"I'm supposed to go over to Jack's and I don't know how long I'll be, could Anna watch Charlie for a bit?" Corbyn said over the phone to Daniel. "I'll call her and ask, where's Y/N?" "Downtown for a work meeting." "Oh, cool. I'll text you and let you know what Anna says." "Thanks, see you soon." Corbyn hung up the phone and went into the living room to find Charlie. "Hey sweetheart, we're gonna get going soon, where's your jacket?" She got up and grabbed it off the chair, putting it on with a bit of Corbyn's help. As Charlie was putting her shoes on, he heard the message tone of his phone go off and picked it up.

Corbyn shoved his phone in his pocket and bent down to Charlie's height. "You're gonna go hang out with Aunt Anna while I do some work at Uncle Jack's. Sound good?" She jumped up and down and smiled at her dad. "Yes! She always plays princesses with me." Corbyn smiled and picked her up, planting a big kiss on her cheek. She wrapped her small arms around his neck and giggled. "I love you, sweet pea." he said quietly. "I love you too Daddy." she said and they headed out to the car.

Corbyn entered Jack's house and followed the sound of music coming from down the hall. He walked into Jack's studio, where he made beats and recorded demos for potential songs. "There he is!" Jack exclaimed and took his headphones on. "What's up man?" "Here." Jack said, handing Corbyn the headphones. "Listen to this and tell me what you think." He slipped them on and listened to the track Jack played him, he loved it. He moved one side of off his ear. "Bro, this is fire. Have you showed everyone else?" Jack leaned back in his chair and smiled, "Yeah, I sent them the recording and they're so down." Corbyn fist bumped Jack, "This is gonna be great." The boys began fumbling with lyric combinations and different harmonies before a moment of silence fell over them. "Wait, why'd you want me to come over and not anyone else?" Corbyn asked and Jack sighed, "I wanted to talk to you about something, and I don't want you to get defensive on me." Corbyn leaned back in his seat and rested his arms on the chair. "I'm all ears." "Are you ever gonna tell Y/N you love her?" "Jack, listen—" "Bro, I'm serious. She's been your best friend for years, and she's a huge role in Charlie's life. You've been close for like, ever, and I don't know what's holding you back." Corbyn looked down to his shoes and tapped his foot. He chewed on his lower lip trying to organize his thoughts. "You're right, she is my best friend. And she is so important to me and Charlie, she needs Y/N. I'm afraid that if I tell her and she rejects me, I'll be ruining our friendship. More importantly, I'll be ruining Charlie's most likely only bond with somewhat of a mother. I can't do that." He admitted and Jack shook his head, "Nah dude, I see the way she looks at you. We both know you make her happy and she loves you. Don't miss out on this chance." Corbyn gave him a small smile and nodded, "Thanks, J." he said and Jack patted his back.

After leaving Jack's, Corbyn picked Charlie up from Anna's and drove back to his place. "Daddy?" Charlie chirped and Corbyn looked at her through the rearview mirror. "Hm?" "Is Y/N sleeping over tonight." "I don't think so, honey. Maybe tomorrow." He looked back at the road and then to her again, a small pout forming on her lips. He pouted back and she scrunched her nose at him. "Hey, don't get sassy with me Charlie." he lightly scolded her and she crossed her arms, turning to look out the window.

She ignored him the rest of the ride home and refused his help taking her jacket off. "What do you want for dinner?" he asked and she looked away from him. "I don't want dinner." she huffed and Corbyn didn't feel like arguing, "Charlie, you have to eat dinner." "No. I don't want it." she said and crossed her arms. "Go sit at the table, or you're going straight to bed." he warned and she stomped over to the table. Without turning around he yelled to her, "Charlotte Marie." "What?" she sassed and he dropped the pot back into the sink. "Go to your room. I'll come get you when dinner's ready." He says and she gets up dramatically, stomping all the way up to your room. He leans against the counter, sighing and pulling out his phone. He pulls up your contact and calls, hoping you'll answer as the line rings.
