《Into You - Jennie Kim x Female Reader》Chapter Seventeen

It's already 6 in the evening and the girls and I just finished another episode of Riverdale. The team said that they'll book a vip place for us and we could head there by 7. So I stood up and looked at my friends.
"I'll just go home to shower and change clothes, okay? I'll meet you there guys." I said pointing to the clothes I was wearing a while ago.
"Are you coming with me, unnie?" I looked at Jennie to see her spacing out once again. So I walked over to her and crouched down on her level so I was face to face with her.
"Are you coming?" I repeated.
Just like that night, I feel her breath on my face once again. But I tried not to do anything stupid. I saw her blink her eyes rapidly as if she was just freed from her trance and looked me in the eyes.
Her eyes have always been my favorite thing to stare at. Her eyes hold so much magic and mystery that I want to unravel. They represent so many colors all at once and that makes it the most beautiful galaxy. Everything about her screams perfection. She may have flaws that she's insecure about, but those make her perfect in my eyes. Jennie is undeniably beautiful, inside and out.
I hope one day, she sees herself the way I see her. Because in that way, she'll understand why I am in love with her.
"I ah no. I-i'll stay he-here." She then cleared her throat and leaned back on the couch to create a bigger gap from me. "I already like my outfit so I'll just see you there."
I stood back up and nodded. I looked at my friends to see Lisa and Chaeng laughing at something at Lisa's phone. While Jisoo unnie, she's observing Jennie and I. With the way she is looking at us, I felt scared because I somehow feel like she's reading my emotions and doing a good job at it.
So I quickly bid good bye and ran out of the door.
I drove away from Lisa's residence and made my way back home. I opened the windows to let fresh air in to calm my nerves. Jisoo unnie can't know anything. No one can know. No one.
As I reached home, I parked at our garage and immediately turned off the engine then went out of it and locked the door.
"Mom?! Dad?! Naeunah?!" I yelled for my family since it's very quiet. My parents have their rest day today so I'm sure they're just around the house unless they went out with Naeun cause she finished school hours ago.
"They are at the movie room." I heard Mrs. Hwang's voice coming back inside from the garden.
I bowed at her. "Thank you, Mrs. Hwang."
I was about to head upstairs when the older woman spoke once more. "Where's Jennie?"
"Jennie again, Mrs. Hwang? I'm here." I playfully replied but she just blankly looked at me so I cleared my throat.
"She's at Lisa's place with Jisoo unnie and Chaeng. We'll go to the bar tonight to celebrate the team's first win."
"Bar? Team?" By now, she walked closer while holding her gloves.
"Ah yeah. I kind of played basketball again today and we won. So we will celebrate at the bar." I replied while scratching the back of my head.
My answer made the woman smile from ear to ear. "You played again?! Oh I am so proud of you, Y/N!" She tiptoed and ruffled my hair, like how she used to when I was still a kid.

My heart melted at the 65 year old woman's words. Mrs. Hwang is a slightly strict one but she's actually a soft bear inside, like Jennie. Hearing her compliment me means so much to me because as it was obvious that out of the three of us, Jennie is her favorite. Probably because they are like the same person, just born on different generations. Mrs. Hwang is like a second mom for us and also a grandmom.
"I see, you also have a soft spot for me. Thought that's only for Jennie unnie." I decided to tease her about it and she just laughed at me.
"You're important to me too, Y/N." She then got serious. She stretched her arms and put her hand on my cheeks. She stroked it gently while looking at me.
"Thank you, Y/N. Thank you for always looking out for Jennie. Thank you for always being there for her." I see how her eyes started to water and I got confused as to why she's getting emotional right now and why she would thank me. I mean, it's my responsibility to take good care of my siblings.
She must have realized how she's acting so she pulled her hand away from me and smiled once more before turning back away.
But before she completely walked away, she stopped. "Thank you for loving her like your own."
It wasn't clear to me on why she said that. Her words weren't even clear as well but I know what I hear.
Like my own? What does that mean?
With a question in my head, I walked upstairs and went straight to the movie room. Upon entering, I saw my family cuddled with each other.
"Unnie!" Naeun jumped from the couch and ran towards me. I picked her up and spun us around while kissing her all over her face. I love this little sunshine so much.
While still carrying her, I walked to my parents and kissed their cheeks. They must have paused the movie since it's silent now.
"Mom, dad, I just wanna say that I-I.." I covered my sisters ears, "I along with my friends and the team will go to the bar tonight." I closed my eyes to prepare myself from their scoldings but none came so I opened my eyes again.
They were just smiling. "Jisoo already told us about this. She texted a while ago saying you'll celebrate at the bar because apparently, my not so small princess played again and made the team win." My dad stated, a proud smile on his face. My mom also made the same face.
