Two weeks passed and no one heard nothing from Dahlia so they assumed she hadn't planned on communicating with the family just yet. Everyone was sure she would take Hope as she was the elder child, so they protected her at all costs. Yet the family hadn't known it want Hope she had her eye on.
"NIK!" Shouted a panicked Leah, entering the compound holding her daughter close to her chest.
"What happened Sister?" Asked a worried Elijah as he rushed to her.
Hayley left her room with Hope in her arms worried as she watched Leah. Niklaus left his drawing room to see what all the fuss was and he was stood in the second floor watching his wife hold his daughter to his chest.
"Dahlia, she's here," said leah watching her husband who rushed towards her to check if either one of them where hurt.
"What happened?" He demanded looking at his wife who gulped nervously who knew her husband would go mad if he found out she was out without his protection.
"Joy and I went to the cemetery, to visit Kol's grave and on our way home, and some flower guy offered us dahlias which was rather weird but he was then possessed by something, the flower sales person said "I am here, I am everywhere, and I intend to take what's mine" then Joy began to scream so loud and I rushed home!"
"Isn't that the point of a fortress, It does a better job of protecting you when you stay within its walls?" Klaus all but shouted.
"OK! I understand now, can we just figure out what the hell we have to do, and I'm rather sure she wants Joy," she spoke worry in her voice.
"WHAT I SHOULD DO IS TAKE A-"
"Niklaus please speak to your wife with some respect, but Leah he is right, as are you we must find a new strategy so sister if you may," spoke Elijah interrupting Niklaus as he shouted at his wife.
"The spell you described, Dahlia calls it kenning, using proxies to watch her enemies from but, I've never seen it done on quite this scale," Klaus only watched her half curious and half panicked.
"So every bloody person, human or supernatural is a spy thats just amazing," Leah spoke with a frustrated sigh.
"The good thing is that I know a little about how her magic works, and this tonic I prepared will not allow her to use either of us," Freya spoke pouring tea in everyones tea cup.
"Bottoms up!" Spoke Rebekah drinking the brown liquid as did everyone else, apart from Niklaus who only stared at the cup.
"Niklaus, is there something you wish to contribute?" Spoke Elijah in pure annoyance in his voice.
"I prefer biscuits with my tea," klaus said shrugging his shoulders, and Elijah and Leah rolled their eyes at him.
"Of course," Elijah muttered under his breath clearly annoyed at him.
"Besides, our minds are far too strong to be invaded by kenning spells She's preparing for battle my guess is sooner rather than later," spoke Klaus ignoring Elijah who rolled his eyes once again and sipped his tonic.
"Well if she was watching us she would know, we're more powerful than she knows," Hayley said as if comforting Leah.
"Joy will be okay, I'll make sure of it," said a very worried Elijah comforting Leah who only nodded.
Rebekah and Freya where sitting on the bench opposite to each other chanting something incoherent. Rebekah quickly let go of Freya's hands as if they had burnt her.

"Rebekah, we must continue," Freya said speaking to her sister gently.
Rebekah on looked at her sister in shock and Leah watched them concern and confusion written on her face.
"What is it?" Leah spoke asking Rebekah still confused.
Rebekah only turned to Freya looking appalled "Uh, you. You're the reason Dahlia is able to cast such powerful spells, she's channeling you!"
Leah looked at Freya, feeling betrayed, but Freya looked as shocked at the news as did everyone else, this to was a new revaluation to her.
"This whole time, you've been helping her, I trusted you against Niklaus' better judgement!" Spoke Leah disgusted with her behaviour.
Freya only shook her head, obviously upset at what they had just learnt, "I had no idea, she must have found me, please she wants you to turn against me!"
"Get away from me! Get away from us!" Spoke Leah fearful as to her response.
"Freya, I want to trust you, I do, but you said it yourself you're bonded to Dahlia I'm sorry, but it's better that you go Please," said Rebekah placing a hand on Freya's shoulder.
Freya only agreed knowing Leah and Rebekah knew Dahlia getting stronger was because of her and she hated that she couldn't help her family. Instead of arguing she walked out the compound. Joy had fallen asleep in her mother's arms rather calmer than normal so she placed her in his crib in the shared nursery. Elijah watched her from the door his arm on the frame as he smiled at his smiling niece.
"Leah I am sorry-"
"For what Elijah?"
"We vowed as a family to protected both children, but we've all been focused on Hope, even Niklaus had and for that I am very sorry sister," he spoke rather ashamed and she only shook her head at him.
