《The Alpha's Protector》Eleven

It's takes a lot to get wolves drunk, but let me just say that Mariah and I were drunk as hell.
I grinned as I spun in the meadow, my arms outstretched as Mariah just giggled next to me. We both had two bottles of alcohol, one open and one still sealed. I took a swig from the vodka bottle I had, smacking my lips together as I peered up at the stars.
Mariah started giggling again over how I distracted Tyler, let's just say she got an earful from Alex about an hour after we left. She cut off the mindlink like me, so right now my mind was empty for the first time in so long.
I flung myself back onto the grass, I truly had no idea where we were, but this grass felt great under my skin. I picked up a piece of grass and twirled it around my fingers, my eyes looking through all the flowers.
I loved flowers.
I opened my mindlink, Tyler's voice immediately flooding my brain as I squeezed my eyes shut.
'I love flowers Ty.'
I heard him growling and mumbling about something in my head, clouds rolling in the sky above me.
'Where the hell are you Lena!'
I started laughing at his voice, rolling onto my stomach next to a passed out Mariah.
'Somewhere with flowers!'
I felt him trying to look through my eyes, but I simply shut them. I didn't want to go home yet!
'Are you still, tied up, Tyler?' I laughed maniacally as I heard him growl, opening my eyes to show him the night sky. 'Look at the tars Ty!'
'Ty?' I giggled, sending love through our link.
'You call me a million names, you deserve a nickname! Oh, what if I call you prince!'
I heard him grumble again, muttering about someone not being able to drive right.
'Only in the bedroom Angel.'
I opened my eyes to show him Mariah and the field, taking a sip from my bottle of Vodka.
'Come to the field and drink with me!' I whined to him, cradling the bottle to me.
'I'm on my way, what have you done tonight?'
I hummed as I took another sip, not even feeling the burn as it ran down my throat.
'Danced around a lot, drank around a lot, sang around a lot.' I heard him chuckle inside my head, the sound of a car in the distance catching my attention. 'Is that you?'
'Is what me baby?' I paled, reaching over and grabbing Mariah. I picked her up, staggering as I tried to make my way to a tree. 'Is what me? Lena?'
'Someone's here.'
I heard car doors shutting as I hoisted Mariah up, her hands swatting at me. I pushed her on a branch, sitting on the one below her as I watched the field. Two men staggered into the field, one whiff and I could tell they were human. I furrowed my eyebrows, straining my ears to listen to them.
"Where are those stupid mutts." I suppressed a growl, my eyes trained on both of them. Each of them were in their upper to mid thirties, and I could see the outline of a gun on their hips.
Hunters.
I shook my head, trying to sober myself up as much as I could. I dropped to the ground in a crouch, taking a dagger I had strapped to my thigh out slowly. I stalked the perimeter, my fingers wrapping and unwrapping around my knife.

"Damon wanted the blonde, what do we do with the other one?" I halted, Hunters were working with Vampires?
I shifted and threw out my knife, catapulting it into the throat of the one that didn't speak. The other turned and took his gun out, shooting at me as I ran to him. I heard a car screech behind us, my mates scent filling the air as I tackled the hunter.
I flipped him over, pressing my knee to my back. I felt pain in my upper arm, a trickle of blood finding it's way down it. Guess one of the damn bullets grazed me.
"Why the hell are you working with him?" I growled, my hand tangled in his hair. I pulled his head up, before slamming it back on the soft dirt.
"I can't tell you! He'll kill my family!" I growled, lifting his head back up.
"Tell me and I won't kill you."
He took a breath, struggling to fight through the pain I inflicted on him. "He wants to kill you, because you're the true queen."
I rolled my eyes, aware of the fact Alex and Tyler were standing behind me. "Mariah's in the tree." I turned back to the hunter, lowering my mouth until it was right next to his ear. "I already know that, but I don't want to be queen!"
"It doesn't matter, the crown won't go on his head without burning him. Your descendants made it so no one but the true Queen and King could wear the crown, so he has to kill you." Tyler growled, stepping forward.
The effects of the alcohol came crashing down as the world starting spinning, causing me to sway and fall off of the hunter. Tyler was there in a flash, picking up the man and throwing him across the field. He ran to me, putting both of his hands on me cheeks to force me to look at him.
He looked disheveled, his cheeks tinged pink from the cold night air. "Babe, are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
I started giggling at his concern, waving him off. "I'm fine. I just got dizzy."
He picked me up in his arms, my arms wrapping around his neck as I nuzzled in closer. His heart was racing as he brought me to the car, setting me down in the passenger side as the back doors opened. I watched Alex get in with a still sleeping Mariah, a smile on my lips as I saw how he looked at her.
It was close to ten minutes before Tyler came back, shifting the car and driving in silence. I watched him from the side, my fingers moving against my better judgement. They traced up his arm in his short sleeve shirt, up the curve of his shoulder, and along his ear. His heart was beating so fast as he drove, I couldn't help but smile.
I did that to him. Holy hell, I did that.
My hands made their way down south, playing with the hem of his shirt before reaching underneath. He stiffened when I touched his stomach, dipping into his pants as he growled at me.
"Not here Lena." He took my hand from his clothes, my lips pouting as I looked at him.
"If not now, when!" Alex started laughing in the back, Tyler scowling through the rear view mirror.
"Babe, go to sleep. It's about a thirty minute drive." I huffed, crossing my arms against my chest.

