《Interspecies. (Alien Fanfic)》Chapter 5

Feeling a disturbance on my body, I opened my eyes slowly. I looked around at my surroundings. The walls, the ceiling, the floor all looked familiar. It was a tad bit dark, and I moved my hands around. I scrunched my nose as my fingertips came into contact with something sticky. I came to the conclusion that this was the same lubricant like saliva the Xenomorph's had. That's when everything came back to me, the images of a few hours prior returning.
The image of being in a monsters arms, having the monster carefully caress my body and move himself in and out of me. The thought should make me sick, but oddly... It didn't. It felt right, like everything I did was right. It was right in my heart. But as I looked around me, something did not feel right.
No.
He wasn't here.
Zerksis wasn't here. He wasn't here with me, just like he was when we both laid together. Furrowing my brows, I huffed.
I got ditched.
Why did this feel so familiar? Ah, it feels like a one night stand in my home and the guy leaves right after. I scrunched my nose, standing up and patting myself off. I tried to look presentable but I had to get out of here fast. I can't be out alone with the 'infestation'. I scoffed at the word, rolling my eyes. These people... Not knowing what they're truly dealing with.
Defying laws of nature.
But at the same time, I was just like them wasn't I? I was researching these creatures and studying them just like they were. Only difference was, I had sex with one of them and got ditched by him. It didn't make sense though, but it pissed me off. No, he couldn't have done it on purpose.
He didn't have human morals and ideals, it could've been anything. Maybe the Queen calling for him? The very idea of her made me shudder. She was in command of everything, and all of them. She could make him turn on me any second... But he couldn't possibly do that, right? I don't know... He was different. Whatever.
As I stepped out of the broom closet, I looked around to make sure everything was clear. I walked as quickly as I could to get out of here. I would return to Zerksis later, just not now. I had no idea where he was at the moment. My eyes moved around the hallway, and I noticed the lights were flickering in one section. This place has gone to shit since the fall. Turning a corner, I felt my face collide with a wall, but not really a wall. A man. I looked up, covering my nose as I hissed in pain.

But the man I was expecting wasn't there. It wasn't Sanchez, but his right hand guy, Sergeant Barnes. I breathed a sigh of relief, glad it wasn't some rogue Xenomorph or Sanchez.
"Just the lady I was lookin' for." He said, crouching down low and pulling me down with him.
"What are you doing here Barnes? I told Sanchez to fuck off." I replied, almost close to giving him the same treatment I gave Sanchez. All I had to was scream.
"Yeah, I saw the look on his face when he got back. He was a little pissed, but nah, I'm not here because of him. Got orders to retrieve you from Mr. Yutani." He nodded his head back in the direction he came from. I sighed, not really wanting to return, but what choice did I have? I looked up to him and met his striking blue eyes. He was quite handsome now that I took a good look at him. He had a bit of scruff on his jaw and had nice brown hair the came down a little past his jaw. I mentally slapped myself out of my thoughts, focus Helena!
I only nodded in his direction, and his hands framed around his gun. I gave him a dirty look and he only shook his head.
"Sorry, but I gotta do everything in my power to protect ya. That means shooting them if I have to, I'm sorry." He turned his back to me and starting walking in the direction that he came from. I sighed, looking at the floor. At least he wasn't like Sanchez right? He knew this was important to me and was sincere about his actions. What an uncommon occurrence for soldiers...
He stopped and I almost ran face first into him again, but he pushed me against the wall, looking around the corner from where he stood. The loud hissing of the Xenomorph's filled my ears.
"Shit..." I could hear Barnes curse and raise his gun at them. I panicked, pushing it down against the floor. When he turned his head to look at me, I could see the confusion in his face when I pointed at one of his explosives. Taking one of them, he explained to me that they are concussions and wouldn't do any serious damage.

"But that's the thing. I'm not looking for damage. I'm looking for a distraction," I grabbed it, pulling the trigger and throwing it into a distant room. I could see the panic in his face, it was almost laughable given the situation, really. But he got it once the Xenomorph's reacted violently to the sound and ran into the direction of it. The exact opposite of where we need to go. I watched his face fall into relief and he looked at me. He raised his gloved hand and I high fived him.
"You are a brilliant woman."
"Just assessing the situation, Barnes." I smiled and he grabbed my hand, pulling me away. Few meters ahead and we reached the safe zone. He ushered me in and closed the highly secured door behind us. I finally breathed for once, and came to the closest table and sat in a chair. Thinking of it now, I was a little thirsty. As I stood, right on cue, Barnes handled me a bottle of water. I nodded at him as a thank you, and he walked away.
Taking a long sip, I almost choked on my water when I saw Sanchez walk up with Mr. Yutani. He looked like shit... I almost had to hide my cocky smile at the sight of him. The cut right below his eye was bandaged, and as I looked at him, I realized that Zerksis could have blinded him if he wanted to. But he didn't.
"Ms. Sorenson... Good to see you back." Yutani nodded at me and sat next to me, and I began to grow more nervous.
"Good to be back Sir..." I replied quickly, my voice becoming a bit higher as I grew nervous.
"I see your test subject-"
"Zerksis." I corrected, and almost smacked myself for correcting him.
"My apologies... Zerksis, attacked Sanchez. Could you explain to me why?" He asked, and before I could speak, he interrupted me.
"'Cause it's a crazy fuckin' bug." He said, crossing his arms. I shot daggers his way but remained to have my attention on Yutani.
"That's simple sir... Zerksis was trying to protect me. He saw Sanchez as a threat to me and intervened. He could've easily killed Sanchez but he didn't. That's respectable and different from prior tests on the creatures... Sanchez was being aggressive and he simply acted on his instincts." I explained, pulling the bottle to my lips again.
"Simply acted is a bit of an understatement." Sanchez said, and Yutani put his hand up as to signal him to shut up.
"Well.. Yes true, The Xenomorph is special, but I am afraid there some news that I have come to discuss. See, while we appreciate that you did so for us, we've managed to retrieve DNA samples and a couple of Ovomorphs while you were gone." He crossed his legs, his palms cupping his knees.
"This means...?" I asked, my heart beginning to sink as I assumed what he was going to say.
"This means we really no longer need the services of you retrieving the Xenomorph. You will resume your work and research on the newborns when we have established a new area to work in." He stood up, dusting himself off and I almost grabbed him, biting my lip.
"Wait, Mr. Yutani! Please-"
"I am sorry Ms. Sorenson, but this is final. Rest up some, hmm?"
"No, Mr. Yutani, just let me finish this." I pleaded. I begged. We couldn't leave him.
"Helena. That is a final order, now please go and get some rest, that is an order." His voice was more stern, almost angry and I sighed in defeat. I balled my hands into fists and began to shake.
Say something.
Convince them.
Do anything!
I hesitated for a moment, closing my eyes and trying to kick myself in the ass as to convince me not to, and to just let this go.
I'm crazy, I'm so crazy.
"Mr. Yutani. I've had sex with the creature."
