《Violet Eyes || Haikyuu!! Fanfiction ||》Chapter 21: Notice

"Eh? Where did Kageyama and Hinata go?" Yamaguchi asked after noticing that their futons are empty. Tsukishima grabbed his phone and went downstairs "Those two idiots went jogging first"
"Oh..."
"Yamaguchi, wake her up, I'll be going downstairs to prepare" Tsukishima told him. The boy nodded and he left. However, he got distracted by her sleeping state. She looked so peaceful, so...naturally sweet. And cute. From someone from a prestigious all-girls school, she's different. She would get loud mouthed when volleyball is mentioned yet her analytic skills are amazing. She's soft-spoken and gentle yet she could curse and would sometimes turn scary when mad.
(When someone from Aoba Johsai insulted that Hinata was useless because he's short, she glared at him sharply with a dark aura surrounding her)
She could control Tsukishima's provocative and riling personality, a talent that even he can't do. She's kind, gentle (mostly), and very supportive at the team. Hell, someone would say her personality was clipped off in some shojo manga. She nearly defined the word perfect.
However, the boy knew that she has her flaws. She's freaking innocent and pure minded, making some "perverted idiots" take advantage of her (Nearly happened once). She would give in every time volleyball is mentioned. She's a bit insecure about her skills sometimes. And he could sense that she's carrying a heavy burden that she's hiding.
It's unfair, really. She can be cute unconsciously and consciously. Girls never really talked to him, except if they are asking for Tsukishima's number and information. She talked to him comfortably and she's not infatuated to his bestfriend, from what he sees anyway.
Ayame mumbled in her sleep and the freckled teen noticed it. Her body trembled lightly and she bit her lower lip.
"Dad...I'm sorry..." she mumbled, gripping the blanket tightly "Please...don't leave me...I-I didn't mean to..."

A bad dream, he thought. A stray strand fell on her face and Yamaguchi wanted to tuck her hair but he is scared that she might wake up. "Sh-should I? Sh-she would probably won't mind and no one's watching, particularly Nishinoya-san and Tanaka-san"
After 10 seconds of doubt, he gently tucked her hair behind her ear. Her hair was really soft and smooth and he was soon gently stroking her head. Her body relaxed and she stopped trembling. She unknowingly smiled and sighed in comfort. Yamaguchi was smiling and he kept stroking her head, feeling a little distracted to her face.
"There...much better..."
"Oya?" an amused voice said. The freckled teen flinched and quickly withdrew his hand, turning to face at the amused looking Tsukishima.
"T-that was n-nothing!"
"Idiot, I saw what you're doing. Lying to me is pointless" he said "Too bad I didn't take a picture of it...Nishinoya-san and Tanaka-san would've flipped if they saw it...."
"Please, Tsukki....don't tell Daichi-san or anyone...." The freckled teen pleaded, afraid at the outcome if they knew what he did. Even if he just stroked her head, he tends to overthink things a bit. Tsukishima rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Uh...Tsukki, do you notice something about Ayame?" Yamaguchi asked him. He knew that the megane has a sharp eye and he wanted to confirm something.
"About what?"
"Er...about her eyes..."
"Oh yes, I notice that her eyes are violet" he mockingly answered. Yamaguchi deadpanned and sighed.
"No, not about her eye colour...what I mean is, well...the expression in her eyes..."
Tsukishima thought hard "Hmm...no, nothing...except when volleyball is mentioned, she gets overly excited and starry-eyed. Why?"
Yamaguchi gulped "Nothing...maybe I'm just imagining it..." he muttered. Maybe he was really imagining it. But something inside him was being defiant that he could see a hint of fear and sadness in it. He hoped that Tsukishima's right.

"Anyway, why didn't you wake her up?"
"I-I got distracted..." he reasons out. He got distracted by Ayame's sleeping state.
The tall blonde made a tsk sound and went near the girl "Ayame, wake up" Tsukishima told her, shaking her. The girl groaned and tightly held her blanket closer "Give me 5 minutes..." she mumbled.
So cute...
"Tsk, looks like I have no choice but to do it..." he sighed. Tsukishima pulled her blanket off and Ayame sleepily groaned, still not waking up. Yamaguchi was confused on what his friend was doing. The tall blonde grabbed her ankle and stroked her foot, slowly.

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday. People are less forgiving and more critical to published writers, it seems. I'll post whenever my mental health allows. Hope everyone understands.
