《My Lazy Prince》Chapter 9

I opened my eyes to find myself in an unfamiliar place. I sat up and looked around.

I was in a field, surrounded by green grass and flowers of every color. The sky was a baby blue color that slowly faded into shades of pink.

"I’m glad you're awake. You have been asleep for quite sometime now." I quickly turned my head to where the voice was coming from. My eyes widened when I saw the old man that I haven't seen in over two years.

"Mr. Sato?" I asked. The old man smiled as he nodded his head.

He then turned around and started walking. I quickly stood up and rushed to his side, not knowing what in the world was happening.

We started walking without saying a word. The next thing I knew was that we were walking up a small hill.

On the top of the hill was a big sakura tree. Its leaves were a beautiful shade of pink that looked like precious gems.

I walked up to the tree and admired its beauty. The leaves look like real diamonds. I awed.

"Beautiful isn’t it, Ms. (Y/N)?" Mr. Sato asked. I nodded as Mr. Sato nodded back in agreement.

"Mr. Sato, What is this place?" I asked.

"This is my own personal place that I have created. It is a place of peace and beauty." he explained.

I suddenly remembered all the events that had happened earlier. Oh, yeah right. I’m dead now. I was killed by that bastard Muzan. I hate this.

"Is this heaven?" I asked. Mr. Sato shook his head.

"This is a world where the living cannot go, but neither is it heaven." I looked at Mr. Sato for a few seconds, then looked at the beautiful pink-blue sky. A few minutes passed, I decided to ask another question.

"Does that mean you're dead too, Mr. Sato? You are in the world where the living can't go."

Once again, Mr. Sato shook his head. "I am not dead, Ms. (Y/N), nor am I amongst the living."

Now, I'm confused. "I assume you are wondering what I mean, am I right?" I nodded, while Mr. Sato just smiled.

"You see, Ms. (Y/N). I am what I like to call A Collector, meaning I am responsible for who dies and who lives in the mortal world. It is also my job to collect the souls of the mortals whose time's are up.” Mr. Sato explained.

I was shocked for a moment, but then quickly returned to my usual calm expression.

"I guess that makes sense." I paused for a moment. "But Mr. Sato, why are you a doctor?"

"As I said, Ms. (Y/N). I am responsible for who lives and who dies. My position as a doctor in the mortal world helps me with my job."

"Well…" I took a deep breath. "I guess my time is up then."

"On the contrary, Ms.(Y/N)." Mr. Sato said. "It wasn’t really your time to go."

"Huh?"

"Why do you think I did not bring you to heaven yet? You were supposed to get better in a couple of days. If only Mr. Kibutsuji did not punch that hole into your stomach, you would have lived."

Great! Another reason to put in the "" list.

"So, I was supposed to live?"

Mr. Sato nodded, looking up at the sky. A calming wind passed through, making the cherry tree sway from side to side. Petals scattered everywhere, making it look like a scene you read in books.

"You must be wanting to go back to the mortal world, now." I nodded slowly, while cherry petals landed on my head. "In that case." Mr. Sato continued. He looked directly at me, still smiling sweetly "You may return."

I began jumping with joy and I cheered happily. Yes! Second life, here I come! "Thank you very much, Mr. Sato!"

"There is no need to thank me. After all, you weren’t meant to die, yet."

I nodded, and stretched my arms. Feeling energized and happy, like I was before. A feeling of determination ceased through me.

"I can finally go back to, Doma." I muttered, smiling sweetly to myself. Suddenly, I felt a tight grip on my wrist.

"You mustn't go back to him." Mr. Sato calmly exclaimed.

"Huh? But, Mr. Sato. He’s my-"

"I know, Ms. (Y/N), but you mustn't. It isn’t the right time yet."

I looked at the old man with both confusion and sadness. But I knew better than to argue with a powerful being, such as himself, so I nodded. I don't understand. Why can't I see him?

"Alright...I wont see him." I sadly whispered.

Mr. Sato gave me a small smile, while he released his grip on my wrist. "Do not dismay, Ms. (Y/N). You will see him again. It's just not the right time." Mr. Sato assured me

I nodded slowly, and gave him a small smile.

"You'll see, Ms. (Y/N). You will play a very important role in this world.”

Before i could ask what Mr. Sato ment, the ground beneath me started shaking. A gigantic crack came in between both me and Mr. Sato, separating us.

I started to panic as more cracks formed. I looked over at Mr. Sato, who was standing calmly still. How on earth!?

"Goodbye, Ms. (Y/N). May we meet again, someday." Mr. Sato looked at me with gentle eyes.

I looked back down, as the ground shook more aggressively. "I hope you enjoy your gift." was the last thing the old man said, as the ground opened up.

I started to fall down the large crack. The last thing I saw was Mr. Sato’s sweet smile looking down at me.

I closed my eyes shut, as I waited for me to hit the ground.

I woke up by a river. I got up and looked around. I sighed as I gazed upon the blue running water in the river. I can just follow the river, and find my way back to the cult. But, I chose not to.

I turned away from the river, and looked at the thick forest in front of me. I took one last glance at the river, and started walking into the sea of trees.

"Goodbye, my prince"
