Hermione sat on her wheelchair with a blanket covering her legs, they were waiting for Harry and Ginny to arrive to properly talk about what happened. Draco placed four teacups on the table, "they should be here soon."

Hermione reached for his hand and smiled softly at him. Draco wanted to scoff at himself, this woman could make him calm without even saying anything. He leaned down Kissing the top of her head.

Harry and Ginny didn't arrive much later, Draco led then to their kitchen and served them tea. Ginny handed a letter to Hermione, "before you open that we should start off telling you everything." Hermione glanced at Draco then at the letter amd nodded. "when you were on the verge of life and death the doctor told us thst there was a small possibility we could save you. You needed a new heart."

Hermione glanced down at her chest but before she could say anything Ginny continued. "neither one of us were compatible and you know one of the things about being with Harry is that reporters follow you everywhere. I was able to spread the news of you needing a donor and people showed up. None of the strangers were compatible but my brother, Ron was." Ginny's voice cracked, "He was the only green light and before he went in he gave me that."

Hermione opened the letter and read it.

Hermione,

by the time you read this I won't be on this earth. I want to apologise for all the pain I caused you. I now realise how stupid I've been and I wanted to come clean.

When you left me I told a fan thst I slept with that night about everything. I was drunk and not thinking straight, that has become a pattern in my life. She said that you would pay for that and I just wrote it off as a drunk statement.

I found out it wasn't just that and I felt incredibly guilty. I took care of her, she's been locked up.

When I heard you needed a heart I decided to do what I should've done years ago, I gave you my heart.

I hope you at the very least get to enjoy your life and get to accomplish your dreams. I'm so sorry for everything.

Hermione wiped a tear away, "how did your mum handle the news?"

Ginny took a deep breath, "she had a hard time. On one hand she didn't know you were still alive and on the other she lost her youngest son. You can imagine how that went." she turned to her husband, "it's been very hard for all of us."

Harry's smile fell immediately, "I still can't believe everything, I stilk think that I'll see him at brunch with the Weasleys or at work."

"I can't believe he donated his heart." Hermione admitted feeling conflicted with her emotions. She could understand why Draco wsnted to wait some time for her to know everything.

They stayed talking for a bit before the Potters had to leave. Draco kneeled down next to her chair once they left and toom her hand, "how do you feel?"

Hermione sighed, "I don't know and I might never know but all that matters is having you by my side till the end of times." She ran a hand through his hair, "I need cuddles. And food."

Draco cracked a smile, "I'll make some food and we can eat on the couch my love."

Hermione pulled him in for a soft kiss, "I love you."

"I love you too Mione."

A month went by of getting used to new changes in their routine. Draco didn't have to check her health all the time and they could have all the fun they wanted to without worrying about Hermione fainting.

She would still need her mobility aids, there was no way around this but Hermione was learning to be fine with it.

"what are you thinking about princess?" Draco asked hugging her close.

Hermione leaned back into his arms and scratched Dexter's head gently. "nothing, just enjoying the peace and quiet." She turmed her head looking at him, "how about we go for a walk? It's really nice outside."

Dexter immediately shook his tail happily. "I'll put on his leash."

Hermione walked hand in hand with her boyfriend enjoying the nice afternoon they had.

Dexter was so happy to be out of the apartment and so was Hermione. She didn't like being stuck in there and Draco did make it a goal to get her out of their little home they created at least once a day. Sometimes they sat on the rooftop talking, sometimes they went shopping and other times they walked around the park.

Draco really wanted to buy a nice house for them, a place with a nice backyard and enough room to raise a family. Merlin, he really wanted to start a family with Hermione. He wanted everything with her.

He only needed to plan the next move, surely Hermione would say yes.
