《Kidnapped by the Alpha》Chapter 5: Kidnapped

No matter how heartbroken they were, they knew that once their mates were gone, they would be gone forever. They couldn't let that happen.
Jared and Luke stalked toward their vehicle with long, sure strides. "Their heading west, toward the ocean," Luke muttered to his Alpha. "If we hurry, we can catch up to them."
"Come on, then!" Jared growled and they both ran over to their van. Jared was glad they had decided to take the van instead of his truck. With what he had planned, the bulletproof glass and tinted windows would come in handy.
The boys sped along the road that the girls had taken, keeping a sharp eye out. They scanned every car along the way, hoping to catch a glance of their mates. "There!" Luke shouted loudly, startling Jared. The Alpha looked up and nearly howled with joy when he saw his mate's car speeding along the highway. He set the cruise control to match their speed and followed behind them a few car lengths back. It wasn't long after when the boys saw their mates pull into a dirt driveway to a large beach house. Jared saw the girls pile out of the car with their shopping bags, and drove past them. He circled the block a few times to seem less suspicious. On the fourth lap, Luke signaled for Jared to pull over.
Jared parked the van a few houses down from Isabelle's and sat there for a moment. It was silent until Luke shakily spoke. "So...what's the plan, Boss?"
Jared looked over at Luke grimly. "There is only one way that they will ever be with us, and that is if we kidnap them. I don't want to do it, but that's how it has to be. They'll probably hate us for it when they wake up, but it'll be worth it. We'll have to win their trust slowly. After the performance at the mall, I can already tell that they're going to be a bit of a handful. I can stand knowing that my mate is angry with me if it means keeping her safe with me."
Luke nodded. "I understand, Alpha. If this is the only way to be with my mate, I'm in." He then looked thoughtful for a moment and asked, "How exactly are we going to go about doing this?"
Jared shrugged. "I had hoped you had an idea because we can't just walk right through the front door and say, 'Hey! We're here to kidnap you and take you to our home to live with us forever because we're werewolves and you're our mates!' I don't think that would blow over very well."

Luke nodded in agreement. "You're right. What if we went in while they were sleeping? That would be easier. Less of a hassle. I think Daniel left some Chloroform in the back of the van last time we sent him out. The only thing we need are some snacks for the road in case the girls wake up hungry."
"Good idea," Jared replied. He smirked after a moment. "Though, I seriously doubt there will be any snacks left when they wake up." He looked at Luke and grinned widely, his stomach growling again. Luke laughed loudly.
Luke shook his head, still chuckling. "Lets go, you bottomless pit. When we get to the gas station I'll get in the back and grab the Chloroform. You run in and get some chips or something."
Jared nodded again and put the van in drive.
---------------------------------
They arrived back at the house a few hours later. Jared saw lights on inside the house and cursed. The boys had hoped their mates would be asleep already. It was already midnight, so the girls had to be getting tired soon.
They parked right outside Isabelle's house and Luke could see a faint outline of the television through the windows. "Looks like they're still watching T.V. I wish they would go to sleep already. The last thing we need is someone to notice a creepy van sitting outside a girl's house."
Jared nodded in agreement and looked over at the window to the living room. He sat up abruptly, banging his knee on the steering wheel. "Ow! Hey, they're getting up and leaving to go to bed. They just finished their movie."
Luke then looked over at Jared. He could see the nervousness in his Alpha's eyes. "We should probably wait about an hour or two, just until we're sure that they're asleep."
Jared nodded in agreement, his hands squeezing the steering wheel. "Yeah, you're right. That's probably best." He sat back, his heart hammering in his chest. He couldn't help the spark of hope that flared within.
-------------------------------------------------------------
When it was finally time to go in, it was around two in the morning. The girls should have been fast asleep, so the boys looked at each other silently. "It's time." Jared murmured. They quietly climbed out of the van, shutting the doors with care.
They made their way silently toward the house. Jared headed to the back of the house, hoping the back door would be unlocked. Alas, his hopes were dashed when he twisted the doorknob and met resistance. Luke chucked as he watched Jared struggle. "Would you like me to pick the lock? We don't want to be out here all night."

