《For Life》8. Mi Casa Es Su Casa

"So, do we have a deal, Silver?" CIA Director Timothy Riley asks.

My lawyer David looks at me and shrugs, I breathe in the smoke and exhale as I rub my forehead, hiding the grin from my face at how easy that was and how simple it is to please these people.

All signatures, the ones I requested have been signed on the document that seals my 'fresh start' and agreement with the CIA. Director of the CIA Timothy Riley and President Corten's signatures prove that if I help 'push' them in the right direction for one of the world's most hidden underworld secrets, I have a new life, possibly one with no one finding out the 'boss' spoke.

Normally I would kill those who spoke about any of my business, every single detail of how I run my operation is a slap in my face, and in my world, everyone knows that you raise your hand, you best be prepared to be parted with it, slowly and for days until you meet your end.

Being boss and sharing one tiny secret is tricky, I need to give information on Marko Milandi about the bombings in Europe, but the truth of the matter, he's only a teeny part to blame for the deaths, in fact, he only 'donated' components to make the bombs, Marko is a simple man but when he has an agenda, he involves himself for only himself, never for publicity, it's all about money.

The CIA and FBI should be looking for the Iguana sisters, Angel, Tamana, and Daisy. No one should underestimate the sisters, they've murderers for hire who like to stick their nose into every single thing for a price.

The bombings in Europe are entirely their style, all the bombs were wrapped in a box with a green army bow, a sick twisted game they like to play, they were daughters of war, and they were brought up in it, consumed by it, never once wanting to leave it behind, they now live in it, for a price, in my world their talents with creativity are much appreciated from the regular ways of doing things.

If you want creativity, they're your girls.

"Silver, sign it and you are a free man," Tim says, moving the paper in front of me.

I click the pen a few times and stare at Tim in the eyes, thinking this all over again.

To get rid of these girls would be such a shame, but being stuck in here and not meeting her... would be a bigger shame and a regret if I missed this opportunity.

"Okay." I click the pen and sign all documents.

I nod to my lawyer David and he sighs and goes into his jacket pockets hidden compartment and then hands me the piece of paper.

Inside is all of the known locations for their weapon stash, your personal for hire number, and names of their main benefactors, excluding my name now of course.

I hold the piece of paper in my hand, just as an agent was about to grab it I pull back and grin. "Are you sure you want to go down this road Tim? Many will die, can you live with such guilt?" I ask, teasingly twirling the paper between my fingers.

"I will never stop until I find the ones who killed my daughter Hazel." Tim says roughly and swipes the paper from my hands.

"Congratulations on your release, Silver, I'll be seeing you soon." He says before standing up, nodding to his agents, and leaves through the door, his agents following behind him.

The door shuts and I lean back in my seat, I feel Davids's eyes on me so I turn to him, seeing him with a frown on his face. "The girls were a good investment, what a shame." He says and I laugh.

"Angel was never going to settle with you, David." I state and he sighs out.

He stands up from the chair and pushing it under the table then buttons up his suit jacket, he looks and me and grins. "That was the fun of it, it was our thing." He says and I laugh out, shaking my head and standing up.

"Fucking crazy bitches, may they rest in pieces." I say grinning and David slaps me on the back.

David laughs and before he opens the door, before having this meeting today I set multiple safeguards throughout the prison, all my men are on duty today, waiting for my word.

I am a man of my word and I have kept promises in here, starting with my cellmate Danny and ending with old man Ronnie. I'm not sentimental and I don't give a shit about people and what they want or need but since they had been loyal to me on the inside, I've granted them an out.

They are more than likely miles away from the prison as I speak, with new identities and passports for their loved ones, with enough money to keep them for five years. The catch? There wasn't one, if one thing I learned recently is that even the most fucked up pieces of shit deserve second chances.

Look at me being all fucking soft.

My eyes can't possibly get any wider than they are right now.

What I'm seeing in front of me is beyond words and thought. I'm standing, with my brother in my arms, staring at one of the most beautiful mansions I have ever laid eyes upon, there is no words at how huge this place is and how much this property must have cost.

Now I am beyond curious about who the hell this guy Austin is, this place looks like it was made for a billionaire. Wait, is he a billionaire? At this point in wonder, I do not even need to think about it, this guy clearly has money, and lots of it.

A woman walks over and smiles at me, she is dressed in a tight pencil skirt and thrilly white shirt, she looks like a model with her perfect hair and makeup, her smile is blinding from how white her teeth are, and she makes me feel self-conscious with her standing next to me in my not so designer clothes.

"Miss Clark, right? And you must be Max." She says sweetly as she looks at Max and I.

