《Kidnapped by the Alpha》Chapter 42: Why?

Isabelle's mouth dropped open and she turned to look at Daniel. She stared at him for a moment, wondering how this could happen, before she blacked out.
-
Jared caught her just before she fell and hit the ground. He brushed the hair away from her face tenderly and looked at her face softly, so full of emotion. He didn't know how he saw staying so calm through all this, inside, he was exploding with emotion. So much had happened to her in the last few days, he wondered how she was able to handle it. Now finding that his third in command was his mates brother, this put her stress on over load, causing her to black out.
Jared picked her up tenderly, holding her bridal style, and laid her on the couch. He then turned around and looked at Daniel. "Did you know about her?"
Daniel shook his head, "no, I didn't. I knew that my father probably would have had a child or two when he found his mate, but didn't know it was her. I swear."
Jared looked at Daniel skeptically before nodding. "Okay." He then looked back at Isabelle and sighed, "why would he keep her from this life. She's a werewolf and she had no idea that she was. I could sense that she was one after I marked her but I didn't tell her. I didn't think she would turn into one after, um... you know. I think that's why her heat came early also." He looked over at Daniel hesitantly when he said that.
Daniel eye's darkened, his wolf taken over. He jumped on Jared, tacking him to the ground, and growled, "you took my baby sister!"
Jared rolled over and pinned Daniel to the ground. "You barely know your sister. You've just met her! Now you're all protective of her and acting like a big brother? I know, you feel like you have to, but I also know that if she wasn't your sister, you wouldn't be acting like this!"

Daniel growled at him, his wolf clearly pissed off and being over protective of his already knew sister that he just met. "So! That doesn't matter! She's still my sister!"
"Stop!" Jared growled, using his alpha voice. Daniel tried to resist, but he couldn't, not when Jared had used his alpha voice. He stopped struggling a moment later and looked up at him. "Now that you're calm, we need to figure some things out, like how your father kept her from this life and how you two are both white wolves. Because you know that this barely happens. And now you both have the mark of the prophecy! Why is it that this had to happen to the two of you?"
Jared let him up with a sigh. He had partially lied to Isabelle when he had said that the mark means that they are brother and sister from the same father but different mothers. This was true, but there was more to the mark for this happening, especially since they both happened to be white wolves. He sighed again and rubbed his temples. He looked over at Daniel, who was now sitting up and asked, "what are we going to do now. You know what your going to have to do, but what about Isabelle? What are we going to tell her?"
Daniel sighed and looked at him, "I don't know, but I think we should keep it from her right now. I don't think she can handle anything else right now."
Jared nodded, looking down, "yeah, you're right. To much has happened to her in the last few days. From being attacked, to changing into a wolf, and then to this? To much for her. But we also need to have a talk with your father, don't you think?"

Daniel nodded, "I say your right. Are we going to wait for her to wake up though and leave her with her friend... Abigail is it?"
Jared nodded in agreement, "yeah, let's plan on leaving after she wakes up. I don't want to worry her."

Also, here's your next riddle. I finally came up with a good one, I think.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.

My Isekai
For those not familiar with the isekai genera, this story is about a man waking up in an unknown world. The story follows his journey and life in this world, which does not only look different on the surface, but the common norms and values of this world are very alien to the modern western mindset. How will this average western person respond to such a world, and how will it change him. For those familiar with isekai, this is a western take on a predominantly Japanese story format. It draws a lot of inspiration from Japanese isekai, but it also tries to tackle a lot of tropes that might be annoying to the western mindset. The story is not written for young boys as the story tries to take a mature take on some typical clichés and assumptions made by both the typical writer and reader of the genera.