Playing again wasn't that bad at all.
I put Naeun back on the couch and hugged the three of them. I love my family.
"Thank you, mom and dad. We'll be back before you know it." I winked and exited the movie room.
I went to my own room and took a quick shower. As I finished, I checked the wall clock. 6:45pm, it said.
So I opened my closet to find an outfit for tonight and one set of my clothes caught my attention. I pulled it out and examined it.
Hmmm, this looks like Jennie's outfit.
So I put them on, blow dried my hair then tied it up into a ponytail. I looked at myself in the mirror and hummed in approval. Before leaving my room, I sprayed my favorite perfume and put on my watch.
I jogged back to the movie room. Opening the door, I peered my head and softly said to them that I'm going.

"I'm leaving!" I yelled as I reached the living room to let Mrs. Hwang know. She's probably at the kitchen preparing dinner.
I hopped inside my car and drove off.
15 minutes later, I arrived at the bar that they were talking about. It's now 7:15pm.
I looked at the bar's name signage and it does look cool with its pink neon lights.
I parked my car and headed inside. The guards let me in after I showed my ID. Unlike other bars, All-Day In The Pink is under 18 friendly. And that makes this bar one of the hottest bar in town. At least that's what I heard.
So I went in and saw that this is really far from what I see in movies. People are dancing with each other but not those sexual dances I see and read. They are teens having the time of their lives grooving to fast beat music.
Of course there are drinks, this is a bar after all. And unlike what other people say about bars, the smell inside is not that strong. It actually has a mixture of alcohol and vanilla, if that makes sense.
Walking further inside, I spotted my friends and the team seated on a huge booth, bigger than most of the booths here. There's a signage that says VIP Booth.
Hmm, so it's not a room. They probably put it as an open booth so people can't do other things like drugs and all.
"Hey, you're finally here. Thought you're ditching us." Soyeon teased as she passed me a shot glass.
"Ah no thanks. I'll just have iced tea. I'm driving." She just nodded and didn't push it more.
I looked at my friends and saw their outfits tonight.
"You look really good tonight." I complimented the four of them and the three of them flipped their hair. Jennie sat there with a slight shade of pink on her cheeks.
Cute.
"Don't we always look good?" The three said in unison. Their harmonies scare me sometimes.
"Oh whatever." I laughed at them and took a sip of my iced tea.
"How are you and Mina, Y/N?" I almost spit my tea out but luckily I didn't. What's up with Jisoo unnie? Why is she asking me this? She knows what went down between the girl and I and how we are friends right now.
"What do you mean? We're friends." I simply stated.
"I know. But you said you thought it was her when you kissed Chaeyeon." I heard the people in our booth let out ooohs. I started getting sweaty. I subtly rubbed my hands on my jeans as I averted my eyes. But doing that, my eyes landed on Jennie who was intently looking back at me.
"Wait wait. So you just kissed her because you thought it was your ex?" Lisa exclaimed as she drank from her cup. "That's fucked up."
"I, I already told her about that. I-I don't see her that way." I looked down at my lap and started playing with the strap of my watch. If I only knew this was gonna happen, I shouldn't have told unnie anything back at Lisa's home.
"You still have feelings for her then." Jisoo once again spoke up.
"Who?"
"Mina of course. Who else?" The people around us are silent. Just listening to our conversation and observing us.
"Hmm." Jisoo clicked her tongue. "Unless you're in love with someone else." I looked up at her and saw that smug grin on her face.
What is she doing?! Where is she getting at?!
"No. I am not in love with her nor someone else." I hardened my gaze at her and she just smiled.
"Sure."
"Okay, uhm, who likes to dance?!" Rosé, sensing the tension, yelled over the loud music.
Everyone aside from me cheered and stood up from their seats and left.
"Hey, you're not going?" I looked up and see Lisa waiting for my answer.
"Ah no. I'll look out for our things." She nodded and left, like everyone else.
As I was sat there alone, things are running inside my head. From what Mrs. Hwang said to how Jisoo unnie is acting right now.
With those confusing thoughts, I didn't notice that I started drinking the liquid on my friends' cups. I was already drinking alcohol.
I shook my head and grabbed the water bottle that is placed on the other side of the table. I took a sip from it and just watched people dancing. I was watching and scrolling at my phone alternately.
•••
It has been 30 minutes since all of them left for the dance floor. Do they not get tired? I'm bored as fuck now.
So with that being said, I stood up and called over one of the workers here and told him to look for our things. I paid him enough for borrowing his time for 30 more minutes. My friends will surely be back by then. I also took a picture of his ID in case he thinks of doing some funny business.
I walked through the crowd and see some people that I know. I talked to some of them as they approached me. But soon, I had to excuse myself since I need to use the restroom.
