《Entangled: Playfully》Chapter-46

"Eloise, Look right, yea, tilt your head up, eyes on the camera...yea like that and perfect."
I did what I was asked to do. The camera was focused on my eyes as it was an eyeliner brand I was posing for.
"It's a plus point that you're beaming, Eloise. It's showing in your eyes." Photographer commented.
I was beaming? Yes, I was. Why wouldn't I be?
After three long, busy, and torturous weeks, it was finally the last day of my work before I take the break. I wanted those three weeks to pass by quickly but they didn't. I had been totally busy with wedding preparations and completing my work commitments. For the wedding gown, I asked my designer friend to design a unique one for me. Everything was arranged from the venue to decoration, dress, cake, invitations everything. It was just me who everyone was waiting to set free.
Honestly, I had no time for myself but Daniel made sure that we always had private time for ourselves to relax amidst our bustling schedule.
And I was impatiently waiting for the shoot to end so I could wrap up the stress of work and enjoy the bliss of a new phase of my life.
"And that's the last shot and it's done."
As soon as I heard those words I looked at Daniel who was here to be with me on my last day at work and I found him engaged in conversation with the photographer's female assistant. He didn't even look at me. I narrowed my eyes in his direction before jumping off from in front of the camera and went into the green room to change.
After I was done with changing Trish and Evan came in the green room.
"So, it's finally over," Evan mumbled.
"Yeah." I sighed, not looking at any of them. Though I was ecstatic for the new start, I would miss these two a lot. They have been a special part of my life. It was painful for me to leave them.
Evan sensed my sadness and enveloped me in a tight hug. "It's okay, Eloise. We may not be working together from now on but we are friends for life." He whispered. I nodded my head, blinking back my tears.
Evan let go of me and Trish snaked her arms around me. "Don't be sad, El, or I'll cry." She mumbled. I heard the pain in her voice.
She moved away and wiped the corner of her eyes and wore a big smile. "There's no need to be sad. It's the start of our new lives so let's bid farewell to our past and embrace the new with smiling faces. So..."
She then stood straight and gave a salute. "I, Trish officially signs off as your personal makeup artist."
"And I, Evan officially signs off as your manager and log in as a new manager for my girlfriend."
I laughed out loud and hugged both of them. "I'll miss this. I will miss working with you."
"Same." They both mumbled and stepped away.
"I can't wait to see you in a wedding gown." Trish clapped her hands.
"Well, you will in two days." I chuckled.
"I've always wanted to attend your wedding and now I know that it's in two days I can't help but feel strange and excited at the same time." She said.
"I feel the same, Trish. The butterflies in my stomach won't stop flying," I pouted.
Trish and Evan laughed and Evan ruffled my hair. They both hugged me again and then went out to talk to others and Daniel chose the moment to come in.

"Done talking to her?" I raised an eyebrow, crossing my arms.
"Who? Oh, yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Hey, don't be jealous. I was just uh, telling her how much I love my soon to be wife."
"Oh, yeah? Didn't seem so." I narrowed my eyes.
"Because you always wear glasses of jealousy whenever I'm around another female. And just to tell you, I love this side of you." He smirked as he pulled me towards him by my waist. "I love making you jealous just to see you get grumpy." He flicked my nose.
"What if I try to make you jealous?" I questioned, grabbing both his collars.
"You've tried it before and you very well know where it leads us to." He bit my ear and whispered seductively. "In our bed."
"Now, let's get going before you decide to take me to bed. After all, these days you are too much turned on." He exclaimed as he let go of me and stepped away. I stared at him, stunned, my mouth hung low.
"I don't have any intention to take you to bed and I'm not—" I argued.
"Eloi, no need to argue. I know you better than you do. So, believe me when I say: you are dying to rip my clothes apart and pounce me."
"You did not just say that!" I shrieked and picking up a hairbrush from the dresser I threw it at him.
"Ow, Eloi, don't start violence or I'll shout. What will people outside think we are doing?" He laughed, picking up the brush from the floor.
"Want to shout? Then let me give you the reason to shout." I took another hairbrush in my hand and charged towards him.
But before I could hit him with the brush I felt dizzy. I grabbed a chair with my hand to maintain the balance.
"Hey, what happened?" Daniel inquired as he helped me sit on the chair and crouched down in front of me.
"I feel nauseated. I don't know what's happening to me. I felt the same way in the morning too."
"Why didn't you tell me? I'm taking you to a doctor now. Get up." He stood up.
"Daniel, it's just stress."
"What if it's not? I can't risk anything. We're visiting a doctor, end of discussion."
There was no chance I could win from Daniel in this so I gave in without arguing and after bidding our goodbyes to everyone at the studio we left for the hospital. Daniel snaked his arm around my waist and led me to the doctor's room.
"Hello, doctor Jenna." Daniel greeted the lady doctor who seemed to be in her late forties.
"Hello, Daniel." She smiled.
"Please check on my Fiancée, she is feeling nauseated lately."
"Oh, okay, please lay down on the bed." She said to me very politely, gesturing towards the bed at the side of the wall.
"Let me help you," Daniel said as he grabbed my wrist and bent down to lift me up.
"Daniel, no. I can do it myself." I whisper-yelled, embarrassed as the doctor was looking at us. Ignoring my warning he lifted me up and deposited me on the bed.
"Thank you for help Daniel but now you need to wait outside." The doctor said to him.
"What? Why? I'm her fiancé." He frowned.
"Daniel, leave." I narrowed my eyes at him. He wanted to argue but I gave a warning look which made him step back.

