《Why Did I do This to Myself?!? (One Piece Fanfic)》Aokiji's is Best

Entering the gates of the islands marine base, I observed some of the marines try and get an explanation from Garp-sama on why he's here. Is he just here to abandon be or something? That's cold man, real cold.
I kinda feel bad fot the marines that are getting brushed aside. There just trying to do there job man. I need coffee...
Entering a office I see Aokiji sitting in a chair looking up from his paper's, he has a mutual face but I can see the confusion he's experiencing right now. Why am I here?
"Garp... Why are you here?" Cool I'm being ignored.
"Remember that deal you owe me? I need you to take care of this brat for a couple weeks." Wtf??? Garp has such a dump face I can't.
"Why did you bring me with you if you were going to dump me???" What's his thought process, like seriously.
I think Aokjij is having the same thought process, he also looks dumbfounded. Guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree, Luffy would probably do the same as Garp-sama.
"Me look after a kid? Why do you even have a child with you to begin with??" I ask myself that every day.
"Thanks for looking after them! I'll be back in 2 weeks!" I'm then dropped on the floor as Garp-sama escapes the scene.
I spin around still sitting on the floor. "Why are you leaving me with a stranger?!? At lest give me more context!" A anime depression mushroom starts to grow on my head.
Ok, what about my... Nevermind my stuff just aperd out of nowhere. But this is very awkward, is this some sort of punishment for Aokiji? I'm not that upset about this but I feel bad for the person I was left with. He looks like he's weighing the pro's and cons of just abandoning me somewhere.

Guess I'll just sit on the floor then! I don't know what to do in this situation. I can feel his eyes burning into my soul. Just look at the wall, I'm just gonna look at the wall till something happens. Actually...
"Do you have coffee here...?" I look back at him with a 'why did this happen' expression.
"Ya, we got a new shipment of it yesterday. The coffee machine is on the mess hall, get me a cup while your at it." Aokiji responded rubbing his temple's.
"Sure, just tell me how to get to the mess hall." I'm gonna annoy the hell out of Garp-sama when he comes back.
------------
After getting the coffee for me and Aokiji, he gave me a key for a open room I could stay in for the time being. So I got my stuff set up and sent my bugs to explore the place, also look for materials I could snag.
To be honest this is basically a vacation for me, Aokiji is pretty chill so I'm not forced to do workouts. I should probably thank Garp, but I won't. It'll inflate his ego to much or he'll put me through hell for slacking off. So that be a bust.
Op, one of my bugs found something.
...
Is... Is that a transponder snail? Why is it outside?? Was it abandoned??? ...I gotta check this out.
Sending a signal to my bugs to discreetly come back to the room, I then prosed to head outside to were one of my bugs found the snail. It wasn't looking so hot...
I slowly crouch down to there level. "Hey buddy... You good?" I said softly, the last thing I wanna do it spook em.
The snail response with a "Meow."
Getting a better look at the little fella, I notice there kinda smaller than an average transponder snail, there also blue with a yellow shell. The shell doesn't have a marine emblem on it so this isn't a marine snail, nor does it have the phone add-on. Is it wild? How did it get here? It look a little nervous...

"Hey buddy, are you lost?" There eye stocks drooped a bit, they look kinda sad.
"Did... Did you get dumped...?" The little guy's seem to get sadder, they subtlety nod there head.
Slowly reaching my hand out, I place it on their shell. "Do you have a place to go?" I got a head shake as a response, there to cute... Must adopt.
Because I can't let cute things be sad and have no self control, I asked if the snail wanted a new home. The response was a positive, so now I'm in my room with a snail I don't really know how to take care of.
"Do you have a name? Or do you want me to give you a new one, nod if you want a new name." I asked the snail I set on the rooms desk.
They nodded there small head. Ok, what to name you... I put my hand to my chin and start thinking of the best name for this dapper little fella.
"Lad, I'll call you Lad!" I point excitedly at the snail, who seems to approve of the name.
You might wonder why I named them Lad. I just like the word lad and it fits the personality I've seen them present. Also because of 'If Undertale was Realistic by SmashBitsTeam'. I thought the lad scenes were funny.
"Ow my gosh your so cute!" I just want to put a little outfit on this guy, it'd just Look so cute.
I didn't know snails could get embarrassed but I guess we learn something new everyday. They got all awkward when I complemented them and looked away. I can't with this snail.
"Your to good for this world." I say gushing over how cute they are.
But getting back to business, I need food. "You hungry?" They nodded.
I give them a thumbs up. "I'll be back."
Walking out the room I head twords the mess hall. It's not that far from the room I was given so that's nice.
Getting there I wait in line for a bit, (get some strange looks) I eventually get some lunch, grab a apple and quickly head back to my provided room. Closing the door behind me.
"I'm not sure what your diet is exactly, so I got stuff across the spectrum." I put half a ham sandwich and a apple infront of Lad.
"Meow!"
Story short, Lad ate the apple and I at the ham sandwich. They were a little startled when I revealed my mouth but that's to be expected. I like Lad allot, there so nice.
After putting my mask back on, I start petting Lad on there shell. Soon after the door randomly opens, revealing Aokiji. Shoot! I forgot to get permission to keep Lad!!
"Why do you have a transponder snail??" He said with a inquisitive look.
"I- uhh I can explain!" Panicked I pull Lad into a hug.
Putting hit hand up, he stopped me. "I'm gonna stop you right there, I don't really care. You can keep it I guess. Just take care of it, I could attach a receiver and dile if you want." This is why Aokiji is best person.
"You would do that?!" I'm kinda dumbfounded to be honest but I'm grateful.
Aokiji is now my favorite person.

And it ended thusly just aswell, t'was the great Empire's deathknell. The crackling of the burning books, dangling corpses on rusty hooks. The yellow streets of Heabury proper, colored red with human copper. -? S.V, Scholar of Dawn.' -- Author note: Hi, SeV here. I'm not a fan of writing my entire story premise in the synopsis. For that, read the prologue and chapter 1. Suffice it to say that I think it's a cool idea and I already have a few things planned and a world sort of formed in my mind. I like Epic fantasy, lightnovels with OP MCs, Litrpg, sci-fi, any many other things. This story is written for myself, so it may include all sorts of diffent elements and character interactions and even experimental things that I'm trying out as a writer in order to improve. My intention with this is to pretty much post as I write, and acquire feedback from you folks in the process. I of course hope you like my story, but feel free to criticize anything since this is a project to improve myself. Even if it isn't strictly criticism, any feedback positive or negative is welcome since I am interested in what other people think of my writing style and what I can improve on. Since it's growing generically I'll be interested in your thoughts and speculations on future events and any suggestions moving forward will be taken into consideration. Hope you enjoy my stuff. - SeV

This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father.