I nod my head. "I'm heather, mister Sil- Sullivan's assistant, I'm here to welcome and settle you guys in." She says, smiling politely at us.

I force a smile and put Max down and hold onto his hand as he stares at everything with curiosity. "Um, thank you, that's really nice of you," I say and she shakes her head.

"This place is over 8,000 square feet and one of the estates Mr. Sullivan owns here in the city, with over 20 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms, this place is pretty easy to get lost in so feel free to explore, Mr. Sullivan has informed me to tell you to feel at home until he can officially introduce himself and he also apologizes he could not show you around himself." Heather says politely with a sad smile, that is immediately replaced by a tight one.

I get the feeling she's threatened by my being here, perhaps she has a thing for this Austin guy? I have not seen or spoke to the man but I'm sure if he has someone as beautiful as Heather all over him, he would definitely not look at me twice knowing she is within arms reach and willing.

As she leads us into the mansion I can't help but be totally overwhelmed by how gorgeous this place is, the rooms are made of marble and everything is pristine and looking new, untouched even. Expensive art pieces are everywhere, from vases to sculptures, and just walking down the halls has my skin sweat at the thought of accidentally knocking one over.

I could definitely never afford to replace a single thing in this place, no way whatsoever, I'm 100% sure even the toilet paper in this mansion is insanely overpriced.

Perhaps I should lecture Max about not touching anything, god knows I will try not to, in fear of breaking something and getting fired.

Heather has shown us the main kitchen, which was possibly the most favorite room of mine so far, everything was top of the line and brand new, it looked completely untouched and every room so far that I had been in, had a new smell to it, I love it but it's also a little.. stuffy.

I have yet to see any family photos or personal items of the mysterious Austin Sullivan, I'm starting to wonder if this guy is real and this is just a plot to entrap me in this very large museum mansion.

"Now this is my favorite part of the house, the garden and it's also where I leave you for the day." She says smiling as she pushes open a large double door and reveals the garden.

"Woaaahh Rose! They have a pool! Rose! Look, Rose!!" Max says running out in awe and looking around amazed and giddy.

"Max don't run please!" I call out and Max slows down. I look around at how beautiful and peaceful it is out here, compared to the mansion, this part of the mansion has clearly had some thought and affection put into it, everything is beautiful.

Words can not even describe how wonderful and magical this garden is, someone, put a lot of love into making it look this cared for. I feel so at home and at peace out here, it's a strange feeling, Austin must value peace and quiet like me to put this much thought into his garden.

It's absolutely perfect.

Max is solely focused on the very large pool in the middle of the garden and is looking at me with a toothy grin and puppy eyes. I feel my chest clench at the thought of saying no to him, but this is not our place or our pool, Mr. Sullivan is my employer and I do not think he would appreciate us invading his space and using his pool.

I look at Heather and she smiles. "Like I said Miss Clark, feel at home. Everything here is yours to explore, use and rearrange as you please, even the pool." She says with a wink and I blink at her confused.

Before I could ask what she meant by that, her phone rings, and I briefly see who is calling, it looked like it began with an 'S'. She looks at me apologetically and smiles. "I need to take this, it was nice meeting you Rose, please, feel at home." She says with a smile as she answers the call and walks away.

I sigh deeply and turn around and sit on a nearby chair near the pool, it's so warm out and the pool looks so comfortable right about now, I smile and giggle as Max begins to sit on the edge of the pool in the shallow end and splash the water with his little legs.

I wonder if there are any swim trunks around here? I stand up and look around, this place is magic, there's a bar within a bar outside on the far right corner, and to my left, there is a sauna room I can see through the glass windows with massage tables, and a room within that room looks like a small botanical garden.

Am I way too overwhelmed to comment on how insane this place is? Definitely.

I focus on Max and walk over to sit next to him on the edge of the pool, removing my shoes like him and dipping my feet into the cool water.

"Are we living here now Rose?" Max asks me as he kicks his feet, splashing happily.

I take a shaky breathe and smile, a sense of peace washing over me randomly. "Yeah.. what do you think? Do you like it here so far buddy?" I ask him and without telling me, his facial expression says it all as he smiles up at me and nods his floppy head of hair.

"YES!!! We should stay here forever Rose!" He says happily and I chuckle at him.

I lean back and enjoy the feel of the water on my feet as I listen to the sound of birds chirping and the water trickling, the heat touching my skin and the sounds around me finally make me feel at peace like I can finally take a real breath, one I have never taken before.

...Yeah, it would be nice to stay here forever, a place that actually feels like home.
