"Hey, good morning." Y/N smiled down on the now awake Jennie. Today, she feels extremely excited yet nervous at the same time. Because today, she'll let the girl she loves the most know about how she feels.
"Good morning to you too. Did you just wake up?" Jennie replied as she sat down with a yawn escaping her lips. She rubbed her eyes to get rid of all the evidences that she had a good night sleep the night before. And when she looked clearly at the other girl, she laughed.
"Or should I say, did you catch any sleep?"
Y/N smiled. "What gave it away?"
"Well for starters, you look like a panda with those bags. And second, your eyelids are droopy."
Waiting for Y/N's response, Jennie grabbed her phone and quickly reread the message that she got last night.
"Hi, honey. This is is your dad, Joongki. I hope you don't mind that I got your number from Seojoon. We miss you, Jiyeon. Your mom and I truly misses you. That's why I hope we can meet after your camping."
"I hope you'll give us a chance to know you, Jiyeon."
Jennie sighed. She hasn't replied to the messages just yet simply because she doesn't know what to say. Yes, she wants to know and meet her real parents but she's not ready yet.
I kept rereading those two messages since last night. It was before our last activity. And since then, I can't get it off of my mind. Also, Jiyeon doesn't sound right for me. Because I am Jennie and not Jiyeon.
"What shall I do?"
"Huh?" Hearing another voice, I quickly snapped my head and realized that Y/N is still here with me.
"Oh uh nothing. I said what did you do? Why didn't you sleep?"
Y/N smiled. "Well I was thinking so hard last night that I failed to notice the time."
"What were you thinking?"
"Hmm you'll know tonight. But for now, please replace that frown with a smile that I love the most." Y/N smiled so wide and I felt myself blush. Her sweet smile plus her sweet words would surely be the death of me.
"I-"
"Hey you two. Stop flirting and get out of the tent. We'll start looking for breakfast." Lisa, who poke her head inside the tent and interrupted me from talking, spoke with a somewhat rude tone. But despite that, I can see the teasing smile plastered on her face. Tho, something flashes in her eyes. It was quick but I am sure it was sadness.
The tall girl then left Y/N and I and wandered away.
I looked at Y/N. "I told her. I believe she deserves to know but don't worry. I left out most parts since it's not my place to tell."
I smiled at how caring Y/N is. She could have told Lisa everything but she chose to leave it to me.
"You're perfect."
"I know. Now let's get out because I am hungry." She held my hand and dragged me out of the tent. She held me tightly while I was blushing furiously at how I embarrassed myself.
•••
"Hey, you okay?" I was brought out of my trance when I heard the soft voice that I know too well.
"Yeah. I'm okay." I replied but I'm not sure why I sounded like I was convincing myself more than speaking the truth.

"Are you sure?" Rosé asked again.
I took a deep breath. This girl knows me too well that lying is not an option. "To be honest, I'm not." I looked in front of me and watched as Jisoo eonnie, Lisa, and Y/N play with the mud. I smiled to myself. This is what I would miss the most.
"What's wrong? What's on your mind?" I turned my head to the younger girl and saw her looking at our silly friends.
"I, I honestly don't know. I'm confused. I don't know what's the right thing to do."
There was silence for a moment until Rosé held my hand. "Hey look at me."
I did what she said. And as I stared back into her eyes, I saw sadness in them. I saw genuine sadness. And from that, I knew that she knows and feels what I feel.
"I'm probably not the right person to ask for advices considering that I get confused most of the times as well." We both chuckled at her statement.
"But what I can say is, and as cliché as it sounds, you have to follow you heart. Cause when your mind is clouded with lots of thoughts, your heart would lead you to the right path."
"And what if I regret the decision that my heart made?"
"Then maybe, maybe your heart never actually won over your mind."
I tilted my head, confused at what she said. And before I could ask a question, the three were already walking towards us with goofy smiles on their faces.
And just as Rosé and I were about to stand and run for our lives, we were tackled to the ground. And so, a muddy fight begun.
•••
It was the third day at camp. Last day before they leave tomorrow at 9 in the morning. And so, the students were allowed to do whatever they want as long as no one will get hurt. The teacher also made it clear that they shouldn't be leaving anything behind the campsite other than their prints.
