Once when The King Akbar

Was eating a dish of brinjal,

He said, "Wow, how tasty

Is The King of the Vegetable.

Birbal agreed, "Yes Indeed,

Its taste is actually divine,

I would love to have brinjal

In my plates whenever I dine."

After some time Akbar again

Had brinjal on his plate,

"Why do they cook this tasteless thing?

I would love to ban it in my state."

Birbal agreed, "Yes indeed,

This vegetable has no delight,

It seems I will die of hunger

But won't eat it in the day or night."

Akbar astonished to hear the response

Questioned Birbal about it,

"You can't be so hypocrite Birbal,

With us, you should not sit."

"Your Majesty, I beg your pardon

But I'm the servant of The Akbar King

So why should I show my loyally

To Vegetable's King, you must think."

"That's why I will agree with

Whatever my King says,

No wonder how your taste changes

With the hours of the days."

Akbar was obliged to see

Birbal's loyalty to his King,

And thought that the vegetables

Should be loyal to that tastless thing.

So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'

Proved himself the smartest of all,

And with his great skills, he won

The hearts of the crowd in the hall.
