《Lawfully Wedded》Chapter 7

"Mom! I'm going to be late," I said and my dad laughed at me.
"Shh I don't want any buri nazar on you, you're going to be married soon, so bear with me for some more time," mom said as she did something.
"Mom!" I whined.
"Shh baccha," mom said as she finished doing whatever she was doing and leaned down to kiss my forehead.
"All done, now go,"
"Finally, I just hope I'm not fired for being extremely late," I said as I rushed out and drove to the office as fast as I could.
"Fucking hell," I cursed as I fervently pressed the elevator.
"Doors opening,"
"Fucking finally, slow poke!" I hissed at the elevator and leaned against the lift.
"Doors closing,"
"Door opening," and as soon as those words were uttered by the robotic voice, I rushed out.
"Oh fuck I'm late--Ah!" I cried out when I lost my footing because of something slippery and my ankle, clad in 3 inch heels, twisted and I fell straight to the ground.
Tears welled in my eyes at the searing pain that shot in my ankle and more so at the embarrassment.
"What the fuck!" I cursed out loud not caring that I was at my workplace. I heard footsteps approached and I looked up from my misery to find Rohan and Sunil staring at me.
"What the fuck? Why didn't anyone clean this water here?!" Rohan shouted as he walked closer to me.
"Do you think you can stand?" He asked me softly as Sunil continued yelling at some of the people.
"Yeah," I said and he didn't look like he believed me but still watched me stand.
I did in fact that stand but the moment I put too much pressure on my injured ankle, I stumbled forward and crashed straight into Rohan's chest.
"Not too hard to admit you were hurt now was it?" Rohan said in my ear as he bent down a little and with his one arm around my waist and the other around my knee, he lifted me in his arms and started walking towards what I assumed was his office.

I was about to protest but he shushed me immediately. As we entered his office, he settled me down on the sofa.
"Now, before I do anything Sanjana, I want to tell you something," he said as he stared at me.
"Uh go ahead,"
"We are engaged and we are about to be married soon, but I just want you to know that I will never touch you without consent, I know it makes you uncomfortable but moments like these, I will have to so please trust me and don't get upset okay?"
Is this man real? How is he so understanding?
"Y-yeah," I stuttered, my heart was beating wildly as I stared at the man in front of me. It couldn't be, he couldn't possibly pretend to be so caring and understanding.
"Now, let me see your ankle to assess the damage okay?" He said and I nodded my head.
He eased my foot out of the heel and then he took my foot in his hand as he pressed lightly on the affected area.
The moment he pressed on the part where it hurt the most, I hissed loudly as tears welled in my eyes.
"I'm so sorry Sanjana, let me just get some relief spray and some pain killer," Rohan whispered and got up.
He gently sprayed the relied spray and offered me the medicine.
"Now as your boss and your fiancée, I would want you to take the rest of the day and week off, we're going to see a doctor now to properly assess the damage, I think it's just a sprain but there is no harm in being sure and I'm going to drive you home okay?"
"I can drive--"
"No you can't and you won't, I'll ask someone to drive your car home but for now I'm going to drive you home okay?"
"But--"
"Please Sanjana, it's not for you but for me, I wouldn't be at peace until I know you've reached home safely,"
"Okay," I said in a tiny voice and relaxed against the sofa only to realise that my clothes were wet too and I sat upright again. Rohan seemed to have notice my uncomfort because he sighed and grumbled something under his breath.

"I'm sorry I don't have a pair of change with me, so you'll have to manage I guess but I do have a hoodie will that work?"
"Yeah,"
He retrieved his hoodie from the drawer and then picked me up and walked inside the washroom and sat me down on a chair.
"Here, once you're done, call me I'll come and we'll immediately go see a doctor,"
"Okay," I said and watched as he closed the washroom door behind him.

"What happened? And why is she wearing that?" I heard a familiar voice.
I grunted and nestled closer to the warmth.
"She's sprained her ankle in the office, because there was water, her blouse was ruined and so I had to give my hoodie to her, she's sleeping because of the pain killer I guess," a voice, the person who was caring me said.
"Oh thank god, I was so scared for a second, you must be tired, give her to me I'll take her," a voice, my dad said.
"Lemme sleep," I said and tried to shift but found it difficult.
"Should I take her to her room? If you guys don't mind,"
I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation because I was already drifting into sleep.
The last thing I remember was being placed on a plushy bed, and a feature like caress on my forehead.
I don't think I was asleep for a long time because I heard the hooting, only one person in my family hooted like that and I had no choice but to wake up.
"Oh Sanju!" Sonia said and I rubbed my eyes as I sat up to find her walking in my room.
"What?" I cried.
"I heard something,"
"Wow really? How nice now can I go back to sleep," I muttered.
"You're wearing jiju's hoodie,"
"Hmm,"
"And he dropped you here,"
"Of course he dropped me here, I couldn't drive with my ankle injured,"
"You couldn't or he wouldn't let you?"
"Shut up," I hissed and then tried to stand up but fell in the bed immediately.
"He brought you here Di, in his arms oh my goodness was a swoony moment," Sonia said as she sat next to me.
"Are you done? Now please help me I want to eat something,"
"My my stop being so grumpy, jiju will come see you tomorrow," Sonia said before wrapping an arm under my shoulder and helping me up.
"Shut up with that non-sense,"
"Mmmm I believe the hoodie must be comfortable," she said as soon as dad came in the view.
"Dad! She's bullying me," I whined.
"Sonu, stop it, even if the hoodie is comfortable, she wouldn't obviously admit it," dad said.
"Dad!" I whined.
"Acha baba sorry," he said and then the both of them helped me to the dining table.
"I don't remember falling asleep," I said as mom served me food.
"He said it was the medicine,"
"Or maybe she just wanted to be in his arms," Sonia piped in and I glared at her.
"I won't deny it, you remember how when you offered she wined and complained about sleep and wrung her arms around him," mom said with a cheeky smile.
"Mom I swear to God,"
"Hush everyone, stop teasing my daughter," dad came to my rescue.
I just shook my head as I focused on eating Dal and rice.
"By the way, nice sweatshirt," dad commented with a cheeky smile and I couldn't help but smile even though I was so pissed at them.
"You guys I swear,"
