed as he looked outside.
"Again...she did it again..."
*Club Activities*
"Why is nii-chan telling me to stay true to myself? I'm true to myself...probably..." she sighed internally as she changed her uniform to a shirt and pants with their female managers inside the girls' changing room "Stupid me. Who am I kidding? I'm such a huge liar..."
"Ayame-chan" Shimizu called, making her flinch in surprise "Hitoka-chan and I are done changing. You still haven't worn your t-shirt and you were staring ahead for some time. Is something troubling you?"
"Oh, I'm sorry!" she hastily wore her shirt and folded her uniform and placed them inside the cabinet "I'm done. I'm sorry if I made you two wait"

"No, it's fine" he third year said "Are you not feeling well?"
"Ah, no, I'm okay. I was busy thinking something. Sorry"
"I see. I'm glad that you're okay"
After changing, they went to the first gymnasium where the guys are waiting for them. Just in time, the girls' volleyball team was done practicing and gave the key to Daichi.
"We'll leave the rest up to you guys!" Michimiya told them.
"Thanks!"
"Michimiya-san, thank you for helping us out!!" Ayame bowed in gratitude.
"Its fine, Ayame-chan, anything to help a fellow team"
"Hai! My expectation for you was boosted! I'm totally supporting you for Dai-" she was cut off because Daichi quickly covered her mouth.
"Thanks a lot, Michimiya. I'm sorry if she's rambling again" he apologized, while the violet eyed girl is struggling to remove his hand.
"Ah, I don't mind. Make sure you guys lock the gym after use"
"OSU!!"
When the guys entered the gym, the captain finally removed his hand and Ayame crossed her arms.
"Nii-chan, how could you?" she pouted.
"Just...stay quiet about that, okay?"
"...Fine~" she sighed loudly and went inside the gymnasium "Ukai-san, did you saw the link I sent you?"
"Yep, got it here" he opened his tablet and showed them a video of Brazil's match. While watching, Ayame saw Tsukishima and Yamaguchi pass by the entrance and she quickly ran to them.
"Wait!" she called and the two boys turned "Are you two going home now?"
"Yeah" the freckled teen nodded "It seems that you were busy so we went ahead so we don't have to disturb you"
"Oh..." she said, feeling a little down that they left her "But you'll be practicing with my mom again, right? Your jump float serve?"
He heard the slight excitement and hope in her voice and he nodded "Yeah, I'll ask her later if she's not busy"
She smiled, feeling a little happy "I'll see you later, then!"
They both went out and she returned back to her teammates.
"What was that, Ayame-chan?" Daichi asked.
"Oh, it was nothing" she answered, smiling a little "That was weird...Why did I feel so down earlier and then, I felt so...happy? Crap, I couldn't stop smiling...What's wrong with me?"
"Ah~...kids these days~..." Sugawara grinned "Ayame-chan, you seemed to be smiling. Care to share why?"
"E-Eh?! I-Is it creepy to you guys?!" she asked, covering her mouth.
"Hmm...not really...just curious" the grey haired setter said "Did something happen earlier?"
"S-Something?" she echoed "Not really..."
"Suga, what do you mean by that?" Daichi asked him.
He gave him a deadpanned expression, thinking "Really, Daichi? You still haven't realized it? Good grief..."
"Figure it out yourself, Daichi" he replied.
