"Sanjana,"
"Hmm,"
"Sanjana, wake up," Rohan's voice greeted my ears.
"Five more minutes please,"
"You're drooling over the file Sanjana," Rohan said.
My head immediately shot up and I blinked as I noticed the wetness on my hand. Definitely drooling. I searched the file was drool bit luckily didn't find any. I wiped a hand over my mouth and rubbed my eyes before focusing on Rohan who was sitting on the bed as he read a book.
"Good morning," he said in a clipped tone and I frowned.
"Urmm... Good morning," I mumbled as I scratched my head.
"Sanjana, this is third time I'm waking you up in the morning to find you not in the bed but on the study table, stop working so late at nights," he scolded me.
"I couldn't sleep," I said as I got up and stretched my sore limbs.
"Why?"
"I just couldn't Rohan, stop interrogating me in the morning itself," I said before yawning and then headed for a shower.
Once I had showered off my sleep, I quickly changed into something comfortable and went for breakfast.
I ate the toast and drank my strong coffee in silence because I was the only one who hadn't had breakfast.
"Sanjana,"
"What?"
"Would you and mom go shopping today, Monica needed some clothes," Sunil asked as he stood next to Monica.
"Yeah sure," I nodded as I focused on my coffee which wasn't strong enough to keep my sleep at bay.
"Or we guys can go tomorrow, Sanjana why don't you sleep today okay? I guess you could use some sleep yeah?" Mom said as she walked inside.
"Yeah thank you," I mumbled as I quickly put the vessels in the wash basin and walked to the bedroom.
I ignored Rohan and I snuggled into the bed and soon enough I dozed off.

When I woke up in the evening, it was raining and that made it difficult for me to get out of the bed but I still sat up and stretched my arms.
"Sanjana, chalo let's go eat dinner,"
"Dinner? Did I sleep so much that I missed lunch?"
"Yes you did Sanjana," he sighed.
"No wonder I'm hungry," I grinned sheepishly.
I got down and then wheeled Rohan to the dining room where mom and dad were chattering about something.
"But you know she doesn't like me," mom complained.
"But honey I can't say no to her,"
"And she's gonna say something to these both also,"
"But--"
"Fine do whatever you want but if she says anything wrong that'll be the end of my politeness towards her," mom said as she glared at her plate.
"What happened? And why is mom so pissed?" Rohan asked.
"Your Dadi is going to come to live with us in a few months," mom hissed.
"And she's apparently a villain," I guessed.
"Oh trust me she's worse than that, her snide remarks and her overbearing nosy nature," mom said.
"I'm sorry honey," dad said as he put an arm around her.
"You don't even have to be sorry for what she's done," mom said and then got up, dad followed her.
"Now I'm scared," I muttered as I took a bite of roti and sabzi.
"She'll come during Diwali, it's a long time, it's only July now," Rohan said.
"She'll hate me for sure," Monica signed.
"Doesn't matter if she hates you or loves you, we guys love you and that's the end of conversation," I said.
°
"Hey, let me also help you with the file," Rohan said from the bed.
"You need to rest Rohan,"
"Aur kitna rest? I'm tired of resting so much and it's not like I'm going to move right? Why don't you shift your files on the bed, we both can work on it okay?"

"Yeah sure," I mumbled as I took the files and the loose papers and spread them on the bed.
"Oh, I didn't realise I was working on three files, hehe," he said and I rolled my eyes.
However that was when he started his commentary on my way of working.
"I've never seen a more unorganized person than you,"
"Even though I like how you present, can you improve your handwriting a little bit?"
"Sanjana, I'm tired why does you w look like m?"
"Sanjana--"
"Shut up!" I snapped at him.
"Urmm..."
"I've never seen a bigger whiner than you, have you seen your handwriting Rohan?" I asked as I shoved a paper in which his hideous handwriting was visible.
"Oh yeah," he mumbled.
"I swear your complaints have taken my mind off this file,"
"Oh anyways it 2, let's stop working for now," he said as he started organising the the files and placed them on the bedside table.
"I don't think I can sleep now that I slept so much in the afternoon,"
"Me too,"
We sat there in comfortable silence, my head against the headboard as my eyes remained close while Rohan sat with his body angled in my direction.
"How about 20 questions?" He asked.
"Ah the ever so clichéd questions,"
"What? I don't even know what your favourite colour is, or your favourite movie or cuisine or sport, I don't know anything,"
"Navy, I don't have a favourite movie, Indian and basketball, there now you know," I said.
"Okay, well mine is black, I don't watch movies anyways so I don't have one, my favourite cuisine is indo-chinese and my favourite sport is nothing actually, I can play all but I don't like any," he said.
"There now we know each other and black is not a colour, it's a shade but I'm going to let it slide for you,"
"Can I ask you one question though? Only one,"
"Yeah,"
"Will you ever fully trust me?"
My eyes widened at his question and at the sincerity in his voice, I opened my mouth and closed it a few times because I didn't know how to answer him.
"A big question?" Rohan asked when I didn't answer.
"It's ok, don't answer, I'm stupid to have asked this question--"
"N-no, it's not that I didn't answer because I didn't know the answer, I knew the answer but it just shocked me that you asked such a question, but to answer your question, I think I will, some day I know I will fully trust you and trust me when I say this, I am actually looking forward to that time as well," I said with a small smile as I looked at him.
"Then why are you uncomfortable about sharing a bed with me?" He asked.
Of course he had to address the elephant in the room.
"I--"
"Because Sanjana trust me even you know that I would never do anything and yet you don't let yourself trust me,"
"I'm trying, I swear I'm trying," I mumbled as I focused on my lap.
"Hey, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that I know you're trying and it might seem like I'm pressurising you,"
"No you're not Rohan and I know you would never do anything without my consent and that one of the thing I like about you, give me a little more time,"
"As long as you want Sanjana," he smiled.
