《Into You - Jennie Kim x Female Reader》Chapter Eighteen

"Do you really have to go?" The younger Kim asked her older sister while staring at her through the desk's mirror. Jennie's currently putting on her last accessory before she's ready to go.
Jennie sighed. "Yes, Y/N. For the nth time, I have to."
"But why?" She was met with silence.
Y/N started whining. "Why are you being like this? Are you still mad at me for getting drunk? It was your fault anyway." She mumbled the last part that only her can hear.
"What do you think? You were so persistent that you wouldn't drink but look at what happened? Jisoo unnie had to drag your drunk ass all the way to their house and I had to receive an earful from our parents telling me that I was supposed to be looking out for you."
Y/N pouted. Jennie rarely rambles like this and when she does, you'll never hear the end of it. But for some reasons, Y/N found it cute.
"Mianhe, Jennieyah." Y/N knows that calling her this way would lessen her life sentence.
"Don't act cute on me now, Kim Y/N. I'm still mad at you." Jennie glared at her from the mirror but the younger could see the forming smile on the girl's face. So she decided to pull the last string.
She walked towards the desk, where Jennie was seated and bent down. She wrapped her arms around the smaller girl's figure and rested her chin on her shoulder. Y/N looked at Jennie's eyes through the mirror.
"Mianhe, my dear Jendeukie. I promise I won't ever be drunk again." She finally saw the smile break out of her perfect face, with a hint of red as well. "Unless needed." She added and Jennie glared at her once again.
"Just kidding." She unwrapped her arms and both of them immediately missed the warmth.
Y/N turned Jennie around and held her chin while looking down on her.
"I'm sorry once again, Jennie." The said girl just nodded and smiled that made Y/N smile. But then she remembered where Jennie is going.
"Don't go out with him please." She pleaded, still holding onto the girl's chin.
Jennie knew deep inside that never in a million years she'll go out with him but she knew this would be for the best. So she just looked everywhere but Y/N's eyes.

"Just go out with me." Y/N blurted out. That made the cat eyed girl look at her as both of their cheeks heat up.
"I-I mean us. G-go out with us." Y/N removed her hands away from her chin and began scratching the back of her neck thinking for something reasonable.
"Y-yeah. W-we we'll g-go out. The squad will." She heaved a breath of relief when Jennie seemed like she bought it.
"I'm sorry. But I already made a promise."
Y/N slowly walked back to Jennie's bed and sat again. "Why don't you just go out with Taehyung?"
"How is it that you allow him but not Kai?"
"That's because I know him. He's my bestfriend. I know what runs in that pretty head of him. Tss. Unlike that Jongin guy."
"Really? You know your bestfriend well?" Jennie challenged.
"Yup." Y/N dragged the p.
"Then how is it that you didn't know that him and I are already a thing?"
Y/N's eyes widened at that. She can't believe what she just heard. But seeing the small smile on her sister's face, she knew she was just playing.
"Eh. You can't be dating him."
"Why is that?"
"Because, my boy Taetae doesn't like you." She smirked. "He only uses you."
"He uses you to hide his secret. But I know him too well. He just use you as an excuse so he can go to the council's office everyday to see our dear auditor, Mr. Jeon Jungkook." Y/N smiled at that. She has always knew that her bestfriend took a liking on the handsome auditor. She sensed it. She feels it. So that is why she was never threatened with him. And even if her bestfriend was straight, she wouldn't worry for she knows how caring of a guy Taehyung is.
"You know?" Jennie asked surprised. The girl and Taehyung talked about it on the times he would pick her up from home. The boy confessed about his true feelings and true preference to Jennie and the girl was so happy for him. Deep inside, she felt envious because she can never say that specially when the person she is in love with is forbidden.
"I told you, I know him well."
"I..." Jennie was supposed to say something again when someone knocked on her door.

Y/N stood up and opened it to see Mrs. Hwang on the other side.
"Jennie, kai is here." The way the old woman said it seemed like she dislikes the boy as well.
"Ne. Thank you, Mrs. Hwang." Jennie stood up and grabbed her phone and bag before bidding goodbye to Y/N and Mrs. Hwang.
When Jennie left the room, and eventually the house, Mrs. Hwang sighed.
"I like you better for her." She mumbled.
"What?" Y/N was confused. She has been confused ever since the night she came home to change clothes for the bar.
"You always take care of her. You love her. And that's the love she deserves." With that, she left a once again confused Y/N standing by the door.
Y/N thought to herself as she exited Jennie's room and went on her own.

