After Spanish, I had English

I sit in English for what feels like hours until I raise my hand and walk out. I needed something from my locker and I honestly didn't want to be sat in that boring class.

I walk up to my locker but before I can open it, I'm spun around and I come face to face with

CHASE

"Well hello again" he says with a smirk

"C- Chase" I stutter his name out of my mouth

"I heard you got my note" he sounds proud

"Yeah" I quietly respond

"It wasn't cool sending your brothers gang and all" he says while looking into my eyes

"I didn't send them I swear—"

"Now You owe me" he cuts me off

"W- What?" I stutter

He smirks at me, his breath feels like poison against my skin. His lips connect to mine. my hands push at his chest, trying to get him off me but he's to strong and instead he pushes his body against mine. I have no where to go! I feel the tears fall down my face as his lips move down to my neck

"Get off me!" I scream.

He ignores

"Please" I beg

He ignores

"Get off me chase!" I shout

My fingers are pushing at his chest but it's still not working. Just as he is about to pick me up—

"HEY! GET OFF HER" Zed Yells.

Zed Rips Chase off of me and I gasp for air as my knees hit the ground, my hands reach my neck and I feel myself going light headed.

Zed hits Chase but Chase hits harder, but then..

Everything goes dark

I walk along the school hallways, trying to avoid class. In all honesty, I hate this place! But I enjoy English and Art. Those are probably the only 2 classes I go too.

But as I was walking past the gym, I hear screaming. I take off running, trying to follow the sound of the girls voice. It sounded oddly familiar. When I reach the girl I recognise her straight away

Maddie!

I run over and Rip Chase off her. I hit him once but he's definitely stronger than me, he hits me and I stumble back a step. Then I see Maddie pass out, her knees give in and her entire body collapses

"Maddie!" I yell.

"Maybe next time you'll take my warning as a hint" Chase Whispers smugly Into my ear before walking away

I run over to Maddie's limp body. I scoop her into my arms with her head limply resting against my arm, her legs resting over my other arm. I look around to see if anyone's watching but luckily everyone's in class.

I carefully run out of the school building, making sure no one sees us.

My eyes feel heavy as I slightly open them to a blinding light

"What's... going on?" I softly say as I attempt to sit up

"You fainted" Zed says, he's sitting on the side of me with his body facing off the bed and his feet touching the floor, his head hanging low as he looks at the floor.

I sit my self up, slouched up against the head board of the bed

"D- did Chase—"

"Don't worry, I stopped him before it went any further" Zed says with worry in his voice

"How did I faint?" I question

"Probably from the shock of it all" he shrugs

My mind wanders to the thought of how my brother is going to react to this, does he even know what happened? Did Zed tell him? Does he know I'm home?

"Does my brother know?" I sound ashamed

"No, but I told him I took you home because you weren't feeling well. I just got off the phone with him" he admits

"Oh, can we maybe not tell him?" I ask

"Not tell him? Are you insane! Chase is like one of his worst enemies, If I don't tell him—"

"Please" I cut him off

He looks into my eyes and then down at the floor again as he moves towards the door

"Fine" he sighs "get some rest and don't come downstairs, you need to be okay" he says before leaving my room.

Relief spreads across my face as the door closes. I know I'm going to have to get out of bed at some point. But just as I was about to move, my phone rings.

I decide to look at the contact name:

Brother🙄

I press the answer button and I hold the phone to my ear

"Hello?" I say with a tired voice

"Are you okay?" He sounds worried

"Yeah, I'm fine" I reply

"What happened"

"I wasn't feeling well" I lie

"So you just fainted?" He doesn't sound convinced

"Yeah" I try to hide my lie. "Sorry to worry you"

"I'm just glad your okay" his words make me smile

"I'll see you later" I try to finish our conversation

"Yeah, get some rest" he says before I end the call

I sit my phone back down on the bed side table. Now that I realise it, how did Max get my number? And how was the contact in my phone?

I push my thought to the side and I leap out of bed. I manage to steady myself before heading downstairs.

When I get to the bottom of the stairs, the house lays silent. It's weird, I don't think I've heard it this quiet. I walk into the living room but Zed isn't there, he isn't in the kitchen ether.

"ZED?" I call out

I have no answer. Instead I feel a breath against the back of my head. I turn around and Zed is standing behind me, I jump a little before swatting his arm

"You scared me!"

"I told you to stay in bed" he sounds annoyed

"I feel okay now" I answer back as he crosses his arms and glares at me

"Why can't you just listen to me!"

I don't answer him, I haven't got an answer. But before he can open his mouth again, the door opens

The boys are home

"Hey Maddie, how you feeling?" Liam ask's as he enters through the door

"I'm okay now" I respond

"We heard you fainted" Zack question

"Yeah" I say, not realising that nor me or Zed have moved from our positions

"What's going on?" Max ask's, looking between me and Zed

"She's being stubborn again" Zed says with his eyes rolling and then stepping away from me

"You both need to learn to get along" Payton Demands

"You do live together after all" Cole chuckles

"I made sure she was okay! Isn't that good enough?" Zed sounds even more annoyed now

"Thanks for that, man" Max admits, patting his hand on Zed's right shoulder

"I'm going to my room" Zed claims.

Zed walks up the stairs but takes a quick glance at me one more time before fully making his way upstairs and disappearing into the upstairs hallway

I turn to look at Max, who is now blankly staring at me. Now that I notice, all the boys are staring at me

"WHAT THE HELL MADDIE!" Max shouts

"Who gave you those?" Payton snaps

I think Zed heard because he came running back to the stair balcony at the top

"What happened?" Zed ask's

"Maddie has hickeys!" Max answers

Oh no

"Answer us" Zack sounds just as demanding as everyone else

"I- I urrmm" I can't find the words

"She was making out with some guy before class" Zed blurts out. My head snaps up at him and my eyes narrow

"What guy?" Liam ask's

"I don't know his name" I lie as I turn to look at the other boys. "I was bored"

When I look back up at the balcony of the stairs, Zed's gone. All the other boys are staring at my neck and it's really annoying me

"Can you not stare! Jeez, I'm going to my room" I say with an attitude

I drag my weak body up to my room again, slamming the door behind me.

They all act like over protective brothers!
