"Go, go, let's go! Let's go, Date Tech!!"
"Go, go, go, go, go, go, Seijoh!!"
"Shi~ratorizawa!!"
"Finally, I get to watch a real competition on the side court!!" Ayame grinned, her eyes sparkling brightly "Uwaah~! It's so loud!! So many people are watching!! I could feel my insides twisting themselves!!"
"Ayame, are you all right?" Coach Ukai asked her "Are you nervous? It's your first time, after all"
"Yes! I'm so nervous!!" she excitingly said, jumping up and down.
"Well, I guess we're good then" their coach grinned "Tokonami High is our first opponent. They're seriously fired up"
"Right" she nodded, looking at the certain hyperactive players "I hope they don't mess up due to excitement. I pity nii-chan. He'll have to control them as the captain"
***
"Everyone, congratulations!!" Ayame greeted them on their first victory.
"OSU!!"
"Hey, listen, your opponents next are Date Tech, obviously" Coach Ukai told them "All of you, rest up! The match starts at 1:30 p.m., make sure you have a light lunch"
"RIGHT!!"
After their lunch and a short break, Karasuno proceeded on the next court and started practicing receives. "Everyone seems tense", Ayame thought, "Is it because they're facing Date Tech again, especially after what happened to Asahi-san?" Once it was Nishinoya's turn, Ayame whispered at the Coach Ukai's ear.
"Aim on the most left side"
The coach nodded and did as he was told. Nishinoya dived for it and shouted "Rolling...Thunder!! Again!!"
The ball was perfectly caught by Ayame and everyone stared at him. The libero stood proudly "That was perfect"
"Noya-san, nice receive" Tanaka told him, stifling a laugh "That was perfection itself! Except for the name..."
"The name was perfect, too!!" he answered defensively.
"Teach me! Teach me the Again version, too!" Hinata asked him, starry eyed.
Coach Ukai and Mr. Takeda stared at the libero before smiling at his confidence. Ayame smiled lightly and gave him a thumbs up "Great receive, Yuu-senpai"
"All right! There's nothing to worry about!" Nishinoya told them "All of you, keep your eyes forward! Because you have me guarding your backs!"
The tense atmosphere changed as soon the Guardian Deity said those words and it made the whole team feel better and more confident.
"A-Awesome!!" Kageyama, Hinata, and Tanaka said.
"Wow, he restored their confidence!" Mr. Takeda noted.
"Yeah" Coach Ukai said, smiling "He's a truly outstanding libero"
"Everyone, do your best!" Ayame told them, smiling brightly "Yuu-senpai, your charisma and confidence is amazing. Thank you for restoring their confidence! You're an amazing libero and senpai! As expected from a Guardian Deity!" she told the libero while patting his head.

Nishinoya's face reddened and he grinned widely "ALL RIGHT!! I'M FIRED UP!!!"
Her face turned serious and they listened closely.
"All right, remember. Don't let Date Tech's blocks faze you. We will use the weirdo quick to throw them off guard so they're attention will fix on Shoyo-kun. Their #7 is a read blocker and he can catch up to Shoyo-kun's speed if we kept using the weirdo quick, like Inouka-kun from Nekoma. Don't be fooled by his huge build, he can move quite fast despite his size. Everyone, we're counting on you!!" Ayame told them.
"OSU!!"
"Good job, Ayame" Coach Ukai told her, ruffling her hair.
"Even if they will block our attackers, we must hold on to the floor defence. It will be hard for them to concentrate if the lead against Date Tech is huge" Ayame nervously stated, biting her lip.
*After Two Sets*
"Finally..." Sugawara sighed "The match earlier was a bit intense..."
"Thank goodness...we won..." Ayame thought, sighing in relief "Guys, I brought some rice balls as our snacks. I made them myself. Consider this as a reward for your hard work" she said, holding a basket. Hinata, Tanaka, and Nishinoya jumped and high fived each other.
"That's our Ayame!!"
"THANK YOU FOR THE FOOD!!" the players each grabbed a rice ball and ate it hungrily. To their joy, she also brought some iced tea for the team and they started to worship her as their angel, bowing and praising her in public.
"Angel-sama~! You're so awesome!!"