I found the room after quite some time, since this place is gigantic.
I entered the room and did my business. I washed my hands afterwards before exiting the restroom.
The atmosphere changed as soon I got out. Fast beat music became a slow one. What is this, prom?
I watched people slow dance with one another. There's boy and girl, boy and boy, and girl and girl. Wow I love the diversity!
I continued watching them until my eyes landed on a familiar outfit. I scanned her face and I'm right, it's Jennie.
It's Jennie dancing with Kai.
How did I not think that their team won't come here too? They also won today. Ugg stupid, Y/N.
I saw how Kai pulled her closer while telling her something that made her smile. A true gummy smile. She nodded her head and continued dancing with him.
How is it that the smile who completes your day is also the same smile who'll break your heart? That's ironic.
Seeing her smile at him hurts me. Not only because she's smiling because of someone else but also because this is her first time smiling at him.
I sighed and looked down, a tear falling on my cheeks. He probably has a chance. A chance that you'll never have, Y/N. Stop now. Give up.
I let my feet take me where my heart wants it to be right now, the bar.
"Please give me the strongest drink you have." I told the bartender. The old man looked at me sympathetically before nodding and went to make my drink.
After a while he came back with a reddish looking drink.
"What's this?"
He smiled at me. "That's the Long Island Iced tea."
"Iced tea? I said give me the strongest drink, not an iced tea sir." I pushed back the drink to him only for him to push it back to me.
"Don't let the name fool you kid. That iced tea has gin, vodka, tequila, rum, triple sec, and strawberry." I looked at him for a while before sipping on it.
And oh boy. He wasn't wrong. This shit is strong as fuck. I felt the liquid burn my throat but I didn't mind and finished the whole glass in no time.
I asked for another one and another and another and another and another and another until I felt myself being pulled by someone. I can't clearly see their face because my vision is becoming blurry.
After how many minutes of dancing, we finally decided to head back to our booth. About damn time. My feet hurts so bad now.
As we were walking towards the booth, we saw an unfamiliar guy instead of Y/N. All of us panicked and rushed to him.
"Where is she?"
"Who are you?"
"Did you do something to her?"
"Why are you here?"
"Oh my god! I'm gonna call the police!"
We turned our heads to Lisa as she was overreacting the most. She just held a peace sign and mouthed a sorry.
We looked back at the guy to see him getting uncomfortable and scared.
"Sorry for that. It's just that, we left our friend here and didn't expect to come back to you. Who might you be?" I asked him and he released a deep breath and stood up.
"It's okay. Your friend called me 25 minutes ago to watch out for your things. I'm an employee here." He said and showed his bar ID.
If he is an employee, that means he bailed out of work!
"Don't worry. She paid me enough to do this and our bar allows workers to do that in case no one watches over their things. Besides, she paid for 30 minutes so you still have 5 more minutes."
"Ah. Thank you." We bowed to him. "But it's okay now. You can go back to work. Thank you once again."
When he left, all of us started thinking where Y/N is. I then pulled my phone out to call her.
She picked up after a few rings, only that it is not her voice that I heard. It was a man's voice and he said he is a bartender and Y/N is drunk at the counter right now.
I immediately walked away to find her, not minding their questions. When I found the counter, I saw my pabo of a cousin drinking even if her head is already at the table.

Wild Steam
Get on a train. Head east. Get on a ship. Travel further east, in style. See some wonders of the world. Find what was lost. Find where home is. How hard is any of that?Well, for Jake Ranger, pretty damned hard. The world being a wild, crazy mess from a global altering event called the Shattering doesn’t help much. Nor does being a famous folk hero. That last one really sucks, because people always run up to famous heroes and beg them for help with all their problems. Then there are the actual outlaws and monsters. They don’t help much either. Mostly they just get in the way and make everything way worse. And in a world that is so screwed up decades after the Shattering, there is a lot of variety to both outlaw and monster. Then there are the more civilized, (read: sane), non-human folk, and good old humans as well. They all get along just spectacularly. Totally best friends, on every level, for life. Of course getting to the east coast is only half the battle. Once there, he must contend with the so-called “civilized people.” Then there’s the ship ride; pirates and sea monsters are a thing too, after all. Should have read the brochure. But when the chips are down, the bad guys are winning and the wild winds of chaos are blowing, it helps to have a fighter on your side. Even if he is a little wild. After all, that’s not really a problem. That’s what beautiful women and lots of gold is for. Proper motivation is always key to success. Welcome to a Steampunk, Wild West, Victorian era, Lovecraftian infested, fantasy, shoot ‘em up world. Complete with a slow build harem of badass beautiful women, crazy adventures, and fun, monstrous villains. Welcome to the world of Wild Steam. Do enjoy your stay.