Their last lunch for their camping was served. Unlike the past two days wherein the students had to go find their food, this time it was provided. Each student was handed a packed lunch that consists of a portion of roasted chicken, rice, and some veggies. They also had soup for lunch. It was a happy lunch for everyone.
Students talked amongst each other as they happily finished their food, and properly disposing them. It was a short camp yet everyone felt connected with one another. Actually, a few misunderstandings and fights that were created inside the school were fixed during their stay in the beautiful forest. And contrary to what you usually see in horror movies when it comes to camping at a wooden forest, nobody got lost nor got killed by the forest monster.
Y/N, she was staring at Jennie who was talking to their other classmates with a smile on her face. She was staring at her as if she is one of the wonders of the world. And anyone who would look into Y/N's eyes as she stared at the cat eyed beauty, they would know that the younger is deeply in love with the said girl.
And somewhere around Y/N, there was another girl who's trying to keep herself together even when her heart has already shattered. She's broken. But she's gonna be okay. That's what she keeps on telling herself. And that's what she's making herself believe.
On one of the big stones in the area, two people were happily chatting. They don't know what it was. But at that moment, maybe, just maybe, they finally realized that they belong to each other. That after all, a chipmunk was always meant to be with a turtle rabbit.

A couple more hours passed with the students talking, jamming, dancing, and some even went to the lake to swim, the night finally came. It was a beautiful night. Something about the night's air brought peace and comfort to everyone's heart. But also, there was nervousness on a certain junior's heart.
"Okay Y/N. You got this. You got everything prepared. Don't back out. Don't chicken out. This is your only chance." The girl said to herself as she held her bag's straps tightly on her hand. Inside it, there were lots of cupcakes, biscuits, and chips, and some blanket.
Y/N fixed herself and walked out of the tent. As she got out, she saw Lisa sitting on her stool and looked like she was actually waiting for the taller girl.
"Hey. Uhm, has the time finally come?" She softly asked as she stood up from her chair.
Y/N softly smiled. "It is, Lisa. It is."
After all the years that they have been best friends, Y/N still failed to recognize the forced sweet smile that Lisa has on her face. She failed to recognize the pain in her eyes. Or maybe, she was just too excited that her best friend's pain failed to register in her head.
"I'm proud of you, Y/N."
"Thank you, Lili. This wouldn't have happened if you didn't talk the sense out of me. So thank you, I owe it to you."
"It's no problem." A silence fell upon them. They just stared at each other's eyes. But Lisa, she can no longer take it. Being near Y/N is too much and it's making her hard to breathe.
"Go. Get your girl, Y/N. And by the way, you look beautiful tonight."
A light blush crept onto her face. She still isn't used to receiving compliments. "Thank you. And I'll see you later, Lili."
And before she got to walk away, Lisa hugged her softly and whispered in her ear. "I'm happy for you." And with that, they let go of each other as Lisa watched the back of the girl she loves walk away from her.
Lisa watched the girl she loves walk towards the girl she would never be.
"I will be happy for you. I will, one day." And after holding it back for so long, a tear finally escaped her eyes.
•••
Eyes scanning the semi-crowded area, Y/N finally found Jennie. There she was, the most beautiful girl in Y/N's eyes talking to the head teacher.
Y/N waited for a while before she approached the girl as the two seemed to be in a very important discussion.
And when she got close, the words "I understand Ms. Kim. I respect that." was heard.
Y/N got confused.
"Oh Y/N, can I help you with something?" The head teacher smiled at one of his favorite students when he became aware of her presence.
"Ah I just wanted to talk to Jennie, Sir. But I could wait if you're still talking."
"Oh no no. We just finished talking." He smiled. "Now if you'll excuse me." And with that, the head teacher excused himself and left the two alone.
"You wanted to talk to me?" Jennie turned towards the taller girl.
Y/N smiled but her hands were sweating like crazy. She's nervous as fuck. "Ah yeah. If that's alright with you."