"Stop that! It's embarrassing!" she scolded them after she saw people looking at them weirdly.
***
"What teams are still playing?" Kageyama asked them, chewing on his rice ball.
"Shiratorizawa's starting their second set. I think Aoba Johsai is in their match point so they're probably done by now" Ayame answered, drinking her tea.
"Ayame, great job earlier" Coach Ukai ruffled her hair and gave her a pack of chocolate Pocky sticks "Here, as a reward for a job well done"
Ayame grinned widely "Thank you!" she accepted it and popped a Pocky stick in her mouth. She has no doubts that their opponents tomorrow will be Aoba Johsai. For now, they have to rest and observe other matches.
"First day of the Inter High Prelims: done" she thought, munching on the Pocky.
"Hey, Cutie-chan!" a familiar cheerful voice echoed in the hall and they all robotically twisted their heads to see Seijoh's captain, waving his hand.
"Ah, it's Oikawa-san" Ayame said "Are you done with your match, Shittykawa-san?"
An arrow pierced Oikawa's back and the players snickered at the nickname. Oikawa pouted and pretended to act hurt.
"Aw, Ayame-chan, you're so mean~! Iwa-chan's not a good influence to you so don't listen to him!" he whined, remembering the time she first called him that "And stop calling me that!"

"Eh? You're calling me "Cutie-chan" so I guess you deserve a nickname so it's only fair" she bluntly stated. The players nodded in agreement, smiling evilly.
"B-but Cutie-chan is a cute nickname for you! And that nickname doesn't fit me!" he complained. She looked at him confusingly and Oikawa realized she's probably not going to get it. He grudgingly accepted the nickname and changed the topic.
"Anyway, yeah, we just won" he cheekily grinned "By the way, great job, Ayame-chan" he said, ruffling her hair. Everyone in the Karasuno boy's team tensed but they pretended to act normal. Goodness, making a scene won't help them boost their reputations.
"I see...Congratulations, I guess..." she said, smiling politely. Oikawa eyed the Pocky on her hand and a thought occurred to him.
"Neh, Cutie-chan, is that a Pocky?" he asked, smiling cheerfully. Ayame nodded and he grinned wider.
"Can you put a Pocky in your mouth? I want to show you a little something~" he said. Curiosity overcame her and she innocently did what she was asked. She popped a Pocky in her mouth and looked at him curiously.
Oikawa cupped her cheeks and bit the Pocky sticking out from her mouth, just an inch close to her mouth. Everyone's eyes widened and Nishinoya and Tanaka were about to attack the setter but the second years pulled them back. Daichi's gears turned to overprotective brother mode and the third years were struggling to keep him down.
"He...he...he almost k-kissed her..." Yamaguchi thought "That was almost a kiss!!"
What was Ayame's reaction?
She only stared at him blankly.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
And punched his stomach. Real bad...
Oikawa crumpled to the ground while clutching his stomach from the pain. The violet eyed girl's expression turned into somewhat of a demon's, with a fire background burning intensely. Her usual gentle violet eyes had a demonic look in it and she's baring her teeth in anger. Everyone quickly scooted away from her as she looked at Seijoh's captain with quiet rage.
"Crap, we're witnessing her demon side" Daichi gulped, inching farther from her "You guys stay away from her if you want to survive"
They didn't think twice and quickly moved farther, leaving Ayame and Oikawa in the center.
"Ne, Oikawa-san~" she said in a dangerous tone "You know what I hated most? I really hate it when other people eat my chocolates without my permission, you know?"
Oh, did I forget to mention she's pretty possessive when it comes to chocolates?
"Eh?" Oikawa blinked, not believing what he heard "W-what?"
She cracked her knuckles and glared at him in the eye. All color in his face was gone after she glared at him. He felt scared by this demonic girl in front of him.
"I will let you slide on this one since I'm in a good mood, Oikawa-san" she calmly told him "I will give you three seconds to run. One..."
He was gone in a flash by the time she reached two.
Ayame continued munching the Pocky, her former aura gone after eating the chocolate. Daichi and the others sighed after they saw she's back to normal.
"Daichi-san, what just happened?" Yamaguchi whispered.
