《can you love me most ✓》Epilogue

"Come on, Gia. You got this... just a little more." I'm exhausted. I've been in labor for almost twelve hours now. Everything hurts.
"We can already see the head Mrs. Romano. Just a few more pushes." My midwife tells me. Keenan is standing next to me, whispering into my ear that I'm doing great and that I can do it while I squeeze his hand so hard I'm surprised it's not broken yet.
I fiddle with his wedding ring that is on his finger and then squeeze again while another contraction follows. "Come on, mi amor. We'll have our baby in our hands soon, yeah?"
And that was what gave me my last energy. We're going to have out baby in our hands in only a matter of minutes. "Just a little bit more. You got this." He tells me, kisses my head as I give one last hard push and then suddenly my screams are combined with a second one.
"Oh, it's a boy!" My midwife tells us as she pulls him completely out of me. I watch everything she does. She holds him up while his little naked body is still curled up a little from his position in my womb.
Everything is so much right now. We didn't know the gender of our baby during my pregnancy. We have a son. "He's beautiful, baby. You did so amazing."
Keenan holds me tight and cries along with me as we look at our baby. He has a little towel wrapped around him and they finally put him on my chest so we can look at him.
"Hi. Hi baby..." I am speechless. Too overwhelmed with my emotions in this moment. He is the most beautiful new born I have ever seen. The perfect mix of me and his father.

I take a short look over at Keenan, and see that he has his elbows on his thighs and has his face hidden behind his palms. He's sobbing. So I lightly touch one of his wrists and make him look at me as I give him a weak smile.
"Do you want to hold him?" I ask him and get ready to hand him over to Keen. My husband takes his son in his arms, sits back down on the chair and starts to cry even more. So I do the same thing again. Grab his cheeks and make him look at me. "Hey...."
Keenan looks down, puts his thumb and his pointer finger in front of his eyes to maybe stop crying. "I'm just so glad you two are safe..." he says.
This must be so hard for him. I noticed him driving very carefully when my water broke. He was very tense as soon as he got into the car. "We are. You see? We're both perfectly fine..." And then he finally looks down at our child, smiles down at him, grabs his little hand and lets him wrap it around Keenan's finger. "You are."
We have everything we ever wanted.
We finally have a family. A baby.
Our little Alessandro Diego Romano.
As I look at my two boys I remember the say I found out. That was eight months ago. Keenan proposed to me in may last year. We got married only one month after that.
It was a small wedding. Just our closest family. Then, in july I found out...
____
I look down at the little test where at first only one line was visible. Keenan and I sat on our bed while the test was positioned on his nightstand, both of us deciding to not look at it anymore until the ten minutes are over.

His alarm goes off after the ten minutes, so he grabs my waist and watches me as I pick up the test. I first didn't see it.
I thought it was negative. So did he. "It's okay. We have plenty of time, Gia." He says but just as I was about to put the test away, I saw a pale line...
"Keenan.." there was a line. "Keenan, there's a line." He has already gotten up but is next to me in only a matter of seconds and takes the test out of my hands.
I grab his shoulders and shake him lightly, crying from my emotions that are absolutely overwhelming me right now. "I'm pregnant. You see that? I'm pregnant Keen, I'm-"
"You're pregnant." He says. His eyes are fixed on the little thing in his hands before he turns to me, tears making their way in both of our eyes. "You're pregnant!"
The next thing he did was pull me on his lap and squeezed me. "God I love you."

And now he's here.

Our baby is here...

It's the next day. Little baby sleeps just as deep as his father does. Keenan slept in the hospital with us but told me he would have to do some things today and he would be back in the evening.
I missed him to death and couldn't wait until he finally came back. "Well look who's here." I say, smiling while I wipe Alessandro's mouth from just breastfeeding him.
"Hey." Keenan puts a kiss on my lips, takes off his shirt and grabs our son. He does that shirtless thing because my dad told him to do this because apparently cuddling shirtless is way more emotional.
He puts his little head on his shoulder, and pats his butt and back lightly so he can burp. And as he turns around, I almost choke from shock. "What is that on your back?" I ask him.
Keenan gets closer to me and looks down at me so I can't see the spot I was talking about so I grabbed his waist, pushed it a little for him to turn around and clasped my hands in front of my mouth when I saw it.
"Are you out of your mind?" He has a tattoo. It's my wedding vows in my handwriting... "See how addicted I am to you..." he says, smirks over his shoulder before he turns around, leans down and kisses me again.
"You're crazy." I tell him inbetween kisses. "I'm crazy about you, Mrs. Romano."
And as soon as we got out of the hospital that day, we got to start our life as a family...

8 639The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
