Isabelle felt a hard smack against her cheek and her head turned violently to the side. She turned her face back towards the person and spit blood out of her mouth. She had bitten her lip and cheek when she was smacked and now it was forming in her mouth.
"You will obey me and do what I say," the person told her, "otherwise you will never see the ones you love again. Do you understand?"
Isabelle slowly nodded, and couple of tears rolling down her cheeks at the thought she would never see Jared again. She had to stay strong though, she wasn't going to crack under his pressure, she needed to see her family again.
"I don't hear nods," the person before her said.
"Yes, I understand," Isabelle said softly.
"Good, now that we are at an understanding, I'll come back later. You are mine and you always will be..."
Isabelle slowly opened her eyes to Jared's face above her. He was saying something but she couldn't quite catch what it was. She could see adoration in his eyes though. She looked down at herself to see what had been broken since she heard bones breaking. But she didn't see anything broken, instead she saw something else that surprised her...
She had the body of a white wolf.
Isabelle jumped up in surprise and looked around wildly, wondering how this could have happened. She could still hear Jared saying something but she didn't listen. Jared made a grab for her but she jumped out of the way of his hands.
Calm down, she heard in her head.
Oh great, now I'm hearing voices! What's wrong with me?

Nothing's wrong with you, the voice said again, I am your wolf. Now calm down before you do something rash.
B-but how? Isabelle wondered, I'm not a wolf.
You clearly are, the voice said, just look at yourself. You are a wolf. My name is Sarah and you need to calm down also for your mate. He's worried about you. I'll disappear now and have you talk to him.
What! You're leaving now? What am I supposed to say to him?
You'll know, the voice said before Isabelle heard it slipping away and disappearing from her mind.
Jared finally got a hold of her and held her down, "Isabelle! Look at me!"
Isabelle finally trained eyes on him and relaxed under his touch. She said in his mind though mind link, "what's wrong with me Jared? Why am I a wolf?"
"I don't know, but you are. And not only that, but a white wolf, a rare wolf indeed."
"I want to be human again," Isabelle whined, "please tell me I can be."
"You can, all you have to do is imagine yourself in human form and you will transform back into a human."
Isabelle nodded slowly and closed her eyes tightly, imagining herself as a human and before she knew it, she was lying on the ground in Jared's arms as a human again. She wrapped her arms tight around Jared and pressed against him.
She heard him growl, "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
Isabelle lifted his head up from his chest and asked clearly puzzled, "and why is that?"
"Look at yourself," was all Jared could reply to her before tightening his arms around her and pulling her closer.
Isabelle looked down at herself only to realize to late that she was naked. She blushed and could feel him becoming hard under his boxers, the only scrape of clothing that he happened to be wearing. Isabelle tried to push away from him to go cover herself up but he stopped her.

"I'm not against doing it again, just so you know," Jared told her huskily in her ear, keeping his arms tight around her.
Isabelle blushed but shook her head, "no, I need to go take a shower and then I want to meet Daniel, like you promised me. And then I want to go over this issue of me turning into a wolf and how it happened, because I know I've never been a wolf in my life. So there's no possible way that I can be one."
Jared sighed before he smiled, "okay, we can do that." He stood up with Isabelle in his arms still saying, "but I'm going to take a shower with you. I haven't done that for a while now anyways."
Isabelle rolled her eyes, "a couple days does not count for a while."
Jared shrugged and smirked, "it does in my book." He walked towards the bathroom door and shut it, turned on the water and climbed in after stripping.
"Come on, you won't be meeting Daniel anytime soon if you just stand there."
Isabelle rolled her eyes, "I know." She then climbed in beside him and closed her eyes to soothingness of water pounding against her back.

Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