"Why are we here?" Lisa asked as the two of them sat at the top of the cliff. It's now 6 in the evening.
After thinking so hard, that gave her a headache, Y/N decided to call her friends and ask them to hang out. Unfortunately, Jisoo's with Seokjin babysitting their younger brother while Rosé already went out with her friends from Australia that visited Korea. So now, Y/N's stuck with her crackhead of a bestfriend.
The view from the cliff is very fascinating. There's a falls that runs down from the other cliff on the other side. They are surrounded by different kinds of trees and flowers. From their spot, you could smell the aroma of mixed lavender and pine. Lisa had her camera with her and took as many shots as she can of the beautiful place.
Y/N smiled at the view. She can't help but imagine bringing Jennie here and just spending time with each other. With that thought in her head, a frown made its way on her lips. She sighed and laid down on the grass with her arms serving as her pillow.
"How did you find this place?" Lisa asked as she takes in the nature.
"I have always loved exploring. You know that. So on one of my adventures, I found this treasure. The treasure that was hidden behind something ordinary."
It's true. No one would have thought that this beautiful place exists since it's on the other end of an old tunnel. No one passes by that tunnel anymore since some says it's creepy while others just don't mind it. The entrance was already covered with thick vines. But for Y/N, when she was out for her morning jog, she felt like something was telling her to go through that tunnel. It wasn't a short walk but she continued walking until she finally heard the running of water and chirping of birds. At the end of the tunnel, there's a pathway that leads to the cliff. So now, this is her spot. And also Lisa's.
Lisa hummed at her answer. "Why are we here?" She asked once again.
Instead of giving an answer, Y/N just closed her eyes and focused on the sound of the nature. Lisa saw this and she knew that something is bothering her. So she put her camera back on her bag and laid down beside her bestfriend, copying her position.
Y/N felt it and she smiled. "Lisayah."
Lisa hummed. "Have you ever fell in love with someone you can't have?"
Lisa turned her head to look at Y/N. She still had her eyes closed. "Have you ever wanted someone so bad but you know you don't stand a chance?" Y/N added.
"And have you ever been the happiest person with someone but the same happiness also causes you more pain?"
Lisa sadly smiled. She stopped staring at Y/N's features and closed her eyes. A tear quickly escaping her eye. "I do. Trust me, I do."
It was silent. No one talked again and let the birds and water provide the only sound they can hear.
Y/N sighed. "What did you do?"
"I mean, did you make a move?"
Lisa stayed quiet for a while before answering. "I let them be." Another tear fell down. "Because just like what you said, I don't stand a chance. They're out of my league."
"How are you sure that you don't stand a chance?"
"I feel it."
"You would never know if you won't tell them how you feel. You can't just be sure by relying on your guts."
Lisa laughed bitterly and sat. She looked down on Y/N. "In that case, what do you suggest on what to do?"
With her eyes closed, "Tell them. Who knows? Maybe you actually have a chance."
Lisa took a deep breath. "Then tell me, Y/N. Do I have a chance?"

Musings of a Hypocrite
Mortals are weird. They insisted in unity, as well as individualism. More often than not, they're shocked at truth and honesty, but not at falsehood and deceit. They asked questions with multiple answers, and provided answers that begged other questions. They made things to break, they destroyed things to study, they researched things to recreate. Humans, Elves, Beastmen. All of them. Within these contradictions, a miracle might manifest. But this tended to work with a trial and error methodology. Most mortals never got the happy ending. This diary is my journey alongside a few students of mine. In simple terms - they learn, they grow, they fight. They'll journey through centuries of conflict, from the physical to the educational. They'll experience the cruelty and benelovence of all living-kind. They'll experience the consequences of their choices and the blessings of their rewards. They will grow to become useful to me, or die trying like all the others. As for you? The god reading our lives like a book, sitting in your chair without a care in the world? I will show you, the farce that is known as 'God'.
