"You got some chalk dust on your cheek." Azia pointed out.

"Oh here?" I began to carefully wipe my cheek with a wipe,

"Is it gone?" I asked,

"No, you've just smudged it across the side of your face now!" Azia threw her head back in laughter,

"Ugh fuck, can you stop laughing." I kept wiping until I felt my face sting,

"Goodness gracious, let me do it." Azia took the wipe from my hand, producing gentle strokes on my cheek to get rid of that stubborn chalk.

Her perfume rushed into my nose, making me feel completely intoxicated with her sweet aroma. She was extremely concentrated, but still snuck in glances while also asking if she was pressing too hard.

"Cool, all gone." Azia tossed the soiled wipe aside then examined my face again. Her hand still on my cheek.

"What? Is there chalk on my face too?" She smirked,

"No no, just...you look good, FINE! YOU LOOK FINE." I panicked.

"You look fine too." She responded.

The air around was thick, you could cut the tension with a knife. Neither of us wanted to speak.

"Uh I was wondering if-" I opened my mouth to speak before I was rudely interrupted by a squeaky voice and a girl running into the garage.

"AZIA! There you are sweetheart!" The girl hugged Azia from behind and kissed her.

"Oh I wasn't aware you had company, what's your name sorry?" She asked in a demeaning tone,

"Eleena."

"I don't think we've met before. Well I'm Chloe, Azia's girlfriend." Chloe sat on Azia's lap whilst staring daggers into my eyes.

"Girlfriend?" I asked disappointed,

"Yeah, it's been like 2 weeks now or something." Azia answered.

"Oh...happy for you guys." I forced a grin, gathering my paintbrushes and bag.

"I have to go, good work today Zia."

"I'll see you later, nice meeting you Chloe." Eleena stammered before leaving. Her face was seemed so distraught, her eyes looked like she was disappointed some how.

"Who is that girl?" Chloe cupped my face to make me face her.

"The girl I'm tutoring and art partner for the project," I answered,

"I see. She won't be a distraction will she?"

"No."

"Good, now can we get food, I'm starving."

Chloe pulled me into the direction of the kitchen, yapping about the day she's had.

"Do i have to go?" Chloe pouted and bore deep into my exhausted gaze.

"Yes. It's a school night, I'll see you tomorrow." I said coldly,

"Fine. Pick me up at 8." Chloe stomped out angrily while I stood there completely numb.

"Oh? Did that girl leave?" My mother popped her head out from the living room,

"Yeah."

"Okay good, I don't like her." She cackled and went back to watching her programme.

I scowled at her comment,

"She's my girlfriend Ma." I mumbled,

"When's Eleena's coming again, I like her." She exclaimed.

"I don't know. I'm going to bed, night Ma." I trudged up the stairs into the mess of my bedroom. I took off my paint overalls and t-shirt before hopping into the shower.

The cool water calmed my senses, bringing me back to reality. Why did she look so sad? She couldn't be mad maybe? At me? I'm overthinking. Stepping out the shower carefully, I changed into my shorts and vest then hopped into bed. Should I text her? Nah... Fuck, I'll ask Cerelia.

Scrolling through my contacts, I tapped on her name then pressed the phone to my ear. The dialling tone echoed for few seconds before I finally got an answer.

"Hello...?" She panted,

"Yo Cerelia, I need help." I whined,

"Oh, with what."

"Promise you won't get gassed though."

"Now I'm interested," I could picture the smug look on her face as she mentioned that.

"I SAÏD PROMISE?!"

"Alright god, now it's about Eleena right?"

"How the fuck did you know?"

"Come on Zia, I've been your best friend since birth, plus she's all you ever talk about."

"Not true, I talk about Chloe a lot too."

"Well fuck Chloé innit. . Once you like someone to that extent, they're all that's on your mind."

Cerelia's words hit me like a ton of bricks. I dont love Eleena, hell I don't even like her at all.

"I have to go," I replied finally,

"Oh no. Don't run away from this Azia Mendoza."

"Bye."

"Azia don't you dar-." The line cut, leaving the room in complete silence.

"Fuck sake." I exclaimed, burying my head into my minecraft bee plushie whilst staring at the floral tapestry on my ceiling. I fucking hate Eleena Delà Cruz.
