– S H R U T I –
As the sunlight hit my face, I woke up and saw Rishabh sleeping beside me. What an obvious thing! Where would he sleep then?
Stretching my arms, I woke up and descended the bed. I checked the time and it was seven thirty. How can I sleep this long?
How could I forget that it's my first day in office?
First day?
After my marriage.
I drank a glass of water and ran to the bathroom. Using the toilet, I brushed my teeth and sighed.
I wish I get these white teeth in every life.
Picking my clothes, I ran inside the bathroom and took a quick shower. Pacing in the closet, I wore my clothes and applied moisturiser on my face. Applying light makeup, I walked towards the door and collided with a wall.
This has happened so many times.
I bet he's Rishabh.
I rubbed my forehead lightly and looked up, only to see him looking at me with care.
Care?
"I'm sorry. I was getting late, so I just ran-"
"It's alright. I'm fine. You should go or you'll get late." I cut him off and said. He nodded and went inside while I walked out to our room.
Wearing bangles in my hands, I tied my nuptial chain around my neck and closed its hook. Applying the vermilion in my partition, I stepped back and sighed.
Ready.
I stepped out and went in the kitchen. Seeing his mother cooking something, I went towards her and greeted her. "Should I help you?"
"No, it's almost done."
"But you're doing it all alone."
"I'm not alone. There're workers too. I was here just to make Radhika's favourite."
"Radhika is coming?"
"Hmm. She was craving for it from so many days. I just didn't got time to make it for her."
"So... I don't have any work here?"
"No. Breakfast is ready, you can have it in a few minutes." She said and I went out to the living room. All mothers are same!
As I had nothing to do, I went back to our room to pack my purse. I packed all the essentials in my purse and something striked my mind. Where is my ID card?

How will I enter inside the firm without my ID?
The automatic door won't open without scanning the card.
Oh God!
I checked the drawers but couldn't find it anywhere. It must've been lost while shifting.
I ran towards the closet and barged inside where I saw Rishabh in semi-naked form. Why did I enter at this time? I should've atleast knocked the door.
"I'm sorry. I need to search something." I said and walked inside.
If I act shy at this time, I would get late in searching for my ID!
"But I need to dress." He said.
"I promise I won't turn back. You can rest assured and change." I said and went towards my cupboard to search for my card. After searching the last drawer, I found my card and sighed.
It took me a lot of time!
I turned back to leave and saw him buttoning his shirt.
Okay.
This sight was sexier than the last one!
What's happening to me?
"Shruti, you're done?" He asked and I ran out. Packing my ID in my purse, I carried it to the living room and walked in the kitchen to help his mother.
Carrying all the bowls and plates out on the dining table, we sat on our chairs and ate our breakfast.
"Should we go?" He asked and I nodded. Wait a minute! We were going together?
"Don't you have your office in the opposite direction?" I asked while sitting inside his car.
"But I don't have any urgent work. I can drop you."
"You're sure?"
"Hmm... I can provide you pick-and-drop service. In short, I can be your driver." He grinned and I couldn't stop myself from laughing.
So, he knows how to joke too...
"Well... from how long have you been working in your firm?"
"It's been almost four years. And if I add my internship period, it's more than that."
"Do you have any good friend there?"
"Yes. Fortunately, I can work with my childhood friends Aditi and Parth."
"It seems that your working environment is good. I don't need to worry about it." He said and drove at the fastest speed to my firm.
"We're here. I'll go." I said and stepped out.

"Bye."
"Bye." I waved my hand and smiled. Turning back, I walked inside and scanned my ID. As the way opened, I paced in and saw Aditi grinning at me.
"Finally, you're here. How did you spend your days with your husband?"
"Good."
"Shruti. You know, we were missing you a lot. Finally, our gang is completed." Parth said.
"Woah! I'm not a member of any gang. Gang sounds as if we're doing any crime." Aditi said.
"Yes, you committed a crime. A crime of stealing my heart."
And they won't change.
Parth can't live without openly flirting with her.
"Oh! Just, shut up!" She shouted and stomped inside her cabin while he followed her. I shook my head in disbelief and paced towards my cabin.
✨
It was evening and I was exhausted after listening to everyone's wishes for my wedding.
"Shruti, let's grab some snacks." Aditi suggested.
"But Rishabh would be here in a few minutes. I don't want to make him wait."
"Oh my friend! You've changed a lot. Now you don't care about us, but instead that husband of yours." Parth teased and Aditi dragged me to the cafeteria.
"But-"
"No buts. Just sit down and relax with your friends." Aditi said, making me shut.
"Okay, but only for a few minutes." I said and joined them. As the time went, we walked out and saw Rishabh in his car.
Shit.
I'm late.
I never wanted this to happen.
Bidding them bye, I paced towards his car and sat inside. "You're late." He sighed and started driving.
"I was held back by Aditi and Parth."
"What?" He shouted. What has gotten into him? "You know, I have an important work and can't lose it. Just because of you being late, I've wasted ten minutes."
Just ten minutes and he's this.... angry...
"You could've called me if you were getting late."
"I've called you. Just check your phone." He said and I pulled my phone out. I checked it and saw twenty missed calls from him.
Oh God!
I kept my phone on airplane mode when I was attending an important meeting.
Why didn't I undo it?
"It was on airplane mode."
"So, it's not my fault."
"But why are you dragging it? I've told you that it's my fault for coming late. I'm accepting it, then there's no need for dragging the matter."
"But-"
"No one told you to wait for me."
"What? I was the one who dropped you here. So, it's my responsibility to bring you back."
"But I never asked you to drop me here. I could've drove myself. It was you who was adamant on giving me a ride here. If you're this punctual, you should have taken the opposite way instead of dropping me here."
"Unbelievable." He sighed and stopped the car. "You've reached, you can go." He said and I stepped out of the car. I turned back and saw his car disappearing from the sight.
What the hell did we do?
We haven't even talked properly.
And our first serious conversation was in the form of a fight.
Wow!
What a perfect way to start a relationship!
And here goes our sixth day of marriage in vain...
As I entered inside, I saw Radhika talking with her mother. As soon as her gaze went towards me, she grinned and walked towards me.
"Shruti, you're back. Where is Rishi bhai?"
We had a fight and he went back to his work.
"He had some urgent work."
"He and his work!" She sighed and smiled. "He's just like that. Don't worry. Wash up and come out. We'll eat together." She said and I nodded. Going back to our room, I quickly washed my hands and walked out.
We started our dinner but I couldn't find Rishabh anywhere.
Just because of a fight, he skipped his dinner!
It was my fault to stretch the fight.
Such a fool I am.
"Are you searching for bhai?" Radhika asked, breaking me from my thoughts. "He usually comes late when he has his so-called urgent work. Don't worry." She said and I nodded.
Going back to our room, I switched the lights off and climbed upon the bed. Hugging the pillow tightly, I closed my eyes, eventually falling into sleep.