"Elijah it is no problem, we just have to protect," she spoke worry filling her voice filled with worry. "Brother she is my everything, I have nothing else."
"Sister, you have Niklaus, Rebekah and I you even have Hayley and Hope because they too love you," he spoke smiling at her making her smile sadly at him.
"Elijah, Niklaus and I we've hardly spoke to one another in these two weeks, I think he's with Camille, no, I know he is," she spoke watching her daughter sadly.
"Sister if you want I can speak to Niklaus," spoke Elijah who hated his brothers games.
"No honestly there is no point," leah spoke with a shrug and Elijah sighed. "How's Hayley?" She spoke with a smirk.
"Sister-"
"Come on Elijah, enlighten me."
"Sister I care for her more than I should," spoke Elijah with a grin as he attempted to continue to talk Joy awoke with a light cry.
Leah bent down to pick her up with a sigh and Elijah kissed his nieces head and sped out of the nursery. Joy once again fell asleep on her mother's chest and she smiled at her daughter. Just as she turned to place her back into her crib she opened her eyes once again so Leah placed her back onto her chest before hearing an angered Niklaus shout for his wife.
"Nik could you please shut your mouth your daughter is trying to sleep!"
"What did you do to Camille?" He spoke anger seething from his words and she looked at him shocked.
"What do you mean what did I do, I didn't even see your mistress today!"

"Stop lying, I found her in the alley beside Rousseau's with her heart torn from her chest!" He said almost shouting at his wife.
"I didn't kill her but she did deserve it that little bitch," she spoke with a laugh angered by the fact her husband was messing around with the now dead waitress.
"LIES ALL YOU SPEAK ARE LIES! I swear you will pay for this, I will make you pay!" He shouted as Walking closer to his wife who held their daughter who cried.
"How dare you Nik! How fucking dare you, I told you I did not kill your prostitute, and you do not believe m-" Spoke Leah and klaus only got more and more angry not caring he grabbed her by the throat slamming her to the wall, his hand in her chest but was ripped off by Elijah.
"NIK!" "KLAUS!" Shouted a concerned Hayley and Rebekah who rushed to Leah who only Held a screaming Joy.
"Niklaus! Brother, can't you see shes holding your child and you harm her! How dare you brother, she speaks the truth when have you known her to speak lies!" Said a very pissed off Elijah.
"ELIJAH SHE KILLED CAMI, SHE WAS INNOCENT!"
"You know what Nik fuck you, you dickhead!" Spoke Leah before speeding upstairs and taking a few of Joys and her stuff.
"Klaus She would never harm someone around her daughter!" Shouted an angry Hayley.
"You where so scared Dahlia would take your child, you know what Nik now I am, don't expect to see either of us!" Spat Leah walking towards her husband who stood anger in the middle of the compound.
"Sister please-" said Elijah but couldn't finish his sentence since she had sped out her bag on her shoulder and her daughter in her arms who only continued to cry.
Leah hadn't known where she was going but she ended up outside of Marcels place across the river.
"Did you kill her?" Asked Marcel who downed his drink watching his mother his voice accusing his mother.
"Marcel I-"
"DID YOU KILL HER LEAH?"
Upon hearing her son call her by her name sadness hit her heart but she turned around and scoffed.
"I did not touch your precious Cami, you Marcellus are just like your father, both eager to place the blame on me," she spoke shaking her head.
"Mom-"
Leah only sped away from the boy she called her son holding a crying Joy. She walked into the nearest hotel she could find which happened to be the palace Royal. As she got into the room she noticed a small cut on Joys head as she cried.
"Oh my darling, you'll be okay," leah spoke placing a plaster on her daughters head.
After a feed and a change Joy fell straight to sleep and Leah sat on the bed watching her baby sleep. She thought about today's events and hadn't noticed she began to cry.
Early the next morning leah awoke beside her baby who slept like an Angel. A knock on the door came and she opened it thinking it was housekeeping, however it was not. Opening the door she noticed an apologetic Marcellus watched his mother.
"Mom I-"
"Marcel, leave," she spoke her words bitter.
"Mom please I just-"
"Marcel I do not want to speak, so you should go home," she spoke clotting the door but he only pushed it open.
"Mom I'm sorry, please-"
"I am not in the mood right now Marcel just go," she spoke turning to sit on the bed.
"Mom Please-"
"Marcellus, when your father wanted to kill you for bringing Mikael here who protected you?" Spoke a pissed Leah he only looked Ashamed.