The captain sighed as he told them "Well, Ayame-chan can be a little possessive when it comes to chocolates. She refused to share it unless they ask nicely but...that rarely happened"
"You see, when we were kids, Ayame-chan used to be bullied by boys because of her eyes. She didn't fight back and she's extremely shy and silent but, they crossed the lines" he gulped.
"Let me guess" Tsukishima raised his hand "They took her chocolates and ate it"
"Exactly" he nodded "She snapped and, well...there were three boys and they were bigger than her so..." he shuddered as he recalled it "She became a demon, like earlier, and beat the hell out of them. I think those boys were sent in the hospital for a week and luckily, she wasn't in trouble...much"
"She was told that she must apologize to the boys and promised that she won't fight them again. That promise was pointless since they avoided her every time they saw her with a ten meter gap. I think that was the last time I saw her like that"
Everyone on the team shuddered as they imagined the violet eyed girl's capabilities. Who would've have thought she can be like that sometimes?
"H-Hospital...one week..." Hinata paled, imagining the events.
"Who would've expected that our supposedly gentle natured strategist had a demonic side?" Sugawara sighed.
"She kinda reminds me of Daichi-san when mad, right?" Tanaka whispered to Nishinoya, who nodded in response.
***
"Oi, Oikawa, hurry up and-" Iwaizumi was about to curse at him when he saw Oikawa's beaten state "What the hell happened to you?"
"She punched me, Iwa-chan...and threatened me" he cried comically. Iwaizumi's ears perked and he grinned unknowingly.
"Eh? Threatened and punched, you say? By who?" he asked.
Oikawa looked at him with crying eyes "Ayame-chan did"
"Oh? That girl? Damn, I didn't watch it. Hey, remind me to thank her next time" Iwaizume told him "Oi, Hanamaki! Matsukawa! Listen, Oikawa's been punched by a girl!!"
"Iwa-chan! You're so mean!"

The Choice is Not Yours
Author's Note: (As of November 20, 2021) I rewrote all the chapters perhaps more than a year ago, but haven't announced that I did so. Because that kind of announcement would include something along the lines of, "I'm working on the story so expect new chapters!" But the truth is, I lack motivation to do anything. And I would hate myself if I broke a promise. I'm extremely sorry if you have been patiently waiting for uploads. These days, I've been studying, not well, but studying somewhat. I will definitely bring more to show, with regular uploads. If not this story then there's another story I've been writing that's really exciting to me. It's not exactly similar to this story since it has a male lead and he is a baneful asshole with even less morals. I hope you'll like it when it comes to existence. And I'll leave my announcement off with the aforementioned promise. Meet Amber, a tomboyish, unstable, and cheeky lass who likes to keep to herself. According to her, she'll live the rest of her life on auto-pilot mode, awhile holding onto the few things that make her remotely happy. However, she forgot that people never really leave you alone, be it humans or even the Gods. And exactly that happens, ending her monotonous life on such the Gods' whim. But at what cost to her? Will she be able to hold onto the things she holds dear? Or will she fail miserably and lose herself in the process? That's what the Gods want to know. Disclaimer: I do not own the cover photo.Warning: If you are easily triggered, I am not writing this novel for you.

Neophyte: Common Route
A story about self-discovery, interpersonal relationships, magic and magical creatures-- and a silent war. Marsha is about seven years past adulthood and still feels like a scared child in her parents' home. This is exacerbated when she discovers her father has apparently keyed up his destructive, sadistic habits-- leading to a mad dash out of the house with precious cargo in tow and only one idea where to go. This begins her journey, leading to a discovery that will change her life forever. And she never wants to go back. (Warnings: Lots of descriptions of abusive, sadistic and otherwise traumatizing and triggering behavior that a parent perpetuated toward a child or multiple children. Descriptions of violence, a main character with emotional issues that will be dealt with, and a whole lot of the 'aftermath' of battles in a war. Even a few descriptions of some of those battles. Things of that nature. If you can't handle one of those, please do not read.) {I had this idea to write a 'common route' and then 'romance routes' like they do in otomes? Book 1 is the common route, and then at book 2, you choose your love interest. Each of which is encased in their own book.}
