Isabella's POV

I am staring at the computer wondering what my next story should be about. My deadline was this Thursday; and it had to be at least four pages long. I couldn't figure out what to write, so I went outside to get some fresh air.

The air was soft as I walked into the night with my hands dangling at my side. Looking up to see the starry night sky, my mind is super relaxed and at peace. As I notice one of my favorite constellations, Perseus, my eyes catch some of the stars blinking out like something was blocking them from my sight. That's when I saw the beam of light.

The next thing I know, I'm being wheeled down a darkly lit hallway. I can't move any of my limbs and I can't speak. A man, that looked much like a doctor, sees that I am awake and then all of a sudden, everything went dark.

It's like I was in a sleep state where I was completely numb and nothing could reach me. I stay in this inky blackness until I am pulled back out. While I am pulled out from the inky blackness, that was my prison, I look down my body and notice small tubes protruding from my body. some were connected to my arms, legs, and on the side of my neck. I am only able to lift my head up from the cold, hard surface that I was laying on.

I have so many questions but I don't speak because I see one of the " doctors" tapping against what looks like a fancy computer and writes something down on paper. I stare at him wondering if my eyes are deceiving me.

The body of the man was lumpy and was completely covered in sweat. He smelled like hot liquid garbage that had been sprayed by a skunk. The doctor, that I had seen bringing me in, was dressed in a weird metallic robe that came down to what was supposed to be his knees.

He spoke in a language that I didn't understand. Was it Chinese? Russian? Arabic? Either way, I didn't understand him. I don't know who he was talking to either. No one is in the room besides him and I. Was he talking to himself? No, he had to be talking to someone. Maybe he was wearing an earpiece. I didn't get a chance to find out because I got pulled back down to my mental prison.

It actually wasn't so bad this time. Instead of me being surrounded by blackness and the depressing feeling of being alone, I had a terrifying dream.