"Well of course, Y/N. Come on let's go. I actually have something to say to you too." Jennie then grabbed the younger girl's hands. And when they touched, both of the girls' hearts were beating uncontrollably fast.
The two walked hand in hand as they strolled down the path. This time, it was Y/N leading the smaller girl because the latter admitted to not actually knowing where to go.
After quite some time of walking in the woods, they finally reached their spot. It was the one near the lake. The one where Y/N was the other night. But this time, instead of Lisa, she's with Jennie.
"Wow. This is beautiful." That was the first thing that came out of Jennie's mouth. Just like the night before, the scene was so serene. It looks so peaceful.
Y/N smiled widely, happy to know that Jennie liked the place.
"Hm. It's indeed beautiful. But being with you here makes it even more beautiful." Y/N looked at Jennie. That's why, the older girl's reddening cheeks didn't go unnoticed by Y/N.
Recovering from her small gay panic moment, Jennie cleared her throat. "How did you find this place?" It wasn't the same lake that the other students swam in. It was on the other side of the forest.
"Well since I can't sleep last night, I walked and walked and arrived here. And I'm so glad that I found this place even though I feared for my life." Jennie chuckled as she knew why Y/N felt that. The place was so calm that it has some eerie vibes. And they are in the middle of the forest for pete's sake so it's understandable.
"Here. Come sit with me." Y/N was now sitting on the blanket that she spread out and extended her hand for Jennie to take. In which she gladly took.
The two silently sat beside each other. It was a comfortable silence but there was still some nervousness in Y/N's body.
"I have to tell you something." As if it was straight out of the romantic movies, Jennie and Y/N spoke at the same time making them softly laugh at each other.
"You go first." Again, they spoke at the same time.
Silence fell. Both girls looking at each other's eyes. And she doesn't know why, but Jennie felt like it would be the best decision to let Y/N talk first. And so, she released a breathy chuckle and said "You go first, Y/N."
Y/N nodded her head. She smiled sweetly yet nervously at the girl.
Y/N scolded herself in her head as her palms started to sweat even more. Her heart is beating so fast that she was sure she would pass out.
Staring at Jennie's beautiful features, Y/N became extra nervous.
As if sensing Y/N's uneasiness, Jennie softly smiled and held Y/N's hand. "Don't be nervous. I will listen. Don't worry okay?"
Y/N could only nod before she took a deep breathe.
She removed her hands from Jennie's grip just for her to hold them on her own. Now, she was holding Jennie instead of the other way around.
"I already practiced this a thousand times in my head but it feels different now that I have you in front of me." Y/N chuckled.
"I know that this might be too much of an information for you and this is not how I practiced it in my head. I also know that this is not the most romantic way to say it. But Jennie, I love you. I love you more than how I did when we were younger. I love you more than how I used to back when we were kids. Because Jennie, even before things unfolded, I already love you more than a sister should. And that scared me. I was scared that I would make myself obvious that would lead you to know. I got scared that you'd distance yourself because heck it was so wrong. It was forbidden. But now, I am ready to risk it all. I am ready to take a chance with you. I am ready to show the world how much I love you. I am ready to make you feel how important you are to me and how you are the person that I love the most with no hesitations or fears. I don't wanna be scared anymore. Because Jennie, you're that woman for me. You are the one I see myself growing up with. You're the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I love you so much, Jennie."
By the time Y/N finished what she wanted to say, tears are streaming down the faces of both girls. They were crying while they held each other.
Jennie didn't expect that Y/N actually loves her. Like truly loves her.
Wiping her own eyes, Y/N spoke again. "I'm not asking for you to love me back. All I am asking is for you to let me love you. Because I believe that you deserve all the love that this world could offer. And I, I want to be that person who would show you how it's like to be loved with no conditions."
Without answering, Jennie pulled her hands away from Y/N's and held the younger girl's cheeks as she pulled her closer to her. And with the small gap vanishing, Jennie kissed Y/N like how she always wanted to. She kissed Y/N hoping that Y/N would feel how much she loves her through that kiss.
It was a soft and delicate kiss but they both felt that it was magical. The two shared their first kiss under the moonlight.
"I love you too, Y/N." Jennie muttered as they pulled away.
