We thought the worst part would be on the surface but we was wrong. So wrong. We did not know what hide down in the earth, and Percy. That kid needed a hug. The fact that I just kalled him kid in my thoughts when he's one year older than me was hilariously sad. He refused to fly down, he didn't say why but I knew. The fall reminded him too much of tartarus. And when he sliped on the wall I had to get him. It was not lovely, it was rather painful. Clarisse had no problems with climbing down but I knew that she knew, she heard the stories of the war, she knew how Percy fells, just as I do. Percy looks terrified but minutes later we reach the ground. "Was it worth it?" I asked. "Yeah, it was" he respond quietly. We turned around to face a huge mountain sticking out through the ground like it pierced itself through the ground coming from below. Something about this was wrong. "Ahh! Its almost of!" The voice of thousand sounds echoed through the hall. "Aghh!!!!!!!! Help me you fools!!!!" sounds of people screaming in pain was the thing that made us running. "Whats going on here!?" I screamed. The mountain grew. "Yes!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!" the thousand voices screamed. A nightmare came up when I realized what we were going to face. The monstrous Typhon. Legends told that he was the last giant Gaia gave birth to, the worst one of them al. His head touched the universe and his arms stretched to the corners of the earth. His body was built by monstrous animals and when he spoke, he spoke in a thousand voices. My dad defeated him at last. Alone. The other olympians was to scared to face this monster. And placed mount Etna over his beaten body. He was the only monster that also were a god. And now we had to face him. Clarisse ran to the mountain. "Wait! NO! Don't approach that mountain!" the laugh of Typhon was louder than ever. Cracks from the corners of the mountain began to open. I ran after her. "Hell take you too!" but she never heard. She was already falling. I grabbed Percy by the waist and threw ourselves over the crack were Clarisse fell down.

The sounds were unbearable. So many demigods, so many monsters, working against their will to lift this mountain up. 5 feet from the ground I stopped us al. Heavy breathing took my senses. "Whats going on here? What are they al doing?" Percy said. I looked at him with serious eyes. "Ever heard the legend about Typhon?" he looked at me with big eyes. "No, you, you can't be serious" he stammered. "What else would it be?" I told him. "We have to free these people, now" Clarisse was right. "But how?" I asked. Percy seemed to answering the question but then he stopped. "Do you have any idea Percy?" I asked again. "Well, they obviously must be controlled against their force, through their mind. Maybe if we can somehow release them by distracting Typhon and make him unfocused and ease his control... Maybe we can get their attention and free them?" Wow, he was much smarter than I thought. "Absolutely, we must give it a try" Clarisse were already on her way.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!
