《charlie - corbyn besson》chapter ten

"You what?" you stuttered, in disbelief that those words just came out of his mouth. Corbyn's face turned pink, but he maintained his composure despite his nerves. His hands were shaking slightly and he couldn't seem to find the right words to say next. "Y/N I'm in love with you. I have been for years, but I could never say it. You're the reason for my positivity, the reason I can be a father to Charlie, you're everything. And that is horrifying. I couldn't tell you and risk losing not only my favorite person in the world, but the other mother my daughter has ever known. I couldn't do that to her, especially now that I'm leaving. But I'm putting myself out there now and telling you all of this because if there's anyone I want to raise my daughter with, it's you." he gushed, his chest visibly heaving from his quick breathing. So many emotions were swirling through your head, you couldn't process what Corbyn was telling you. He wanted you. You took another step towards him, closing the gap between your chests. Without saying a word, you reached up and rested your hands on his cheeks. You could see him physically relax in response to your touch, a smile growing on his face. You mirrored his smile, unable to keep a straight face with him right in front of you. "I'm in love with you. I want you, and Charlie and whatever else this life has in store for us. I want it with you and I cannot believe it took you this long to say it." you said, poking fun at him with your last statement. Corbyn shook his head, the grin on his face still wide. You leaned in and softly kissed him, tasting the sugar from the french toast he made earlier. You felt his arms snake around your waist and pull you closer, not wanting the kiss to end. Eventually you had to pull away, but you didn't move from his grip. You brushed your nose against his, the both of you quietly laughing. "Let's go wake up our girl." he said and you felt what could only be described as pure love flowing through your veins. You turned around and started walking towards the stairs but were quickly pulled back by Corbyn's hand. He pulled you in, back to his chest, moving your hair to press a quick kiss to your neck. "I needed one more, now we can go." he said cheekily. You didn't mind at all, grabbing his hand and dragging him up the stairs to wake Charlie up for breakfast.

Being Corbyn's last full day at home, the three of you spent the day lounging around watching movies. Tomorrow night he'd be gone, across the country for the next three months and both his favorite girls would be at home without him. You were on your third Disney movie of the day when Corbyn decided it was time to talk to Charlie. He looked at you from the other end of the couch, Charlie sat in between the two of you. He glanced at you in a way that was asking for your approval, if now was the right time. You nodded and he grabbed the remote to pause the movie. "Okay princess, I wanna talk to you about something." he started and Charlie gave her full attention to Corbyn, staring up at him with her own version of his eyes. He smiled involuntarily, pulling her into his lap. "We've never really talked about this stuff before, but after your bad dream the other night I think we should." he said and she looked at you. "Am I in trouble for calling Y/N Mommy?" she asked quietly and you and Corbyn immediately shot it down. "No, no baby not at all. Actually, it's the opposite." you said, looking at Corbyn to explain it more. "I know it's probably been confusing, only having a Daddy and not a Mommy, but now Y/N and I are gonna be together all the time and she wants to be your mom." he said, holding his breath waiting for Charlie to say something. She looked at you with an expression you couldn't read; she was a five year old trying to comprehend the idea of having a whole new parent. "Charlie, I love you so very much and if it's okay with you, I'd love for you to call me Mommy all the time." you told her, moving closer to her and Corbyn. You sat there nervously waiting for her to do something, burst into tears, ask more questions—anything. Instead, she launched herself off of Corbyn's lap and hugged you. She wrapped her small arms around your neck and wouldn't let go. Corbyn's worried face turned into a huge smile and you felt tears watering in your eyes. Once she pulled away, she snuggled into your chest and you kissed her head over and over. "I love you too Mommy." she said and you chuckled, happy tears streaming down your cheeks. "Why are you crying?" she asked, putting her hands on your cheeks. You took one of her small hands in yours and kissed her palm, making her laugh. "Because I'm happy, baby. I'm really happy." Corbyn shifted over and hugged the two of you, kissing both of your temples. "I do have one last question though, for both of you." he said and you raised an eyebrow at him, you had no idea what he was talking about. "Why don't you come on tour with me?" he said, a hopeful spark in his eyes. Your jaw hung open, Charlie gasping at him. "Wait, really?" you asked, unsure of how he was able to make that work. "Yes, really. We have a lot more hotel stays on this leg of the tour so there'll be less time on the bus. I talked to Jon and the guys about it and it's all settled. If you say yes, we'll need to finish this movie later because you need to pack." he said and you composed yourself. "Should we do it?" you whispered to Charlie and she nodded furiously, jumping up and down on the couch. "Looks like we're going to Europe!" you said and Corbyn let out a 'yes!', leaning over and kissing you before kissing his daughter's forehead. You stood up from the couch, scooping Charlie up onto your hip. "Alright sweet pea, we have some packing to do!"

The next morning, the three of you sat in the kitchen and ate breakfast together. The living room was filled with suitcases and guitar cases, all packed and ready for the flight. "I'm so excited." you said, making yourself another plate of eggs. Corbyn winked at you, causing your cheeks to flush. In the middle of your happy family breakfast, the doorbell rang and Corbyn got up to get it. He came back in with a stack of mail, shuffling through the various bills and magazines. You watched him from the table and noticed him stiffen when he got to a particular envelope. He ripped it open aggressively and you stood up, walking over to him. "Speeding ticket?" you joked, but he wasn't laughing. You looked down at the piece of paper he unfolded and felt your heart drop. "Can she do this?" he asked, his voice cracking. "No. No way this is right." you said, taking the paper from his hands and scanning over it. "I have to call the guys." Corbyn stuttered, searching for his phone.

Steamforged Sorcery [A Steampunk LitRPG]
This is a fantasy story in a steampunk setting, not a sci-fi. The Great War ravaged the face of the earth many years ago. In the years that passed, the world rebuilt, mixing machinery and magic to form something new. Great blimps took to the sky, belching steam and smoke as metal cities sprouted like weeds below. Angel, a talented mage, scours the desert endlessly in search of lost knowledge. When it unexpectedly falls into his hands, he quickly comes to realize that the world is far larger – and far more deadly – than he ever could have predicted. But no amount of danger is going to keep Angel from seeking out greater strength and traveling the world, claiming all the greatest treasure that it has to offer. To most, the desert is a dangerous threat to be feared. To Angel, it’s a land of opportunity, waiting to be exploited. Steamforged Sorcery is, as the title suggests, a LitRPG Steampunk story with heavy focus on magic and scenery. The main character starts out relatively strong (but far from overpowered) but will eventually grow in strength to incredible levels. It is moderately paced and does not progress at ridiculous speeds. Release Schedule: 1,500 words daily Monday-Friday