"Okay, fine." He sighed and went out.
"Sorry about him, Doctor." I apologized.
"Don't worry about that. I know he's smitten by you. I saw the proposal on the TV." She chuckled.
I chuckled nervously, the blush spreading on my face. Doctor Jenna asked me to lay down on the bed which I did. She then checked me.
"Before I conclude anything, I want you to answer my question, Eloise." She said. I slowly nodded my head.
"Are you late?" She asked. I first frowned and looked at her in confusion. She gave me a knowing look and them my turned wide.
Yes, I surely missed my period. I was too busy to think about my missed period but now as I thought about it, I gulped the saliva that formed in my mouth.
"Y..yes." I had no idea why I stuttered. Maybe because I knew what the doctor was going to confirm?
"Thought so." She then gave me a pregnancy test kit. "You need to do the test right now. It's the fastest way to confirm. I'm also taking your blood sample to perform the test."
After she took the blood sample, I took the strip with trembling hands and went into the bathroom. I waited for a few minutes and gasped when it confirmed positive.
I had mixed feeling about the situation. I was elated but at the same time, I was worried. How will Daniel take the news? Will he be happy? I had so many questions running in my mind and the reason was... I and Daniel never discussed it till now.
I went out and asked the doctor. "Are these kits accurate?"
"I figure it's positive. Well, 99% yes. And for further confirmation, I've sent your blood sample for testing. It'll take an hour or so to give the result. You have to wait."
"I'll wait for the blood results. I don't want to take any chance. And please don't tell this to Daniel until the results arrive." I said.
"Okay. Let me call your impatient fiancé inside."
Doctor Jenna called Daniel inside who came in rushing. "Is everything okay?" He asked me but I couldn't answer so he asked the doctor. "What happened to her?"
"She is fine. I've sent her blood sample for testing to confirm something. You have to wait for a little." She said to him.
After waiting for a while in the waiting room the doctor came into the room with test results.
"What does it say?" Daniel asked, standing up from the couch. I didn't stand up and had my fingers crossed on my lap. I was anxious.
"Well, congratulations, Eloise. You're three weeks pregnant."
My fingers uncrossed on their own and my heartbeat raised. The blood test too confirmed it. I didn't know what to do. Smile or cry? Jump in excitement or remain seated?
"P..pregnant?"
I glanced at Daniel's stiff body that was facing the doctor. A strange, unknown feeling surged inside me raising more questions. Why was he stiff? There was no excitement in his voice. Didn't he want this?
"Yes, she is. Congratulations. And please head to my room to discuss further." She smiled warmly, looking at us, and then left, leaving us alone in the waiting room.
"You are pregnant." He muttered, facing me.
My heart dropped when I still didn't hear the excitement in his voice. I bit my trembling lower lip in order to stop myself from crying.
Suddenly, he jumped and screamed: "God, Eloise, we are going to be parents. Yes!"
I got surprised.
He bent on his knees in front of me and placed his hands on my thighs. "God, Eloise, I'm so, so, so happy."
And that's when my tears dropped.
"Hey, why are you crying? This is a happy moment for us." He cupped my face, looking at me, smiling ear to ear. All of a sudden his smile vanished and a frown made it's way to his eyebrows.
"Eloise, you don't seem excited. Don't you want—"
I covered his lips with my palm, stopping him saying further. "Don't say this. I'm feeling like I'm on the top of the world right now. I too am excited. It's just... This came all of a sudden and I couldn't think straight and I almost panicked. I'm so sorry."
"Don't be sorry, Eloise. I understand. You've been in so much stress lately, working 24/7 to set yourself free. It's okay."
I snaked my arms around him and nuzzled my face in his neck. "We're going to be parents." I laughed with teary eyes.
"A mini 'us' is going to arrive soon." He chuckled, kissing my hair. I then distanced myself, sitting straight on the couch.
"I'm super excited to hold our baby in my arms." He said, looking at his hands. This time he had tears in his eyes. "I can't wait, Eloi."
"Me too."
"You just gave me the best wedding gift in the world, Eloise." He held my hands. "I can't wait to tell this to my parents. They'll be elated to hear this." He said.
"Well, they are watching us and they are the first one to know. They must be dancing up there." I said while looking up at the ceiling imaging it to be the sky.
He chuckled. "Yeah, they must be."
He cupped my face and kissed me passionately. "Thank you for this." He mumbled.
"Uh, Eloise, do you want to postpone our wedding." He was hesitant. "I mean...it's fine if you want to marry after the childbirth. I understand."
"No, Daniel, I don't want to postpone our wedding. I can't wait for us to get married. I'll go mad if we don't tie the knot soon. I've been waiting for this day and have been preparing like a desperate woman, I won't be able to handle the delay." I rambled.
"Hey, take a deep breath, Eloi." He laughed. "I too don't want to postpone. I said that for you but now that I know you're excited as I am, I can't wait to be your husband."
"I love you." I smiled.
"And I love you both but I'm a bit sad that I would have to share you with our little one." He pouted.
I laughed. "Well, you still have a few months before you share me with our baby."
"And I'm going to make the most out of it."
My eyes lingered at his face, lovingly. The mere news of the baby strengthened our bond. I wondered what will happen when the baby will grace the world?
Well, I already knew the answer. Our love will become more strong and meaningful.