"You."
"Who never let anyone harm you when you wanted to be with Rebekah?"
"You did."
"Exactly, do you think I'd harm any woman you care for? No Marcellus I wouldn't, yet you believe I would, as a child I only cared that you remain happy."
"Mom-"
"Marcellus leave," she spoke hurt evident on her voice.
"I'm sorry," spoke Marcel as he walked out with his head hung down in shame.
Just after a few seconds the door knocked once again and leah sighed before opening it.
"Marcel I told you-"
"Sister it's me," Spoke Elijah who looked exhausted.
"What's-"
"Sister you're in danger, Dahlia is after Joy and she almost killed Hayley to get her."
"Why Hayley?"
"Sister i do not know you must come back to the compound we have an idea Freya is waiting."
"Elijah I don't want to go back there," Spoke leah watching her daughter who just woke up.
"Leah I promise I will not allow Niklaus to come near you if you do not want him to, right now we need to keep Joy safe, we need to allow a beacon of light to shine her energy so Dahlia is drawn to her, then we will kill her."
"Fine," she spoke with an eye roll and picked up her baby who smiled at her and giggled when she saw Elijah.
"Sister what happened to her head?"
"I think she hurt herself when Niklaus and I were arguing."
Elijah only looked at her apologetically and she only smiled at him lightly. They both walked back to the compound silently and as they entered Leah only sighed before entering. Niklaus noticed his wife holding his daughter and he walked over to them only to be stopped by Elijah.
"You will not go near them brother," spoke Elijah standing in front of Leah and Joy and he only scoffed.
"That's my wife and my daughter, I will go see them if I want."
"Brother you will not, and I mean you will not go near them, you lay your hands on your wife, hurting your daughter in doing so, so therefor brother I suggest you move from her or I will remove you myself," spoke Elijah and Klaus looked over his brothers shoulder to look at his wife who only avoided his gaze.
"Niklaus, you lay a hand on your wife!" Esther spoke coming out from the dining room and Leah looked at her in shock.
"Oh spare me the anger mother, you tried to have Hope killed!" Klaus spoke spitting his words at his mother who only scold him.
"Oh my dear child, how are you?" Spoke Esther walking towards Leah and Joy.
"Mother How?" Leah spoke watching her confused.
"We have no time to explain, but my dear I am sorry for Niklaus' behaviour, and Joy is just beautiful as I knew she would be a thousand years ago," she spoke touching the cheek of her granddaughter. "She has a lot of power, my child at times she will not be able to control it but I know you will help her through it, you are a great mother, I am sorry my daughter,"
Dahlia just then walked in to see her sister in shackles and saw Joy.
"I see you are here to deliver what is owed to me, sister."
"Sister we can be together once again," spoke Esther before wrapping the shackles around her neck. "In death."
"Elijah now!" Shouted Freya holding The both of them in the circle of salt her nose bleeding by the immense power she was using.
Elijah threw the Knife to Niklaus and he sped towards them stabbing dahlia in the chest. They watched as both their mother and Dahlia turned grey and there hearts stopped.
"We won!" Spoke a relieved Rebekah who was now in her own body once again causing Leah to smile before turning around and heading towards the door.
"Wait!" Shouted Niklaus towards his wife upon hearing his voice she stiffened and turned to him fear evident in her face.
"I have to go!" She spoke quickly speeding off.

This blurb concerns Incursions book 1: Incarceration. If you could buy superhuman abilities, but they might kill you—or worse—would you do it? Ten years ago, in a world not so different from our own, people with powerful abilities appeared. The new powers were dangerous, dangerous to acquire—dangerous to have—dangerous to wield. World governments raced to find and eradicate the abilities and those who possess them while using the media to rule by fear. Whereas corporations sought to exploit the abilities for profit. Raz Owens was living the dream - a rising star at a job he enjoys, a girlfriend he loves, but it all comes crashing down when Raz disregards his late father's advice. He is pulled into a chaotic underworld of clandestine labs, shadow organizations, and super-powered criminals. Used as a human test subject in a place where few survive the day, he must last long enough to escape. His only advantage? A power that seems nearly useless—a heads-up display. Contains: monsters, violence, death, dismemberment, gamelit, superpowers, superpower consequences, good guys, bad guys, good guys who might be bad guys, bad guys who think they are good guys, good guys that might go bad, bad guys that might turn good, guns for hire, competence, incompetence, continence, incontinence, conspiracies, and some of what I just said wasn't true. This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.