"Then how'd you eat here so fast, mister smarty pants."
"Tyler drove like a fucking maniac that's how." Alex spoke as Tyler growled again, causing me to giggle at him.
I hated giggling, why the hell was I giggling?
"Is that so, big bad wolf?" Now Alex was roaring in laughter, hitting the back of Tyler's seat.
"Big bad wolf!" He started sucking in air as he laughed, Tyler growling again.
"Hey!" I shouted, turning to point my finger at Alex. "He's my wolf, only I can call him that you, you, chihuahua!"
Now it was Tyler's turn to howl in laughter, taking an exit to some road. I had no idea how we got to that meadow, all I knew is that three bottles of Vodka later somehow brought me there.
"Wait! Where are my two best friends!" I started to look for my bottles of alcohol under the seat, looking up to Tyler and Alex's confused faces. "My vodka! Oh my poor bottles of vodka, we left them in the meadow!"
I turned and saw Mariah clutching her half drunken bottle, grinning as I practically threw myself back there to get it. Tyler swerves when my hips collided with his shoulders, my hand tugging the bottle out of her hand until I sat back down with it.
"Guess I have three best friends." I took a sip, smiled when I saw the stars outside again. "Oh Tyler, can we get flowers! I love flowers so much."
He chuckled, his hand inching towards my best friend. "Give me that and tomorrow I'll get you as many flowers as you want."
I pondered the thought as I took another sip, the bottle almost empty. I grinned, looking back to Alex. "Think fast!"
I chucked the bottle at him, his hand grabbing it as it flew through the air. "Not nice little Luna."
I growled, sticking my tongue at him. "Don't call me that, I'm not little, I'm 5'8, taller than you giant head."
Tyler grinned when he pulled onto the familiar road that had our castle on it. I stepped out of the car when he turned it off, swinging my hands out as I spun in a circle again. The back doors opened again as Alex picked a mumbling Mariah up, taking her through the front door.
"Come on Lena, lets go to bed." I took a step back from his hand, shaking my head.
"I'm still mad, and I'm not ready yet!" I stared to stumble towards the garden, grinning when I smelt the flowers. The flowers still looked like a wreck from earlier, but at least the wood debris had been picked up. "Come on Tyler, we gotta get flowers!"
I heard him chuckle as he followed me, my eyes shutting as I took a big whiff of the air. I smelt the flowers along with him, lemons overpowering the air itself. "You smell like lemons you know."
I turned to find his face closer to me than I though, my mouth gaping open slightly. "I smell like lemon huh?"
I nodded, grinning as I closed the distance between us. I kissed his lips gently, sticking my tongue out to lick the tip of his nose. "Lemons and warmth. Like amber and sugar but better."
"Did you just compare me to a scent from Bath and Body Works?" I grinned, spinning around and walking closer into the garden. "Do you want to know what you smell like?"
I shrugged, running my hands over the flowers. I loved the soft petals, plucking a few and throwing them up in the air. I smiled as they floated around me, turning to find Tyler staring at me intently again. "Huh?"
"You're way to perfect for me." I gaped at his words, cocking my head slightly.
"I doubt that. You're hot Ty, hotter than me! That's why I hate Starla, Stella, star girl..." I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked off in the distance, wringing my hands together.
I looked up when I felt his hand on my arms, causing me to wince when he grazed my wound. He looked at me in concern, pulling up the sleeve. His eyes widened when he saw the dried blood, his eyes flitting back to me.
"Why didn't you say anything!" I shrugged, my hand brushing his hair out of his face.
"Kiss me okay?"
He stepped forward and captured his lips with mine, deepening it slowly. His tongue flicked with mine, sending me into a frenzy. My hands grasped his neck, flushing his body up against mine.
I pushed him away, staring up into his black eyes. I bit my lip, gripping his hand with mine as I pulled him up the stairs. I hummed along the way, opening the door to my bedroom.
"Who's room is this?" He asked me slowly, his eyes flashing around the empty room.
"Mine silly!" I giggled as I shrugged off my shirt and pants, walking into my closet as I grabbed a shirt Tyler had outgrown last year.
"How do you have your own room?" I shrugged as I slid his shirt over me, reaching around as I unclasped my bra and let it fall. I smirked at Tyler's pained look, running my hand through his hair.
"You can look, can't touch." I flung myself on my bed, lifting my legs so he had a good view of my red lacy thong. He groaned, running his hand over his face. "What's wrong Ty?"
He shook his head before turning around, lifting his shirt over his head and dropping his pants. I grinned when I saw the growing tent in his pants, lifting the hem of my shirt so he could get a better look at my underwear and skin.
"Two can play at that game babe." I came and sat at the edge of my bed, lifting up the comforter and burrowed in deeper. I watched him as he shifted and shut his eyes, taking deep breathes to calm his wolf.
I could practically hear mine inside of me, begging me to rip his clothes off and ravish him. I shut her out, inching closer and closer to him. I picked his hand up, trailing it along my thigh until it touched the edge of my underwear. His breath hitched, causing me to smirk and lean forward.
I flicked my tongue out against his throat, his face scrunching as he dared to not open his eyes. "Goodnight big bad wolf, next time I'm horny, don't deny me."
I climbed over to my side of the bed, placing a pillow in between us. I smiled as I settled in, hearing Tyler groan and mutter about him being a dumbass.
But I mean, he was my dumbass. So I guess I had to love him.

8 307The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