Jared hesitated a moment, then grudgingly nodded at his Beta. Luke laughed. "Alright." He then grinned and teased, "This is because you don't know how to do it. I found something else that I can do that you can't!"
Jared rolled his eyes and shook his head. "No! I can do it," he protested. "I'm just slower at it than you."
"Surrrreeee......" Luke said drawing it out. "Whatever helps you sleep at night." Luke chuckled and bent down, starting to pick the lock.
"No! It's true!" Jared protested again. He really did know how to do it, he just wasn't that fast at it. He was actually quite proud of himself for his improvements while practicing.
A few moments later, Luke had the deadbolt unlocked with a faint click. They both sent a silent message to each other to be quiet before heading inside the house.
Instantly, the smell of their mates came to their noses and Jared breathed in deeply, taking in his mate's sweet smell. He followed it to her room while Luke followed his own mate's scent into a room across the hall.
Jared pushed her door open slowly, careful not to wake her. He was struck speechless by the sight of her in slumber. Her lips were parted slightly, soft breaths escaping while she dreamt. Her long blonde hair cascaded around the pillow, an endless sea of golden strands. Every few moments or so she would twitch in her sleep as if she were having a bad dream.
Walking fully into the room, he noticed the bag that was laying on the foot of her bed. Upon further inspection, Jared discovered that it was the same bag that his mate had carried with her at the mall during their fallout. He found a deep purple shirt inside, and decided that if his mate had bought it for herself then he would bring it with them. He wanted her to be happy with him, and if bribing her with her shirt brought him closer to that goal, then so be it.
He sat the bag near the door for when he departed and walked back over to his mate. Jared sat on the edge of the bed and watched her sleeping form, a smile on his face. She looked so vulnerable and innocent while in slumber. Jared's wolf wanted nothing more than to hold her and protect her from the world. He leaned forward and gently kissed her forehead, savoring the moment. She moved a bit, startling him, but quickly settled back down. Jared knew he was running out of time. "Forgive me," He whispered sadly.
He took the Chloroform-filled rag from his back pocket and placed it gently over her mouth. Her eyelids fluttered open and her striking green eyes looked around the room desperately before settling on his face. She breathed in desperately, not realizing what was on the rag. After a short moment, Jared painstakingly watched his mate's body go limp and her eyes fall shut once more.
He shoved the rag back in his pocket, regretful. He hated to drug her, but he knew it had to be done. Jared ran his hand along her cheek adoringly, struck by her beauty once more. He gave her one last kiss on her forehead before he gently picked her up and cradled her in his arms. Even drugged her body seemed tense, but the moment she was in his arms she went fully limp, her body recognising it's mate even if her mind did not.
Jared scooped the bag off of the floor and hung it from his wrist before heading out of the door. He ran into Luke who was carrying his own mate, and the boys grinned victoriously at each other. "Lets go." Jared murmured. He was anxious to get the girls home.
They moved through the house silently, making sure not to bump into anything in the process. Jared was extra cautious, cradling his mate's head to his chest. He loved the sound of that; his mate. He looked down at the sleeping beauty in his arms, and it took everything in him not to mark her right then and there.
Luke pulled the back door shut behind his Alpha and together the boys jogged quickly to the van. Jared yanked the back doors open impatiently and laid his mate carefully on the quilt they had spread out previously. He placed her with utmost care, and saw his Beta do the same. Jared kissed her gently on the forehead once more, and they gently closed the doors.
When the boys silently got in the cab, they just sat there looking at each other. They couldn't believe that their plan had worked. Jared's wolf was howling in victory and he could feel that Luke's wolf was howling with him. Luke grinned widely, his wolf pushing through. "Let's get our girls home, Alpha."
"No problem." Jared chuckled. He quietly started the van, looking at the girls over his shoulder. When he was sure they were still asleep, he gently put the van in drive. Together the boys sped through the night, their mates finally within their grasp.

The Collected Short Stories of Necrontyr525
Hey all, Necrontyr525 here! Rather then drown you all in a flood of one- to three-chapter mini-fics, I've decided to put out all of my short stories in an 'omnibus' format, sorted by series and by release date. These stories span my entire progress as a writer-for-fun over the past three plus years, with the corisponding variance in length, subject matter, and quality. Each chapter will get an Author's Note as a sort of forwards. Not nessisarily as a summary, but more to give you all some context for where each short came from, as well as any chapter-spicific trigger warnings. I can't think of any off of the top of my head, but better safe then sour.Comments, reviews, and constuctive criticizm is welcome, but please do recall that these works collectivly represent a great deal of my growth as a writer.Cover by the wonderful gej302!
